Good stuff👍 I busted a lower front link Stopped by my hobby store They didnt have any redcat stuff So we threw in some Samix scx10ii Titanium high clear links that were about 1/8-1/16 longer Changed them all out expect the upper rear links cause the kit didnt have some close in size So i backed out the link ends bout 3 turns on each end Now everything lines up nicely and my front tires dont rub when I turn Front tires hit the wall before the bumper and it added more articulation on stock shocks losi springs med front soft rear with no internal springs
DSM Offroad has their carbon 'Road Warrior' LCG comp chassis that just came out. Noticeably lowers the motor and the shock mounts maximize suspension geometry. I think this will dramatically change the handling/performance of the Ascent and at $100 USD, a great deal. Thanks for the video👍
For me weight depends alot as well. I like the rc4wd tires for my 15lb and proline for lighter truck. But love the idea and admire your driving skills.
I drove one also with a 2300 fusion pro, and it definitely has my style of wheel speed. I likey the powah!! Good run Logan they are pretty dope for 3 hundo.
I am fairly new to rock crawling I have a redcat everest 10 I have upgraded tires and wheels with brass weights on front I would like to know what axles will fit this truck and should I go with straight or portal?
I agree with you on your thoughts about the Hexfly servo. Probably the best RTR servo I've used. Honestly that should be the RTR standard. Much more usable than others. Slow and noisy but enough power to get started with. The upgrades you made look like they made a major improvement. Nice work Logan!!!
😂 yucky rtr demo electronics. First thing I do is yank them out on all rtrs. They've become a pieve of mine. Even the wife won't run them, I created a monster. # rcwifesrock
My Wendigo kit busted the transfer case gear where the pin connects to the plastic gear from the shaft on the 2nd run with a Holmes 2200kv outrunner. The gear teeth looked brand new.
If I hadn't accidentally drove my Ascent into a river I'd probably not have a VRD carbon right now. Wow is the VRD leaps and bounds better than the Ascent. A huge difference was the steering angle, another was the suspension among other smaller things.
Really fun to push the ascend limits! I think we can all agree this is a GREAT entry drug into the hobby! Agreed that there are indeed better trucks out there but it's only fair to take cost into account too. Would you see that bang for the buck this is maybe the best value out there? Maybe 80-90% of the best performer but 50-60% of the cost? What are your thoughts?
Id do performance video and price comparison between it and the vrd and pro for totals after mods but gotta modify the redcat to be at the same level as the other two
Logan do you think some deez loopz would help this setup? Would they help with the torque twist? And should the battery be moved to the other side of the skid to reduce the torque lift
Deez bands help about anything. They are more effective on longer shocks. Not a good solution to torque twist that’s largely caused by geometry and too high of gearing
Don't mean to keep posting different comments but you can also flip the rear link mounts on the axle if you find they get hung up. The front changes the pinion angle to much and binds
Hello Logan, I've tried to send you a message via instagram several times now but keep getting a non-delivery message. I'm sure it's something I'm doing wrong. I'm very interested in the custom made sliders and bumpers for the SCX6 and 'am hoping to get the contact info for the guy who makes them. If I cannot get Instagram to work, is there another form of contact that's acceptable to you?
Good stuff👍

Just got mine in red last night. Already installed spares i had laying around in it. Waiting for snow tonight to play around
I b love the fusion pro the slow control is soooo satisfying 🎉
The Gen 8 outer portal covers will work, but not the internal part of the portal.
I think for a person that is new to the crawling side of the hobby with a small budget, this truck is the ticket.
Great starter truck

Damn that’s build is up there with the upgrades 😮💨
I know your a RPRC team driver but you should try out DSM's chassis for the Redcat Ascent.
Unfair Advantage link riser mini T front soft springs the front will stay planted. Your right for the price its a very good performance oriented rig.

Now I know exactly what to put on mine
I would like to see you put that link riser on these other guys are talking about and see if it works as good as claimed.

The unfair advantage rear link riser would give you the anti squat you want.
That last line was killer
Thanks
Trim the wheel wells out and you’re golden 🤙
Recommendations for snipping stock ascent tire lugs ? No cut & shuts
Kool REDCAT and with a new bed it will kill💥💥💥

price
@@shaynejenkins446 Worth saving more money for it

You’re pretty dead on
Beautiful scenery. Nice video man, well done. Like button energized.
Thanks
How are the universal joints standing up? I'm on my 3rd set in the front axle.
@Ryan Short makes a rear link riser that changes the game of that truck
Logan, Can you say its the best you have seen for the money? cuz thats what i am seeing
As a RTR how do you think it compares to the Fordyce?
How do I get n touch with dezs bands? They don’t answer on fb 🤷♂️
Id do performance video and price comparison between it and the vrd and pro for totals after mods but gotta modify the redcat to be at the same level as the other two
It’s not really a fair test with those trucks they blow the Redcat away
Countdown!
Great content!!
Sometimes im jealous of how high bite area you crawl
What’s up checking in from a very soggy 805 Cali area.
How's the weather in T.O.
Could you throw all that on an interceptor chassis???
I’ve have this same question for about a week and no answers anywhere I ask! If you find out let a brother know lol
Good stuff

What area of the country are you in?
We need to get you some lexan scissors 😂
Stock truck rubs that’s not my fault lol. I have some
😂 big ones 😂 jk
@@westdesertwheeler I ain’t sayin it is just that some trimming needs to happen 😂
The fusion se has alot better speed control. I even fit an 11 tooth pinion
Might be beneficial to put the internal springs back in the front or use a bungee up front to keep the nose down. I notice it helps on my ascent
Can also tuck the front bumper in one more screw hole if you find it's getting in the way. Just a couple tips I find that help my style of driving
Don't mean to keep posting different comments but you can also flip the rear link mounts on the axle if you find they get hung up. The front changes the pinion angle to much and binds
The fusion se has better speed control than the fusion pro?? Not sure about that…
The Gen 8 axles will not work
No black dog, today, to play with a red cat ?
This Ascent deserves a more beautiful body. Then, for the price, it'd be perfect.
Body is functional though
Instead of saying overdrive or underdrive, we can say something like "drive differential".
