Yes, you have absolutely right and I played a bit to far from the arrangement there I suppose. As you see I have written that I´m playing the melody (arrangement) freely from the lead sheet but in the bar 13th I should have played more like the arrangement. I see it that one can start from an arrangement but improvise around it and that is what I´m doing in this video to make it more musically. In other of my arrangement videos I´m playing stricly as it has been written so it´s a different way of interpret the arrangement. I have understand that it´s more educational to play exact as it´s written. Thanks for comment and enlight me of this Guillermo.
Hi Thomas ! Really great, ...excellent performance, i consider you a very talented guitarist ! Merry Christmas to you and your family ! Sorry for my not perfect English !
Makes me glad you like the sound . There are actually T-bear pickups made in Sweden and you get the link to the website here. www.t-bear.se/directions.html I have a singlecoil to the bridge and a splitable humbucker to the neck. /best
Just discovered you Thomas and I'm sure glad I did. Thanks for posting this. Much appreciated!! AND ---- for those players out there in comment land, do yourself a favor and check out his website. It's, "to the point" (which I like). Once you're in there, click around and you'll find some good stuff. Thanks Thomas for all the work you've put into this and for sharing it with the world.
Hey man...great stuff! Very helpful. Only criticism I have is don't change up the way you play the chord melody after writing out the tab, didn't take long but it was a little confusing figuring out what you were doing vs. the tabs.
Thanks for comment! I understand your criticism. There are two sides of the coin here. When I´m playing a chord/melody like this I use to play like in the video where I start from the arrangement and play freely from it to make it musically in the movement so to say. That´s what I wanted to show but I understand the confusion as in your case to figuring out what´s happening. I use to have a slow version of the arrangement as in my "All the things you are" chord/melody lesson though... ruclips.net/video/CiobiLFFmJM/видео.html ...to make it easier to learn the arrangement. Thanks for constructive criticism. I have listen to you and will have it in mind in my future chord/melody lessons.
Thanks! It´s a T-bear splitable humbucker pickup to the neck and a T-bear single coil to the bridge. The company are not running fulltime anymore but you can make a special order if you´re interested. www.t-bear.se/directions.html The amp is a Fender Prosonic first edition.
Hi Alfonso! Unfortunately I have not a transcription of Lean Years. It´s a very good suggestion when the playing is great on that version. Do you mean the theme or the solo part?
Gabriel Cordero In the soloing with the tune I'm also using scale tones, chromatic tones and more but I have the chord tones in mind when improvising. It's good to have the chord tones as the basic notes in improvising when it's getting that base to build the soloing on.
Gabriel Cordero Great it helps you Gabriel and it is a good idea when it's hard songs to improvise on to start with the chord tones. I do so very often and the other good thing is that you hear the chords very clear and get them in your head which makes it easier when putting scales tones to it.
Sounding awesome Thomas! You are great guitarist. Thumbs way up. I subbed :) Thanks for commenting on my latest video and subbing. I'm still on YT break :) Season greetings....Lloyd.

hi Thomas great job, there is a mystake in bar 13 with A7b9 chord, you play A-C#-G-A (A7), and in a different position about tab sheet also.

Do you have a transcript of pat martinos the Lean Years?
Hi Alfonso! Unfortunately I have not a transcription of Lean Years. It´s a very good suggestion when the playing is great on that version. Do you mean the theme or the solo part?
@@ThomasBerglundGuitar the solo part. i'm not sure what chords he's using.
I see. If I get the time, I can listen to it probably this week.
