Heads up! I began experiencing medial knee pain that most likely was the result of a overuse or a degenerative meniscus condition. I'm a runner and decided to have it checked out in case it was something serious, but my knee x ray was normal. The orthopedist did some tests, suggested an MRI and immediately recommended surgery if there was any indication of a meniscus tear. My bullshit alarm went off right away which prompted me to go with a rigorous physical therapy approach instead, and I'm glad I did. I'm back to normal as the result of conditioning stability muscles that were neglected. Avoid surgery for degenerative knee conditions if at all possible and commission a reputable physical therapist, but you have to be committed and do the rehab routines everyday! Motor on through the pain and it will pay off.
What kind of physical therapy did you do? I’m 61 with some discomfort in my medial meniscus… on and off. It’s a pain in the A*+. But I feel that it’s not a major tear. I usually just apply pressure on it and run for a few minutes and it goes away temporarily. Just wondering what else I can do myself in terms of self therapy. Thanks.

I injured my meniscus moving furniture while pushing with my knee. Whatever happened in my knee it caused my kneecap to move out of place and I had a lot of swelling..over a year later and I still have swelling. I had my doctor do surgery on it and he said that the cartilage has worn off part of my kneecap. He said all he did in the surgery was irrigate my knee and put cortisone in it. Its frustrating to me that this injury has turned into this situation. I can't help thinking this doctor could have done more. He had me going to physical therapy and doing things I shouldn't have been doing at the time and I feel this led to the cartilage wearing away. My knee stays full of fluid. Hes drained it 3 times.

We re in August 2021 , in March 2021 I hit my knee against one of those metal towing hitch coming out of the front bumper of a Rav 4 It did hurt at first but I thought it's all good I m still standing, 2 days later I had a physical activity planned before going I thought my knee is not 100% but I can still do it, long story short I ended up with a sprained ankle. My doctor later told me there s a possibility that your meniscus is torn until this day I m not walking the same way I used to , its a terrible feeling I hear a pop everytime I bend my knee going to see a physio I might need a surgery though
Behind my knee and the outer side of my knee hurts so bad but the doc has t called me back yet. I can't even stand on my own with out help and my knee locks... And it stings like a bee sometimes... Idk what's wrong
My girlfriend builds up scare tissue rather quickly, is there a way to heal from a tear without surgery? The last surgery she got her knee froze up and won’t go past a 90° angle even with physical therapy daily.
Let's say the MCL is torn & you're managing it with braces, biofreeze, massaging etc. Will it get worse over time or will you just have that discomfort?
The medial aspect of my right knee seems to pop out of joint, and there is an audible "pop" when my knee goes back into joint. When it pops out, it sort of locks my knee in a painful position. It is getting worse. I was helping my neighbor change a tire on a full size pickup truck. The tire hit me on the side of my knee, as I was taking it off of the vehicle. What do this think are the chances of this healing itself?
I have the same issue but I hurt mine playing around at wrestling practice in high school. It will get stuck from time to time while in a bent or dynamic position and Is very hard to get the knee back into its proper place. Hurts like hell, well I’ve had two arthroscopic surgeries and they didn’t help that symptom at all. I love grappling to this day but have gotten away from it because I never know when my knee will slip out. It’s been 12 years since my initial injury and today while stretching I felt it try to slide out and caught it before it did. Good luck, you will learn to work around it.
Good info I'm 66 healthy but in last 5 months both my knees are in excruciating pain when I stand up or stoop down , so painful takes my breath away , I am the only caregiver for my wife fighting breast cancer ,I have way too much to do .
Doctor... i have a horizontal oblique tear on lateral meniscus... is surgery or physiotherapy is needed to fix this

Am a rugby player in kenya and I think I have a meniscus tear, oi need your help
Is it a Fracture? Or Fully Torn?
Because it’s not gonna Grow back. They need to get a Graft from your Leg and Use it for the Tendon.
When I sit on ground crossed legs, I experience pain while straightening my right leg. The pain is behind my right. Kindly help.

@@Jesus-Is-King19 Thank you for your reply. Sounds like the very same issue.

Good info I'm 66 healthy but in last 5 months both my knees are in excruciating pain when I stand up or stoop down , so painful takes my breath away , I am the only caregiver for my wife fighting breast cancer ,I have way too much to do . But am slowly succumbing to the pain . Can you fix both at same time far as weight bearing ability
These stretches have made a world of difference in my pain level. Try them out. I don’t know this guy I just happened to stumble across the video and it’s helped so much. Sending strength to your wife!
