Funny story, when Gluttony was first reworked to HP based, he was doing massive damage then they reworked him again the next day to the low damage dps he is today.

Cool new intro man. I agree with your points. I was thinking, maybe all these DEF / HP scaling characters are only for the development and not meant for the late game / end game. Still sad but I guess you need to distribute bad heroes among buckets too.

I'm inclined to agree with you; heroes in the "bruiser" class do not do very well. A lot of that ties back to the idea that Guild Boss set the expectations for a lot of people of what endgame content was all about: sustained, single-target damage, and maximized single-target damage has been able to carry people through a lot of existing content.
I think the way to solve that problem is to design challenges where previous heroes aren't sufficient. For example, when you have swarms across more lanes, you need more damage in more places, and Fighters might not have the HP or the Block count to deal with it, and there may not be Pedestals for the normal "AOE" heroes. If you have enemies that have 50k HP each, someone like Wrath can oneshot them, but if there are 4-5 enemies in a swarm, he might not be able to block them all and you need someone like Azhor or Krodor. Have three or four lanes like that, with no pedestals for healers or mages, and you'll need more than just Arrogance and Ardea. There are a couple VRNM stages leading up to Torodor that kind of play towards that mechanic. Another way to do it is to restrict the number of heroes you can bring, so that you have to compromise away from best-of-the-best to bring heroes that fill multiple roles. We just need more content and harder content to showcase what defines the bruiser class; the junction of durability and damage.
We know that Moonton tracks stats for most-used heroes. Wouldn't it be awesome if they built content around the least-used heroes? That seems to be the direction that GD1 and GD2 are going, and Torrent IC is stretching the Marksman class. The GD2 Banshees took Edith from meh to best-in-slot for one specific challenge. Boreas IC took Annai and Nisalt to the leader boards. The only concern I have is that those new challenges need to phase in slowly enough that people have time and resources to develop the underdogs.

The worse thing is defense does nothing against magic dmg.
0 damage mitigation VS magic in this game.
Defense is in a bad spot right now, maybe they will fix it, Moonton seems like they actually care unlike raid.

I suspected he might not hit that hard once I saw him as a shard summon starting this weekend (forerunner). They don't give away the hard hitters for free
I feel Rork is designed for lane 4 in gear dungeon 2. put him behind a tank, he aids with shields to the tank and then he does the damage from behind to 8 enemies on his ult.
yep wierdly enough they always release a fusion but the fusion finishes after the content is out or in the past finished XD
Does the reason why their damage is so low in the first part of the equation for damage. Basically how it’s atk-def then you do the modifiers. Is this still calculated the same so if they have less defense then they are going to have more trouble getting over that threshold. Moonton is probably afraid of giving the unit more defense because it would basically make them a better tank and damage dealer and that’s why you see them hitting like wet noodles because if they enemy has 10k defense and your tank dd has 11k at the high end they aren’t doing much when a damage dealer would have 15-17k attack to get over the defense of the enemies
Yep but hp based dealer have 80k "attack" how do they scale that because no matter how they do it atm is not enough

My Trusk is not trash. I had him doing 11m against Aracha in Void rift this week.
Yea I agree with mostly everything here except Trusk. He is a beast in GR1 and he tanks Codex as good as Olaque for me. Obviously he can't be used in Guild Boss but that isn't the end all be all of content. Which is the same thing with Rork here. He isn't meant to own Guild Boss, his kit has AOE damage. He is meant for alternative strategies for GR1, AMR as an off tank, and a useful Northern Lord.
For tank is either cc debuff slow Regen. Tank damage is suck
I think its a problem to have ATK buffers like Dolores and none to Def or HP damage dealers.
Something like +1% dmg based on max HP ir 8% based on def

Glacier gives atk. Atk does nothing for hp/def scaling heroes. Glacier is the worst set for them.

If you have a good glacier set it can give lot of hp, which gives more atk (+dmg scaled on hp)
So the pg receives double benefit from hp..

@@FranciB glacier itself doesn't give hp, it only gives atk stat based on your final hero hp. And atk stat contributes 0 damage for these special heroes, their damage comes only from the hp stat (or def). A Life Force set does for these specialized heroes what the Calamity set does for the generic dps heroes.

this is what happens when they forcefully try to create new heroes and ONLY focus on hero creation. them creating new heroes is honestly a waste of time by now, they should focus on content and give the hero creation a little rest for now

imo, the only two viable tank/dps hybrids are Wrath and Abomination.
Heroes whose dmg scales off of hp / def will never do comparable damage to good atk based damage dealers. Because then there will be zero incentive to bring an atk based dps that has much less survivability stats. A precedent must not be allowed to happen.
These heroes serve only one purpose and it is feature compression. If there is a game mode that has a hard restriction for class or soft restriction for block value for instance, or high survivability AND dps soft restriction, then you bring these guys. Seems like a really cool concept, I hope they capitalize on it in the future.

it doesnt help that they all have the wrong base stats, hp scaler with 4.8k atk on rork thats basically the same atk that wrath has, and thats high compared to a lot of the epic fighters xD. Azhor defence scaling, has higher base atk than he has defence, valeria for example has almost 6k atk why is a tank with defence scaling like azhor sitting at 3.2k defence

I used to love this game but once you get towards the end the game sucks creators make the game look good because they get paid irl and in game rewards there’s literally nonthing to do after you get a few good damage dealers and can beat gb 6 idk not feeling it anymore
Trusk is pretty good though. I got to gr 1-18 on my second account mainly because of him. Edit: Well...I would not use him on my main account, though. A tank would be slightly better. But I would need to try that out. I still like him and he has one of the very few backstories I read and enjoyed.
yep no doubt helps early but everything 19+ is the problem though yeah the kit of the hero is nice but the scaling is sad BUT backstorys design etc is dope
@@WorGuides I never saw him tried out on an end or late game account. That might be interesting. But the def boost should make him tanky enough to be used for faction stuff. Should. It is still a lot of "what-if".

But why would you ever build a tank to be a main dps? Thats what a lot of people are missing. Now build ghan in normal tank gear, beefy, he is going to do more damage than a Regulus in the same gear. These aren't supposed to be your new damage dealers, they are supplements TO your damage dealers. Not for Guild boss lmao, but having a tank that can actually put out a little better damage is the point.
Yes ghan does enough. Though for the rest ho have a viable even support dps role there is still dmg missing not a crazy ton because no need to be a main dps but still also not just a bit

The problem with non-attack based nukers, is they can spiral out of control. Raid has this problem. When non-attack nukers do more damage than attack-based nukers, the game gets very imbalanced, and attack based nukers lose viability. I’m kind of glad that ho/def based nukers in this game can’t compete with attack based nukers personally

the big problem is it diqualifies him from being viable as a dmg dealer anywhere really and i haven just run him in GB. U pretty much cant justify having him on the field and if u dont have him on the field his lord bonus also has no offensive cappabilities and when it comes to being a tank the biggest issue is he is a fighter so even if tanky he has 2 block so yeah...

usually it's gluttony, wrath or abom, I feel like he could fill a similar role

it's not even just this mechanic, this is a gamewide rarity problem. This game's hero pool outside of legos, it fucking sucks. There are so many bad epics, rares are basically all the way useless when it comes to damage. There's a reason why we're ALL using the SAME EPICS.
Moonton just continues to make EVERYTHING that isn't a legendary intentionally bad.
This mechanic is not hard, Raid can make characters like this not only multidimensional, but also useful while being able to do damage. I'm just so tired of defenders being stuck on the same gear stats, they're glorified place holders. Throw tank stats and forget about them, it's so damn boring at this point.
Going back on epics, just look through the gallery and count how many bad ones there are. Again, this isn't just a mechanic problem, it's a blatant RARITY issue when it comes to champions. They do not want us using anything that isn't a premium pull, and that's stupid.
It’s just disappointing. There’s like 7 elite heroes in the game and the rest are meh at best. Then they give us some new potentially elite heroes and nerf them immediately. Kind of ridiculous tbh.

Ghan is that great mix. But he has 1k more def base + a talent that gets up to 30% def + his skills go up to 500% AoE damage. All of that is a lot higher than with those other def scaling heroes, especially if you combine it.

I can see your point too i did the testing tried to make him work used him on different sets etc but ever since trusk/edith wanted to make a vid about the issues of hp/def based units so i judt combined the 2
Worguides is one of the very few content creators that actually tests and compares damage all the time. If he says in this assertive way that a hero sux - then, believe me, the hero sux big time.

Very true I put trusk in and he dies so I put olague or brokir in to tank. Fastidious gave trusk and S grade but I’m not sure what he is basing that off of
