In 1982 I rode my 60 pan from struthers ohio to tampa Florida. Stayed in Florida for 3 months and rode back for 6 months and left for Florida again my bike never failed me. Panheads are awesome bikes.

I couldn’t imagine doing a long trip with no rear suspension. The shocks are starting to go on my Softail and it sucks just getting around town .Every little bump, sewer, cap, changing the road, speed up or grooves in the road, rattles the shit out of the bike.
Way to persevere man not saying you don't know what you're doing a lot of people start projects run into issues and then sell the whole thing I'm glad you're not one of them we've all been there it sucks what a true Testament to man and and machine. Amen brother beautiful bike
I'm an old fart now. Back in 1994, I got me a 1960 chapper it was my fantasy since I was I little boy, I traded it for a 1941 Chevy car, I loved the look and sounds even painted the American flag like the easy rider movie, but after a few close calls I had to let it go I had to choose between stop drinking or the bike, there were times after getting home i was do drunk I couldn't get off the bike, it took me 22 years later to stop driving, .
