- Madmaheshwar Temple - The Second Kedar
Madmaheshwar (also called as MadhyaMaheshwar and Madhmaheshwar) is a quaint little
holy town named after the sacred Madhyamaheshwar Temple of Lord Shiva. It is situated at
an altitude of 3490 mts above sea level.
About Madmaheshwar Temple
The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva is part of the famous Panch Kedars. This is the fourth
temple to be visited in the Panch Kedar Pilgrimage circuit; the other temples being
Kedarnath, Tungnath, Rudranath, and Kalpeshwar. There are two other smaller shrines, one
for Shiva's consort Parvati and the other dedicated to the Ardhanarishwara.
The middle (Madhya) or navel of the bull, considered a divine form of Shiva, is worshiped at
this temple. Bhima, the second Pandava brother is believed to have built this temple and
worshiped Shiva here. To the right of the main temple, there is a small temple where the
marble image of Saraswati is installed in the sanctum.
At Madhyamaheshwar Temple entire village shows their presence at the evening aarti
performed at the temple and the guests are greeted. One can feel the spiritual vibes in the
proximity of the temple. The locals refer Madhyamaheshwar to as Madhamaheshwar which
literally means the Drunken god.
Opening Date of Madmaheshwar Temple Kapat 2024
The opening date of Madmaheshwar Temple is 22 May 2024. Here is the tentative step wise
step guide of the last year's Gate opening process of Madhyamaheshwar temple.
. The Doli of lord Madhyamaheshwar has started its journey on the 20 May from
Omkareshwar temple of Ukhimath.
. The first stop of the Yatra was the Rakeshwari temple at Rasi where Doli performed the
traditional rituals on the 21 May.
. It will reach Gondar village on the 21 May and will be stayed there for a night halt.
. On the 22nd of May around 11:20 am, gates were opened by Pujaris following all the
rituals.

Madmaheshwar Temple will be closing date will be updated soon. The closing date of the
Madmaheshwar temple is declared on the occasion of Vijaydashmi/Dussehra. Last year
Madmaheshwar temple was be closed on 18 November 2022.

খচ্চরে দিনে দিনে ঘুরে চলে আসা যায়। অর্ধেক খচ্চর অর্ধেক হেটে এই রাস্তায় যাওয়া যায় নাn। হয় পুরো হেঁটে নয় তো পুরো খচ্চরে চেপে আপনাকে যেতে হবে ।
