Absolutely Robert the Dominicans have done brilliant in Ireland, especially this year. Im discerning religious life myself and I always thought it was a Latin Mass community I would only consider joining, having visited a few of them but after seeing the witness the Dominicans have given this year alone Im considering the Dominican Sisters of St Cecilia now. God bless the Dominicans, they will be instrumental in the turn around of this country! And thanks for your discernment advice too 🙏🏼🕊️
St Marys is a wonderful church and the Dominicans do great work to spread the faith in Cork. Their masses are always beautiful and full. They added the altar rail back, It's lovely to see people kneeling to receive the Eucharistic( and so many young people). Fr Culm is now prior there.
I returned to Christ in 2020 and am blessed to be living near st Mary's in cork. Without a shadow of a doubt there's no possibility I would be where I am without the community, leadership and shepherding of the Dominicans
Let’s us pray the Rosary on a Thursday for vocations to the priesthood and religious life. It was on Holy Thursday that the Lord instituted the Holy Eucharist and the Priesthood. I pray that the Lord of the Harvest will anoint many young men with the power of the Holy Spirit and send labourers into the Harvest. Mary mother of the Church pray for us. Ave Maria🙏
Where there is a will there is a way. Where there is no will there is no way. God bless the Dominicans and their orthodoxy - of course they also have a few wokers in their community.
I am German, 25 and interested in the priesthood after I will finish my law degree. As a traditionally-minded person who just converted late last year though I feel the FSSP or SSPX would be the only real options here. Dominicans in Germany are extremely liberal, there seem to only be good orders in France but not in Germany or Austria.
Well Dominicans in Ireland especially the younger generation you could label them liberal. That is the reason they are getting vocations. Fssp ans sspx have some good priests, and good communities, but we also need the Dominicans who are doing stellar work in universities where sspx/fssp are not present
Here in Tralee they have been a citadel of faith. They greatly complement the local parishes. Tradition in the dominican way seems to be very attractive. Intellectually & theologically they have not only held and passed on the faith but they make tradition exciting even 'sexy'. Do you remember the 'Steward of Gondor' in Tolkien's Lord of the Rings? A fictional character but alive in many high positions in the Church today. The Dominican's are a good example of a group of believers within the Church who held their nerve in Christ.
Remember, you can be an OP brother or deacon. St. Dominic wanted such me to do things like keeping the priorities up, so the priests could go out and, err, preach!
good news but let's celebrate new conversions & see the laity rebuild the church together with wonderful new novices etc. what we need is conversions, vocations come and go and take care of themselves.
I know the OP St. Martin de Pores Province here in the US is doing OK. They got 14 men in formation, half of those are from Holy Rosary in Midtown Houston. And that parish is alive in a good way. OF done right. Good homilies. The Gregorian Chants from that red booket of easy chants for every Mass. 3rd Order program. Devotions. Church looks like the bridge between the the latecRoman and early Gothic. Ok, Communion intinction on tongue, kneeling.
I think they have sold off their beautiful retreat house and acres in Montonotte Cork city called Enismore 😢 St Mary's Popes Quay church Cork city is fantastic - I love the Dominicans and am very thankful
Send a note of encouragement to:-

The Dominicans of St Cecilia are incredible, I highly recommend them.

Ireland and indeed the world needs good Shepherds at this time
I love this video above all others... I never knew I could write to these men. I enjoy writing. It's a gift I believe the art of penmanship
Badly needed!!🙏❤️☘️

If maynooth was run properly they would get vocations

Blessings to all

Follow your instincts. Try the Irish or French orders. Will remember you in my prayers. 🙏🙏🙏
SSPX. They seem to be the only order that does not cowtow to Vatican demands to stamp out the TLM.

They embody the gifts of the Holy Spirit and that is a testimony to their formation
@@thecatholicman yes indeed. Spiritual formation is in fact useless unless it leads to spiritual transformation. The New Life !
I've found them to be very quiet for a mendicant order here in Ireland. Very quiet.

One thing the Irish OP's are doing is accepting older men. I think that can bring gravitas into the formation processes.

Retreat centres are very expensive to run. Sadly market for Catholic retreats isn’t great.
Maybe they might return to Drogheda...a very fine church is still there and an excellent community which misses them.
Well then you need 6 to 8 new novices per year
Jesus Jesus Jesus 🙏❤️
Is fr leon in Medjugorje a dominican priest
Yes.
🙏🌍🙏
What are the Discalced carmelites like here? I think they are anglo-irish but still.
No idea
