I've been car shopping with my sister for the last few days, and she had a lot of options. I found this video to be incredibly helpful and it really touched on so many points that most reviews don't. She just decided today that she has chosen the 2021 Tucson, and I am happy for her.
On a side note, I own a 2013 Elantra with 113k miles on it, and I drove it across the country towing a 1500 lb. UHaul. It hasn't let me down at all, even though that model year is supposed to be garbage. I love my Hyundai!

Thank you very much, Gold Pony, for you thorough reviews. I found them to be the most comprehensive and well- explained car reviews in RUclips. After watching your review, I bought back in October 2020 a brand new 2021 Hyundai Tucson Ultimate, White with Beige Leather interior, just like the one in your review. I'm very happy with it.
Thank you very much for your advice and review.

      @@Luwee808 The car is excellent.
It's a Limited Ultimate trim and has everything.
It's comfortable and has a smoth ride. At the same time, it's small very versatile and easy to park in tight spaces.
In all, I think I did a very good purchase with this 2021 Hyundai Tucson Limited Ultimate.

    • @j.alvarez9568

@@Luwee808 Good day Luwee808, Sorry for not answering until now.
The 2021 Tucson is a fantastic car. Mine was the Ultimate trim which is even above the Limited version and has all the options, all the electronics, all the gadgets, all the high tech, panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, navigation, etc.
It was protected for almost two years inside a garage because of the pandemic, but every time I drove the small SUV it was a true pleasure. So agile, so versatile, easy to operate, easy to handle, easy to park between two cars.
My Tucson Ultimate was a dream.
And I say "was", because yesterday, I traded-in for a brand new 2023 Santa Fe Calligraphy which is also a dream.
Hyundai SUVs are extremely well made, and I recommend them above Honda, Toyota and Nissan because you can get more options and perks with Hyundai and at a lesser price that the other 3, including better and longer warranties.
      Take care!

I just bought a 2021 Tucsan Ultimate . I watched this video, not sure why, 19 min. was way to long for a video that "was as expected". From my own expectations I thought this car was going to ride hard and bumpy and have no acceleration power. I was quite surprised how smooth and comfortable the drive actually is. Acceleration wise, I won't die entering the highway like I thought I would sometimes while driving my Jeep Cherokee. Never owned Hyundai but pleasantly surprised. Great SUV for the price and all it's perks.

I once owned a Jeep Cherokee Limited and it didn’t know how to get out of its own way! It was such a dud. It was stolen out of my driveway one night and the thieves got down to the end of the block and dumped it. Even they knew they weren’t going to get enough speed to get away. I was disappointed that it was recovered. I was already looking for a new car. Lol! Oh that car...

I test drove the Ultimate, loved it but the cooled seats (the fan inside the seat) made for a less than comfortable seat vs the Limited without vented seats. Also the backup cam on the 2020 one I just drove was blurry. Can't afford a great camera like other brands?

I really love the design and options on the Hyundai, but I drive a 2020 GMC Terrain with the option of 2wd or 4wd. I have a mix of city and highway driving and leave it mostly on 2wd. I have been averaging 27.4 fuel economy and I’m not a delicate driver. The poor fuel economy on the Hyundai is what has kept from me from leasing one. Excellent review.

The reliability probably took a major dump with their models that came with the DCT transmission. There have been constant issues with them that even lead to a class action lawsuit. They have now discontinued that transmission but many of them are still out there and will likely effect their reliability scores for years to come. My 2017 Tucson is currently in for a second transmission replacement due to the issues. Otherwise I really love my 2017 Tucson, so much so that I'm considering a newer one with a different transmission just to get away from the DCT.

Hey nice review, but doesn’t the smart trunk work different on Hyundai’s? I thought all you need to do was lock the doors, keep the key on your person, and stand near the trunk for 3 seconds and it will automatically open. If you didn’t want it to open then all you need to do is step away from the trunk.

My luck, I'd break it while cleaning the dash. I prefer the infotainment built into the dash, which actually cost more for a car company's to do, from what I've read. But I love Hyundai's, I have a 2012 Azera limited and I adore it.

In December 2020 in Columbus Ohio I can get a SE Value For about $21500 in the SE for about $19,600The VALUE is well worth the extra $1200 or so. If I am going to spend more than $25000 on an SUV it would have to be a little larger than this one.

Below average reliability but comes with one of the best warranties? I don't get that. Either Hyundai enjoys throwing money away or they fight you when its time to use that warranty.

If you buy a Hyundai (especially the Tucsan and Santa Fe) be prepared to spend minimum of $175-$500 every month on BS problems you will never experience in a quality car like an Honda. Every other month you will have to replace 1 0f 6 to 8 catalytic converters that go out for no reason like clock work one after the other. Your gas line will need replacing, then your gas tank that rotted from the inside for no apparent reason. Your check engine light will be on more than it is off. When you finally replace the entire engine and decide you've had enough, and sell it for next to nothing, you'll buy yourself an Acura and realize that it never needs maintenance, that it isn't normal to be without your car every other month because it's in the shop again, and you'll swear like I did to NEVER buy another Hyundai again!!!

Did this all happen to your vehicle, if so what year? We have a 2016 Santa Fe that has only needed a wheel hub/bearing and rear wiper motor in 185,000 kms. The original brakes lasted until 130,000 kms. It has been a very reliable vehicle with low repair costs.

The engines are ok till the next gen Tucson arrive. The gen Tucson will have the same powertrains as the new Sonata.
