their website is broken for mac address, if you put colen, it says invalid, you have to use a dash for the mac address. IT shows "invalid" on the "site url" but its really broken on the mac address. Someone needs to fix their web interface.
I just purchased the 4k system they had on sale in December and I was like an hour trying to figure this out. I'm glad I found this comment. Works replacing the dashes instead of colon. Added the settings I received from email, and boom, worked instantly.
I have Macs and PCs, but if I want to use many of the features like quick set up I have to use a PC. I am getting closer to shipping all this stuff back.
The problem with the app is from August 15. I bought my LOREX DVR on September 5th. The only thing that will happen is that I will have to pay again now to remove everything that was installed and return the product to Sams club MX. Who will pay me what I already invested in installing the cameras? Exactly, nobody! It's been more than a month and they don't fix your problem. Your programmer engineers don't have the capacity?
This system has some major issues that need to be addressed with the DDNS setup. Creating a workable url for this system is IMPOSSIBLE. I've tried working with customer service and we still cannot resolve the issue of accessing the video through the DDNS set-up. secondly it is very tuff to find a customer service rep that is educated on the system. I really think people should consider purchasing ARLO cameras instead. paid $750 for this system and it is not worth it.
I did that after looking at their grey example. I am worried its why I cant remote view, through. So what if I added it, I still have not seen it recognize, let me login. I am starting to wonder if I have to leave the house to try it.
Worked under the old system when I bought it 10 months ago. Now I have to learn chinese and hop backward drunk to even begin to understand these instructions. I regret ever getting this product. Get a homeless person from the street and pay them $40 and they would probably design a better system.
Best comment ever! So true sadly. Can't even connect anymore, f*cking trash Lorex is the worst camera company ever, I don't even know how they got so known and rich in the first place.
After working on it much over the weekend with two network admins (us) we still cant view cameras remotely. I can see them going to the IP address locally after clicking on many "please go to unsafe link" prompts, but still nothing off site. I need to view at work as they apparently block the Lorex app (or whyever it wont be viewed) so I need the URL to work...otherwise what is the point? I am tired of waking up each morning fighting with this, If nothing else I think sending it back, getting a refund....then starting over (ordering it again) so I have the time to still be able to send it back without being penalized. Apparently I am not the only one so what is the point of trying. I believe a quality product means never having to call tech support. If I have to call it gives me red flags.
@@longjonSF I just had the same thing saying it seems to be invalid. That was actually referring to the MAC address above I used colons instead of dashes. That fixed the invalid issue. The URL request can be anything you want. However after doing these mine currently is not working. I might contact tech support next week and see if they can help. Make sure in your DVR that you checked the enable box under ddns on the top left of the screen were you set up your parameters for ddns.
Well, I am able to get to the login screen from doing the suggestions I mentioned. Now I am fighting the issue of the login screen repeatedly telling me I need to download a plugin even though I have done that repeatedly and tried Internet Explorer and Firefox.
MAC address uses dashes not colons. Logging into DDNS with provided random password won’t work. You need to configure the router, wait a few minutes, ignore THAT username and password just sent to you but instead use one of the previous admin usernames and passwords given way earlier to get in with that. Now I’m in a really bad mood with my husband asking me “so are we keeping it?” After all that? Now it’s too hot to run cables (100 degrees in hard to maneuver attic). I now need to drop this project till weather changes and hope it’s not too late to return this. I wish I had never purchased these 4 cameras. If I were the only one in need go consulting this system would be shipped back today.

please read!!!! When adding the MAC address use "-" and not ":".
This will allow you to add the MAC without error!!!!!!

I did everything, including the configuration of port 80 in my modem and I still don't have REMOTE access with public ip. It only works with local ip.
Change the port to 4000 and it should work over public ip
