My space bar is making weird noises and doesn't get pressed easily due to the mechanism because of overuse. Same for some other keys. How do i replace the mechanisms with new ones? Where to buy them?
Is the keyboard the same on MacBook Pro 2024 16 inch as on MacBook Air? I tried but I can not get the keycap unclick. Did not want to force not to brake it.
Thanks so much, days ago I got some beer accidentally poured into my MacBook, and the keys just got super sticky. Now they are fixed by your tutorial. By the way, I used laminated photo as remover and it worked perfectly without dental floss and also avoided damaging the switch underneath.
Thanks. I fixed my left Command key. Whatever fluff that was between the key cap and the switch blew away as the cap popped off. I never could figure out what was trapped in there. The switch was fine - very clean and free-articulating. snapped the cap back on et voila!
@@thecollegepicker Possibly, the laptop was given to one of my employee and He must have lost it, now i have the laptop without the white hinge and a loose key.
you shouldnt do this, just dont eat over your laptop ESPECIALLY drink because this happened to me and all my keys work fine after letting it dry overnight except for the S. which means i'll still have to pay to get it replaced
do not use just regular ISO, you need 99.9 absolute that is not available at all places. 70% has water inside even distilled will mess up your laptop and cause blue markings to show water damage if repaired later with Apple warranty
@@thecollegepicker it stains the board and not good. you never know if that dirt was dissolved and reabsorbed. at least that was the standard in Ukrainian repair stores. Like always putting new thermal paste)) but that saved me. thx for tutorial, who knew that my click air keyboard fro, 2013 will make a comeback)

Really need a tutorial for the space key!!!!
Worked great. Removed the salt causing the key to be sticky. Sliding and popping it back on was simple
Glad it helped
Thanks, it worked just fine, and the key functionality was restored to almost 100%.
almost 100?????
I followed the instructions, but I did not hear any "clicks." Do I have to lift more? Does it take a lot of force?
big help thanks man, got some crumbs under a key and it was bugging me, lol

Bro, you're amazing. Thank you so much!
Dont do this. The clips on the keys are super fragile. You WILL break one of the clips
what about clips on the macbook itself? are they fragile? i just think about replacement and don't care about they keys themselves
Did it and all good
I do not have this white hinge thingy, how do i fix it
Did you lose it?
@@thecollegepicker Possibly, the laptop was given to one of my employee and He must have lost it, now i have the laptop without the white hinge and a loose key.

What if the 70% doesn't get on the circuit because your only using enough to break up the sticky surface?
