I just got the Akai Fire ...the lights are intimidating ...so I'm watching "In The Mix" videos over and over while drinking red wine ...I recommend watching 20 + times so it sinks in 😂🍷
TIP: Change the color scheme of your controller To edit the the colors of your controller navigate to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Image-Line\FL Studio 20\System\Hardware specific\Akai FL Studio Fire" and edit the file with the colors you want. Note1: Each color is written in hex mode. Use an hex color picker. Note2: PlayingNote is the color of the notes playing on Piano Roll. ; PlayingNoteUser is the color of the notes you're playing. i.e: C#5 turns pink while you're pressing it. Note3: The section [altcolors] is activated when you press Alt+Note Mode. Basically you can set another color scheme there. Enjoy.
Fantastic. Thought I had studied all of the abilities of the Fire controller, but I never fail to learn something new from this channel. Adjusting note properties across multiple channels is actually faster with the controller. Nice

This, for sure. Many publishers just don't do thorough manuals anymore, given the internet, and how inclined customers are to turn to RUclips for tutorials. I miss having the complete how-to in the box.
seeing you being the one to show off this device is what just convinced me to buy it. That and I love FL Studio and am glad to get something made FOR it. Thanks!

Just for beats mostly, but you could check out Spark LE. Has the row of 16 steps so you can sequence each drum. And has a melodic pitch mode. About $150 these days.
Any idea on how to make a hi hat sound tripled in the FPC with the turn of a knob ? or would there need to be a hi hat triplet wave file loaded into the FPC pad ?
Hi Master of Fruity Loops :) Now, that Novation is finally going to release the FLKey Controller would you rather recommend to choose the Akai Fire or it's the better way to go directly for the Novation jewel? Thank you in advance for your reply. BR, Cory
Thanks for the great videos man, I got this fire right here and I'm thinking can I get playback of samples somehow when I scroll through the browser mode?
Thanks, I actually figured this out by accident :-D. I just have to say I am very satisfied with the Fire, gonna upgrade the software too soon, such a good deal for a hobbyist like me to get a controller and the signature edition for 346€ total if you put your birthday to the purchase date of your upgrade.
Another hidden feature: Select ANY channel in DRUM Omni Channel Mode (DRUM, Press Select, rotate to Omni Channel), ALT+Step Button. I think this is nice :-)
now that my Fire has arrived, I was able to test many of these tricks and found them successful. Thatis, except the light show when FL studio is off. It doesn't happen for me :( but at least that's the least important one.
dude, u are awesome, thank you so much! do you know of any "return to zero" feature!? i like to change the entire pitch of a beat/song, then instantly return the pitch to normal. with a computer, (windows), we can hold down the "alt" key, while clicking on the knob (pitch) and it will return to it's default value. i can't seem to find out how to do that with the fire. i tried "link to controller" to a knob in the user bank. it moved the entire pitch. but when using the knob, it actually never goes back to the exact zero point. the ALT key on the fire doesn't do it. any ideas?! thank you for everything. your videos are my favorite! cheers :)
Hello! I've been using my akai fire for a while now but I had a question. The volume knob: if I'm in FL studio, and I drag a sound into the kick channel, and I use the volume fader to reach -12dB is this the same as clicking the sound and adjusting the specific sound to hit at -12 on my master channel? Or will doing it like this make for bad leveling due to some sounds being louder at default?
Has anyone been able to see the 'lightshow' he talks about at the end? Not a big deal, just curious. Production has always been a dream of mine and I've only started actively pursuing it in the last few months. The Fire came out at the right time. I had been looking at several Akai controllers and had my options down to 3. Then I saw this. Had it a little over a week and I love it. Probably going to get a second one in a couple weeks.
5:26 Is there a way to have the "light show" active whilst im still using my PC with FL closed? My Flkey 37 drops into this mode but the fire just looks dead at the side of me :(
Is there any way to control Slicex Warp points or to control any loop editing of any sort with Fire 🔥?

*1. How can i see the fx on each track on the master but without making it "Extra large"* 2. How can we modify shortcuts *3. How can i make Edison open at the size i want everytime, it keeps oppening at a small size even if i modify it*
Say i have a chopped sample from a video, can i assign a single sample to a single button for each of the 64 pads? Looked everywhere but am having trouble that guidance. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks! :)
Cool. Has somebody tried to use akai fire with ableton live? do the pads control directly the loops? It is the function i'm looking after on 16 tracks, i don't need actaully other functions (I do that with other controlers).
Thanks for making these videos, I've learned loads from them. I wonder if you'd be interested in making a video on vocal comping? I've seen quick swipe comping in Logic, and a similar workflow in Studio One. It would be great to get some tips on doing this in FL Studio as there doesn't seem to be much out there on the topic. I've tried a little in the playlist just chopping up takes but it seems like a pretty clunky process and I imagine a pro like you would have a better workflow.........:)
Thank you, yeah there are really fast ways to comp vocals in FL studio. I think I show it at the end of my recording video in the FL 20 playlist on my channel but I can definitely make another video about it :)
I've just been and checked it out, I remember it now, really good video. What I was thinking of was more along the lines of having 4 full takes of a vocal and selecting the best parts of each to comp together. You work with a good vocalist though so I guess it's less necessary for you ;).... Logic has a really nice "QuickSwipe" mode for comping like this and I was wondering if something similar was possible in FL Studio, or if there was a third party plugin for the purpose.
Is there any way to increase the sensitivity of the pads? Not the velocity, just the sensitivity. I want to get this but I've heard it's easy to miss notes
I had this for around a year and a half and I literally only used it about 3 times. I REALLY tried to make it useful for me and my workflow but I could not. the step sequencer is pretty much useless when you can't even change the size of the internal grid to make more advanced drum patterns. The piano feature as well was pretty useless as it had NO velocity control and the notes would often randomly stutter if you played them with the pads. Pretty much the only intuitive thing about the FIRE is the step sequencer but its so limited in terms of being locked to a large grid that you can't really do anything intricate with it. I bought mine off ebay for $95 from a dude who funnily enough was also selling it because he didn't really end up using it either. I just sold mine today for the exact same reason. And I say this coming from an FL user of 10 years. If you already have a set workflow, this isn't going to make anything easier or faster for you. In fact, it will probably make things slower and just waste your time more. The ONLY time i'd reccomend this is to a completely new user of FL, so they can learn first on the controller and then build a workflow around the controller. But IMO if you already know more or less what you're doing you really do not need this at all. I would rather buy something like the Akai LPD8 which is just some simple drum pads and some knobs you can assign to anything.
So I’m really incorporating the fire into my workflow and I’m trying to link the FPC ADSR parameters to the encoder knobs and it’ll work as far as linking them but once linked the fpc adsr knob will move by the encoders but it will not actually adjust the adsr parameters. If that makes sense. Do you know anything about this?
Question just getting started and looking at the fire with fl studio it’s about 249.00 or I can pick up an akai apc40 mk1 for 235. What would you recommend?
Are they ever going to update the Akai Fire? Pan filter resonance EQ but no reverb? Just sad. They might as well add delay and possibly distortion. Also, how the spectrogram read out can be shown they need to add a visual read of a parametric eq. Would be more intuitive as one may want to eq (see what the hell I'm doing) straight from the Akai Fire. An update should have smaller knobs to allow for the effects to be an individual unit. Or increase its size slightly to accommodate for the addition of these new parameters. Hopefully this message reaches the people that could and definitely should make this happen.
Interesting idea..it is a controller so you can always map the knobs to whatever parameters you want. There is a custom script or 2 for this unit being worked and discussed on the FL Sudio forums. I"d suggest checking there and posting your .02. Cheers
I started making beats on hammerhead(look it up) then fl studio 3 came along. pirated that shit for years but I finally just dropped cash on pro version. reverse upgrades for life lol
Can you please tell me some good sample packs for shakers. (shakers like in "Nothing to lose") I looked everywhere but I couldn't find one´s that I liked. That would be awesome!
I think those were from my own sample pack (I have a video where I give it away for free) try also looking in the mode audio folder in the FL studio browser
I have been patiently waiting for someone to design the ultimate fl studio controller since fl studio 4, for four years(thats a twister). I think they need to make a keyboard controller version with one big setup like the akai mpk series. The extra sliders and rotaries are not necessary(being that it would built for fl studio and similar to the fire controls). I currently have an m-audio code and dont find myself using the pads since they dont integrate so fast with the fpc as well as i never really use 16 shot kits. Nor do i use the sliders or rotaries. Although if you took away the pads from my m-audio code and say if it was an fl studio controller, i wouldnt need 16 pads because you can use the 16 pad feature the fire introduces into the step sequence pads. If they did, they should utilize the upper section of the keyboard for a full 32 steps of pads basically integrating the same feature the fire has but with a 32 pad lay out, along with a larger visual feedback screen. Id pretty much pay any amount for something like this long as it falls under 1k for a 61 key version. The thing about fl studio is, it really has been a legendary product to have immediate control and visual of your step sequencing. That alone is a powerhouse feature. Thats why we are so sucked into our screen, the usability is great. You can create and edit your patterns just as fast as any mpc user i dont care who they are. Really speed isnt always the key feature to music creation, nothing wrong with taking it slow. There is no in between with fl studio users. Creating essentially an fl studio work horse into a keyboard is the best approach. Not saying a workstation such as the mpc-x with a full display and software integrated. I would say a keyboard controller integrated with the fire along with 4(maybe more!)rows and 32 steps of pads alone is putting more usability as your finger tips in one place. This product is a great step to hardware support for fl studio but it can be greater. I hope this gets passed along to developers and a potential future product
Today I show some more features of the new Akai Fire controller. Not all the controls are immediately apparent so hopefully this video uncovers a few of them and helps you take control of Fire like never before :)

Nice breakdown. So, I have had the Akai Fire since it has been out, but I have not seen anyone explain pressing ALT+NOTE/SNAP while in note mode. A color shift between the keys happens. Great video! Can you please tell me if there is a quantize option in fire ? Thanks
T- gate It’s a controller for fl studio, so yes. It also defaults to a quantized grid because it’s a literal sequencer
Any idea on how to make a hi hat sound tripled in the FPC with the turn of a knob ? or would there need to be a hi hat triplet wave file loaded into the FPC pad ?
First off, another great video! Is there any way for Slicex to chop a 1 bar region I've created, into 8 equal pieces automatically?

dude, u are awesome, thank you so much! do you know of any "return to zero" feature!? i like to change the entire pitch of a beat/song, then instantly return the pitch to normal. with a computer, (windows), we can hold down the "alt" key, while clicking on the knob (pitch) and it will return to it's default value. i can't seem to find out how to do that with the fire. i tried "link to controller" to a knob in the user bank. it moved the entire pitch. but when using the knob, it actually never goes back to the exact zero point. the ALT key on the fire doesn't do it. any ideas?! thank you for everything. your videos are my favorite! cheers :)

@@olaftheblack9172 ah I see what you mean. Studio one has a Greta feature for it too. Trust me we take 20 takes on each phrase like everyone else!
Is there a way to use the Drums Piano Roll step editing methodology reflected in the Fire? Thx
Can you please do more n depth tutorial with fire in performance mode?
Check out my Akai fire video on the Spinnin talent pool RUclips channel
Is there any way to increase the sensitivity of the pads? Not the velocity, just the sensitivity. I want to get this but I've heard it's easy to miss notes
Can i display the bar counter "Song Position" on Akai Fire?
I would rather buy something like the Akai LPD8 which is just some simple drum pads and some knobs you can assign to anything.
the pads are velocity sensitive, aren't they? are there settings for it yet?
They are velocity sensitive but turns off by default. I'm waiting for an update where it will become an option
@@inthemix Was there an update to this?
Thank you bro
Hi, can fire be used for performance mode ? please make a vid quick or simply reply very confused....
Thanks!!
I have the fire and barely use it, i'd go with the mk1
Do the sliced samples of SliceX only map to the the bottom 16 pads or all 64?
this thing is really useful
Yeah it's pretty handy :)
thank u:)
Cheers
Is there a way to edit pattern length from the controller?
I’m getting this!
This with some sliders would be it 🔥
I started making beats on hammerhead(look it up) then fl studio 3 came along. pirated that shit for years but I finally just dropped cash on pro version. reverse upgrades for life lol
Mine dosnt go into light show mode.. Is there a way to enable it manually?
how do i get all the pads RED and WHITE from start up ?:D
Can you please tell me some good sample packs for shakers. (shakers like in "Nothing to lose") I looked everywhere but I couldn't find one´s that I liked.
That would be awesome!
I think those were from my own sample pack (I have a video where I give it away for free) try also looking in the mode audio folder in the FL studio browser
Thank you for the answer! :D
I want one for my FL20!
