I live in the uk and have the same car Sedona ts spec leather seats the lot. Lovely. I have the 2.9 Diesel engine. I did what you did to the maf. Plus I also changed the fuel filter. So easy to do only took 5mins. Runs smoother
How did you do fuel filter? I watched a video but it seems pretty hard to remove the pump
While that helped - I finished changing the spark plugs and PCV today... now back to 100%!

My 2010 Kia Sedona is at 210k miles now and had been giving 25mpg to 29mpg consistently between city and hwy driving. I put full synthetic oil and half quart of motorkote oil while doing yearly oil change. At least once or twice put sea-foam in gas tank while starting on long drives. That’s it pretty much. Running on all original parts, never had any break down or had a need to replace parts. I think filters also had not been changed since last over 60k miles.
Yes, I love my 2008! Still runs like a champ!
I just bought a 2010, and I'm getting 14-15mpg in mostly city driving. I live the van, but the fuel cost is killing me right now
My mileage suddenly dropped to 16mpg on a trip to Florida a couple weeks ago. Filter was way dirty and have changed that.
Still testing mileage but will try cleaning the mass flow sensor. I have already replaced the throttle body with a new one a year ago because mine died.
I have since replaced the air intake hose and that seemed to help even more... but, yes the mass air flow sensor was the main reason for my mpg loss... good luck - let me know how it goes.
@@CarsandEspresso it was a clogged air filter for me. Engine filter was quite dirty! Easy fix, for once.
@@ticosceninc.elsdexpertsfda7713 Since this video... I've replaced the PCV valve... And that has made the most difference...
O 2 sensor are kinda pricey but need changed too

I just purchase a used one, Kia Sedona 2019, I change all the filter, balance the tires. And I get from 32-50 miles per 1/4 of a tank. I am very disappointed. Also 40-60 mph steering wheel shack a lot. Anyone have ever had similar problem? Thank you in advance
Have another place balance your tires
Check the engine for codes. Check the front tires for dips on the inside and outside of the tires. Rotate the front tires to the rear. Vice - versa. My 2007 KIA Sedona gets 24 mpgs. 007 is right, if you want the best fuel mileage keep you speed under 60 mph.
Can you clean the throttle body next time? I'd like to know how to do it.
Sorry... I will show it next time... But just hold it open with a pair of pliers or something and the spray the heck out of it! Use a towel to grab some of the grease and dirt... Then let it sit for an hour before you drive... Sometimes the engine will idle rough for a few seconds until it burns everything away, then it will run smooth
I have a kia sedona 2006 3.8L V6 gas, before i was getting 520KM/full tank but after replacing spark plugs i am getting 300KM/Full tank

I just changed the valve covers on my 2007 KIA Sedona with a 3.8L V6. While I had the plenum off I changed the spark plugs and the coil packs. I didn't want to have to remove the plenum again any time soon. I had it serviced at 120,000 miles but I have neglected it for the next 160,000 miles. My first word of advice is to remember to change the PCV valve. After seeing the gunk inside my engine I ordered PCV valves for all my vehicles. Out of sight, out of mind.
As for your mpg mileage loss, do you have the correct sparkplugs and do they have the proper spark gap? Is the engine throwing any codes? Since you lost the fuel mileage after changing the sparkplugs I would think it had something to do with that. Did you connect the same coil packs to the same plugs? Did you plug the correct connector to the proper coil pack?

Replace that intake snorkel 20 online especially if you take long trips get rid of that tape
20 dollars sorry just replaeced mine couple months ago just finished valve cover gaskets and tune up 08 Sedona 130000 miles been a good van
Yes, yes, I'll get around to it... I put the tape during a trip we took and it's been fine ever since... 5 years ago...
@@James-fr3lw Did you add any kind of "glue" or "gasket maker" to the gaskets? Did you change the spark plugs while you were there?
@@James-fr3lw BTW - went to rockauto.com and picked up the $20 air intake hose - it's changed...
Yeah changed plugs,coils,pcv,plenum gasket,throttle body gasket, valve cover gaskets were the main reason for job front one will leak in time on alternator and synthetic oil change
Dude. No wonder your milage is down. That air filter needs to be replace not cleaned out..
One should not be driving above 60mph, unless of course in case of an emergency. MPG drops off exponentially above 55 or 60mph on almost every vehicle on the road today. Try the test again, and don't exceed 60mph. I think you'll like the MPG gain.
The speed limit was 75 mph... 55 would cause a driving hazard, don't you think?
@@CarsandEspresso There is absolutely no hazard in driving 60mpg on the right lane on a road with a 75mph speed limit. You have to understand that the primary reason why speed limits are that high, and getting higher, is because the oil companies know that they can sell more gasoline, and the municipalities know that they can get more tax revenue from those sales. We are just "pawns" in their little game, and it is up to us to use our God given knowledge to not be bamboozled by them.
@@mpgundercover8075 Have you driven in the Dallas area? While 75 MPH is the limit - it is often use as the minimum! Be safe!

Cars mpg by the manufacturer are done at speeds of 55.
The reason is the flow of air passing over a vehicle at 55 is breaking the stagnant air with best coefficient.
After 55, even @ 60, you drop mpg by 3-5%

75 (23% mpg is lost) you're pushing wind faster than your vehicle drag coefficient can offset it over the vehicle.
Think if it this way;
At 55, you're driving a wedge ==>
The faster you go, the less air can be displaced over the vehicle quickly and you end up driving a wall ==| because the volume of air you're attempting to move is unable to flow...like a clogged/stalling snowblower trying to displace too much at once
