      Yeah - i discovered it just recently, while making a 150 m or so ivy covered fence for a project - when it was a single wall in archicad it was just couple of leaves on it, when I disected it to 5m pieces it was fine, like you show it here

    • @FSvizzard
      @FSvizzard 2 года назад

      not anymore :) never thought it could have smth to do with of the divination of the surface. Do you think that is also a workaround for gras that gets blended out if you move a certain amount away with the camera? Sometimes 3d gras looks really good and sometimes something is wrong. Like if Lumion couldnt handle to render a larger area of 3d gras. I did play around with subdivieded surfaces, but it didnt change a thing with the gras

    • @dominikgomoka8541
      @dominikgomoka8541 2 года назад

      @@FSvizzard this issue you described is solved by manipulating grass size - I think value of 0.5 in grass size is more less 50 meters distance from camera where the grass will be rendered with 3d geometry. the larger grass size the further it shows in renders

    Great idea, thank you! In my case, I'll use it to create private-hedge sections much easier/quicker than Lumion does natively (obviously with a mass rather than plane, yet leveraging your tip).

    I never understood why the Lumion crew never does tutorials like this. Instead they make tutorials on the very basics.
    In any case Lumion is going the way of the dodo. I'm switching to Twinmotion this year. More features, ray tracing, more optimised engine at a third of the price.

    • @NunoSilva3d
      @NunoSilva3d  2 года назад +2

      Cannot comment on why they don’t do it. About Twinmotion, I think ray tracing there is nice but the issue is there is taking about 1h to render.

    • @gizmonomono
      @gizmonomono 2 года назад +1

      @@NunoSilva3d For photos, in my experience it takes almost the same time as Lumion, but with better results. Also, the fact that they have a roadmap so you can see what they're working on is also a plus. And once again the price is more appealing 😁
      I'm still using Lumion, but in the course of this year I will definitely be switching my rendering software.

    • @craigstephens93
      @craigstephens93 2 года назад +2

      @@gizmonomono I have just recently made the switch to Twinmotion. I just feel that act3d has sat on their ass for too long and haven't made enough progress despite the ridiculous cost. Even though I will concede that Lumion still beats Twinmotion for photo-realism, vegetation and Render styles; TM is miles ahead with everything else. Lumion is like Apple OS - very clean and User-friendly; TM is like Microsoft/windows - clunky but very logical and 100% customisable. Regarding Nuno's comment on Rendering time - this is certainly not true for me - I just rendered 40 HD images today all with Pathtracer enabled, it took around 3 minutes to do the lot. With TM, you also now have the cloud allowing client/other users to access and explore your project through a browser, and it's also compatible with VR. After 9 years of Lumion, glad I made the switch.

    • @gizmonomono
      @gizmonomono 2 года назад +2

      @@craigstephens93 I've been trying it out for the past few months. For interiors it's 10 times better than Lumion. In exterior shots I can still get good results with Lumion, but TM is just as good. You are on point with everything you said.
      Another good thing about TM is the assets. Lumions library is vast, but it's full of unusable 10 year old models.
      In time TM could also transfer to Unreal 5, so with Lumen and Nanite the possibilities would be endless.
