@@InfamousB9Dorne is the weakest of the 7 kingdoms with the smallest population and Doran admits that in the books. He says the Targaryen’s exaggerated Dorne’s strength and numbers because it was advantageous to the Targaryen’s not to make it seem as a weaker kingdom beat them. He said Dorne leaned into those exaggerated numbers because it was advantageous to Dorne to appear stronger than it actually was. The reason Dorne withstood the Targaryen’s militarily was because of the desert and the limited entrances into Dorne.
There is a reason Dorne only sent 10,000 “spears” to the Trident during Robert’s rebellion, that’s all it could send. Doran’s sister was married to the crown prince, and his nephews and nieces were in line for the throne. His uncle a King’ Guard, Prince Lewyn Martell, was the leader of the Dornish contingent as well. If Dorne could have sent more men to the Trident it would have.

Doran didn't want anything. He didn’t help the Targarians for 19 years and remembered them when Daenerys got dragons
Doran is a nice subversion of the puppetmaster trope, while Varys and Littlefinger play into it more. All his secrecy and scheming amount to nothing, the Lannisters' fall does not come of his hands.
Lannisters haven't fallen yet, kevan rules in kings landing and cersie will (most probably) win her trial. And tommen and Marcella are fine as well. I think the martells will get some kind of revenge in the end tho, with nymeria on the small council something exciting will happen in the next book for the martells.
@@mradul2474 of the Martells' hands, perhaps, but through none of Doran's schemes. At best, because of his unruly daughter and the Sand Snakes bumbling into it or because of Varys wanting to put fAegon on the throne.

I imagine this must have been cathartic for Princess Arianne. Finally being trusted with the grand scheme that the Prince of Dorne had set in motion since before Prince Oberyn embarked for the capital. Especially now that Aegon is about to upset the current power balance considering how the Crown is in disarray with the murder of the Lord Hand. Too bad Prince Quentyn was turned into ash 😂
Quentyns story truly is tragic though, I feel bad fir that kid.

This should have been adapted in the TV show. Why would they mess up Dorne like that?

@@mradul2474 Well, pretty much anywhere you can get audio books. Admittedly, it didn’t come free for me. I’ve got an Audible subscription so I just got the books with my free monthly credits. It’s not expensive, and I find it worthwhile to listen to the official audio recordings. So, that’s how I got them.

Arianne didn't care that Arys soiled his cloak just like Rhaenyra didn't care that Criston did. They both used one thing to gain power over these men and they used it well
That's a bit of a stretch, Arianne seduced Arys to get control of Myrcella. Rhaenyra got with Cole because she was a young girl who had feelings for him, she gained nothing from being with him.
Criston Cole had nothing to offer Rhaenyra. She fucked him out of pure desire. Thats why hes so spiteful.

Tbh when you consider how much the show left out from the books they still had enough source material to cover for it to not have become a complete trainwreck. They could've had some flashbacks to roberts rebellion as well instead of just making up the later seasons as they went along and could've gotten martin to help write some of the episodes like he did for season 4.
Yep, but instead they went off on their own and decided they somehow new how to tell a story on their own once they got past where the books were.The seasons after the last of the current books basically became bad fanfiction.

The Martells betrayed the Targarians. The Martells did not help the Targarians for 19 years, because of which Viserys and Daenerys could easily be killed
