Thanks for that detailed update! It was especially helpful that you narrated and let people know what's open and what's not. Wonderful to see the progress and foliage greening up as you said. As frequent visitors to both Sanibel and Captiva we've been using your channel and a few others to keep track of the recovery. Looking forward to returning next February..... thanks again for your excellent work!
Thank you so much! We love to se the progress, there is a lot of work to do but we love to help people providing information and supporting local business that are working hard to be open! We appreciate you guys and thanks for watching.
Thank you so much for that excellent video! As you guys said, things are getting greener, most of the dead vegetation and refuse has been removed but quite a few restaurants and shops are closed. Hopefully the majority of those reopen but it will be a long haul. There are many restaurants open though, Jerry's Market and most of the beaches, so that's a plus! Great job and thank you for sharing this video! It gives us all hope that Sanibel is coming back!
Wow, thanks, for the video, I haven't been there in 20 years, had my honeymoon there 30 years ago, so nice, then again, so WAS everything else.I don't think we will be going back. Sanibel WAS so nice. Captiva Island was desolate.
I'm heading to Ft. Meyers in a few weeks to help rebuild houses and my daughter wants to see some "clear blue water". Is there a beach here that has that? TIA
Hi There! Please check Red Tide Charts before, but I will recommend any beach in Sanibel - Captiva. One of our favorites is Bowman’s Beach and Angliers Beach (also known as Gulfside Beach). If you can Visit North CAPTIVA.
DQ recently announced they were unable to obtain a buyer and now they are just selling the real estate. I wonder whether Sanibel government will allow a franchise business there and whether national corporate might take over the business to keep it from dying. MudBugs Cajun Kitchen is open, it’s one of the restaurants you passed on your left as you were going north. Thank you for this well done and informative video!
Hello thank you for this video! Trying to plan a trip around August/September and wanting to stay on the beach or as close as possible in Sanibel or Fort Meyers are there hotels open yet? It’s so hard to search when your not sure what the names. Thank you
Hello! thanks for watching. Yes there are some open, we are working on a video update about whats open to stay and hopefully we can show the amenities and the area. We know 'Tween Waters Island Resort & Spa' is open.
