I tried getting back into Yu-Gi-Oh a couple of years ago. The neckbeards saw to it that I didn't. It really wasn't so bad when I listen to stories like the last one, but still enough for me to never go back to that specific game store.

Empathy is a nice quality, and it's sad that, like you said, it can lead to nasty people. That's how my friend met this nice guy before eventually growing tired of his bull. I often wonder, are so many men just so bad at being humans, or is this some kind of deeper problem with how our society raises men? Perhaps it's genetic, as there seem to be certain attributes like not being able to grow proper facial hair and being very overweight that go hand-in-hand with the neckbeard behaviour. I kinda want to do a study on this ^.^

As a former juggalette I can attest to how neck beardy juggalos can be. I seriously regret that time of my teenage life and am embarrassed by it. Looking back it makes me cringe super hard to know I was one of them.
I was the goth. I feel you. Now I just dress a little eccentric, still love black but keep a lot of color + I feel abnormal without eyeliner on upper lid. So yeah, agree with below, everyone has their cringy days!
I met a lot of cringy juggalos despite not being into that stuff but a friend of mine was. Thankfully a good part of them were really nice guys that had magnificent beards and hair that would make a mermaid jealous.

@@ct92404 I wouldn't call it an obsession anymore, (when I was in highschool and middle school yes) for me it was the idea of fantastic adventures roam across the world with friends. But for others I have no idea. It's basically the same thing with people who enjoy comic books, and super hero movies.

Soo one time my Fiancé and I were at a Magic the Gathering Tournament. He competes, I don’t, but I DO enjoy watching people compete, talking to people, looking at the new board games, and trying to figure out what D&D books my Fiancé doesn’t have that I could get him for his birthday. I wasn’t there for the following exchange because I wanted a drink, and a snack, and was at the front of the store buying both. My Fiancé was sitting by himself, looking over his card deck and generally minding his own business waiting for his turn, and this guy came up to him and said “can I sit here?” Being a move guy Fiancé says “sure man, go ahead!” This guy starts up a conversation about their cards, D&D, Digimon, etc. when all of the sudden the guy looks around, and says “yeah man. It’s too bad these stuck up B****s think they’re too good for us. They just want guys who treat them like garbage.” Now, this game store is pretty popular in our area, so there were lots of people from all walks of life in attendance. Fiancé is very confused, but still trying to be nice, so he just kind of laughed uncomfortably. The guy sitting across from him then went on a rant about how he was an incel, he didn’t deserve it, he could tell Fiancé is too, blah blah blah. That’s when I walked back to the table in the middle of this guys speech. I handed fiancé his drink, kisses his drink and said “hey who’s this?”, trying to be friendly. Fiancé motions to the guy and says “This is *insert name here*, he just wanted someone to talk to while waiting for his turn.” He then looks at the guy, smiles and says “this is my Fiancé. We’re getting married in August.” Now, I only know about the first part of the conversation because Fiancé told me later. So imagine my surprise when this neck beard angrily slams his hand on the table, collects his cards, look at my fiancé, and just screams, “F*****ing CHAD” and then waddles himself over to the other side of the room. Fiancé was holding back a laugh, a few people standing around were giving the guy weird looks, and I’m just standing holding my drink and my Gold Fish with a very confused look on my face. And that was that. Every time we go back there I remind him of it, and we have a good laugh.
I hope that girl who was raped by the neckbeard is ok and never had to go through that trauma again. If you’ve been through it or a similar thing, keep your head up even if you don’t feel like you can, talk to someone and if you have a way to prove it- REPORT IT and lean on your trusted loved ones to get through it... you’ll survive this, you made it through the event so you can make it through ANYTHING now, trust me.
I cant lie i have been playing 40k since i was 9-10 ish (Blood Angels all day every day) and all of the woman players from my wife to others play either Eldar, Dark Eldar, or sisters of battle my wife has a sidters army i dont know why but thats just been my experience
Christopher Combs same sisters and eldar seem to be the main ones being used by new female players, even older ones but They tend to use eldar from my experience more,often then not.

I don't like the first story, it's something I have noticed way too much. Yes, what the guy did was creepy, but she never told him to leave her alone. He probably thought they were friends, and being socially inept he was being creepy about it. Of course, it could all have been much worse, but she never told him to leave her alone. And then he suddenly gets expelled. That must have been awesome.
It can be very dangerous to confront a stalker and she never did anything to make him think they were friends. He'd already tried to follow her home, that's not socially inept behavior, it's escalation.

I thought that he might have thought they were friends because she said that they talked a lot. Here it would be good to know if they talked to each other or he just talked at her. Now that I think about it we also have no idea about the conversations with the school authorities. I think (or at least hope) that it wasn't just "hey X said you're stalking her, time to pack your bags." I hadn't thought of that earlier. Either way though, this person clearly needs help. Even if he's not a dangerous stalker, he abandoned his own classes to be around someone else he barely knows, that's pretty self-destructive.

Having a hard time believing the skelly-beard story at the end is true. Weren’t they in middle school but the kid was talking like an adult. They were already a school sanctioned club before the girl joined so I’m not sure why they wouldn’t be if she left or why they needed a girl, plus wasn’t it being run and monitored by a teacher? Was the teacher in on the kids plan? Just seems like it was made up. The rest were funny though.
EjdSmith The kid’s talk style was probably exaggerated. You can start a club and not have both guys and girls at the start, usually they give you a time you have to meet the requirements. The teacher didn’t have to be involved, he probably just thought she was a friend and was happy to make her a member. It could still totally be fake, though.
The last story sounds like absolute BS, completely made up. Not only does it have a lot of holes and seems completely implausible for little middle school kids, but there is definitely a "girrrl power!" element, which is probably why she made it up in the first place.

Club quotas... in competitive clubs? my eyes have rolled out of my skull. Focusing on anything outside of the club’s purpose will undermine its integrity. Since maintaining the quota is necessary for survival, it becomes the core focus of the group, and the actual product/interest becomes secondary. It happens in the professional world, too. Consider customer service records. Sometimes execs decide to track employee performance based on the number of records they handle in a day. The system then becomes about monitoring employee performance, and not about maintaining customer records - that’s now secondary. You’ll then find padded or faked records to maintain quotas etc, and then the stats don’t truly reflect reality. It’s sad. There are other more effective ways to handle those types of issues, but some people in charge are too lazy to bother. I guess I should clarify that I still enjoy the narration. :)

There was a girl in my old school who was the female equivalent of a neckbeard....mainly the BO. For two whole years i was put next to her😭 her BO was so stank that my eyes used to water and i used to get headaches and get dizzy. But i never did mention it to her cause i mean, thats just mean and insensitive, i didnt know her situation, she could have had a medical condition for all i knew so i just shushed and never said a word while suffering quietly

My brothers had a few of these. Its an expensive game but super fun. Building terrain is, in and of itself, an almost meditative experience.

Unfortunately, I'm a former neckbeard. But I've come to my senses. (Although I guess I'm now a level 1 neck beard, seeing as I enjoy a few anime and play dungeons and dragons)
It's good to have a hobby. But I have to ask something - what is it with Millennials and anime? I'm genuinely curious why everyone born around 1990 or later ALL have a weird obsession with anime and manga? I mean like they ALL have this bizarre fetish with Japanese pop culture. How/why did that happen?
@@ct92404 I wouldn't call it an obsession anymore, (when I was in highschool and middle school yes) for me it was the idea of fantastic adventures roam across the world with friends. But for others I have no idea. It's basically the same thing with people who enjoy comic books, and super hero movies.

A lot of times when I've seen fanfiction written by Millennials, they'll even re-draw characters to look Asian, even if the character isn't Asian! I'm just trying to understand why, and why it seems to be a Millennial thing. I don't really see it that much with younger kids and people even just a little older than them. Could it trace back to when Pokemon became a big thing around 1999-2000?
@@ct92404 honestly I'm not sure, I think the Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh boom of the late 90's and early 2000's probably had a lot to do with it. Also the explosion of home consoles being primarily from Japan as well. But that'd be my best guess.

I worked with a neck beard years ago, I’ll send you a story when I have time. According to this guy , he was a helicopter pilot in Vietnam even though he was born during the end of the war. He was also the #1 sword fighting champion of Ohio. Just a taste of the stories I overheard.

On story 2 the dark eldar slaves models were not explicitly sisters most were female eldar because the whole schtick of the dark eldar is they are intergalactic slavers and pirate corsairs

Soo one time my Fiancé and I were at a Magic the Gathering Tournament. He competes, I don’t, but I DO enjoy watching people compete, talking to people, looking at the new board games, and trying to figure out what D&D books my Fiancé doesn’t have that I could get him for his birthday. I wasn’t there for the following exchange because I wanted a drink, and a snack, and was at the front of the store buying both. My Fiancé was sitting by himself, looking over his card deck and generally minding his own business waiting for his turn, and this guy came up to him and said “can I sit here?” Being a move guy Fiancé says “sure man, go ahead!” This guy starts up a conversation about their cards, D&D, Digimon, etc. when all of the sudden the guy looks around, and says “yeah man. It’s too bad these stuck up B****s think they’re too good for us. They just want guys who treat them like garbage.” Now, this game store is pretty popular in our area, so there were lots of people from all walks of life in attendance. Fiancé is very confused, but still trying to be nice, so he just kind of laughed uncomfortably. The guy sitting across from him then went on a rant about how he was an incel, he didn’t deserve it, he could tell Fiancé is too, blah blah blah. That’s when I walked back to the table in the middle of this guys speech. I handed fiancé his drink, kisses his drink and said “hey who’s this?”, trying to be friendly. Fiancé motions to the guy and says “This is *insert name here*, he just wanted someone to talk to while waiting for his turn.” He then looks at the guy, smiles and says “this is my Fiancé. We’re getting married in August.” Now, I only know about the first part of the conversation because Fiancé told me later. So imagine my surprise when this neck beard angrily slams his hand on the table, collects his cards, look at my fiancé, and just screams, “F*****ing CHAD” and then waddles himself over to the other side of the room. Fiancé was holding back a laugh, a few people standing around were giving the guy weird looks, and I’m just standing holding my drink and my Gold Fish with a very confused look on my face. And that was that. Every time we go back there I remind him of it, and we have a good laugh.

I hope that girl who was raped by the neckbeard is ok and never had to go through that trauma again. I cant lie i have been playing 40k since i was 9-10 ish (Blood Angels all day every day) and all of the woman players from my wife to others play either Eldar, Dark Eldar, or sisters of battle my wife has a sidters army i dont know why but thats just been my experience
Christopher Combs same sisters and eldar seem to be the main ones being used by new female players, even older ones but They tend to use eldar from my experience more,often then not.

I don't like the first story, it's something I have noticed way too much.
Yes, what the guy did was creepy, but she never told him to leave her alone. He probably thought they were friends, and being socially inept he was being creepy about it.
Of course, it could all have been much worse, but she never told him to leave her alone.
And then he suddenly gets expelled. That must have been awesome.
It can be very dangerous to confront a stalker and she never did anything to make him think they were friends. He'd already tried to follow her home, that's not socially inept behavior, it's escalation.

I admit I don't know how stalkers' minds work, I just try to see situations from every angle.
I thought that he might have thought they were friends because she said that they talked a lot. Here it would be good to know if they talked to each other or he just talked at her.
Now that I think about it we also have no idea about the conversations with the school authorities. I think (or at least hope) that it wasn't just "hey X said you're stalking her, time to pack your bags." I hadn't thought of that earlier.
Either way though, this person clearly needs help. Even if he's not a dangerous stalker, he abandoned his own classes to be around someone else he barely knows, that's pretty self-destructive.
There are many stories in the news of women being harmed for rejecting a man. It breaks their fantasy and there's the risk they will lash out.

Having a hard time believing the skelly-beard story at the end is true. Weren’t they in middle school but the kid was talking like an adult. They were already a school sanctioned club before the girl joined so I’m not sure why they wouldn’t be if she left or why they needed a girl, plus wasn’t it being run and monitored by a teacher? Was the teacher in on the kids plan? Just seems like it was made up. The rest were funny though.

You can start a club and not have both guys and girls at the start, usually they give you a time you have to meet the requirements.
The teacher didn’t have to be involved, he probably just thought she was a friend and was happy to make her a member.
It could still totally be fake, though.
The last story sounds like absolute BS, completely made up. Not only does it have a lot of holes and seems completely implausible for little middle school kids, but there is definitely a "girrrl power!" element, which is probably why she made it up in the first place.

Club quotas... in competitive clubs? my eyes have rolled out of my skull.
Focusing on anything outside of the club’s purpose will undermine its integrity. Since maintaining the quota is necessary for survival, it becomes the core focus of the group, and the actual product/interest becomes secondary.
It happens in the professional world, too. Consider customer service records. Sometimes execs decide to track employee performance based on the number of records they handle in a day. The system then becomes about monitoring employee performance, and not about maintaining customer records - that’s now secondary. You’ll then find padded or faked records to maintain quotas etc, and then the stats don’t truly reflect reality.
It’s sad. There are other more effective ways to handle those types of issues, but some people in charge are too lazy to bother.
I guess I should clarify that I still enjoy the narration. :)

I am not sure how this term got started but shouldn't the term be "throat beards" unless whomever coined this term was looking at the back of a person who had a hairy neck? There was a girl in my old school who was the female equivalent of a neckbeard....mainly the BO.
For two whole years i was put next to her😭 her BO was so stank that my eyes used to water and i used to get headaches and get dizzy. But i never did mention it to her cause i mean, thats just mean and insensitive, i didnt know her situation, she could have had a medical condition for all i knew so i just shushed and never said a word while suffering quietly
