Hi Everyone! Today I'm comparing Kilian Love Don't Be Shy to Love Don't Be Shy Extreme. I have the original LDBS & yes it’s a sweet fragrance I like it but I don’t get fruity pebbles lol, I truly love Rolling in Love, I have a decant of LDBS extreme coming so I can try that one, great fragrance review!

I have love don’t be shy, then I bought Rolling in love for the bottle as red is my favorite color, now I love Rolling in love more, happy that I got.
Rolling in love was my first Killian. I purchased it for the bottle also and I ended up loving it.

Great video, Tara. I loved the comparison of these three fragrances! I wish I could go back in time 3 years and buy a couple bottles of the old formulation Love. At the time I thought it was way too "feminine" for me. This was before my fragrance awakening. 😄 Live and learn!
Thanks, Jim! Yeah, I'd like to try the original one (even just a decant) to see how it compares. I definitely passed up some gems in the past that I'd love to own now (like TF Oud Wood that was like $100 at the Cosmetics Company Store- I let the lady sway me because she kept saying it was for men).

I really like the idea of reviewing and comparing two or three fragrances, it doesn't overwhelm, and helps make the decision easier for purchase. Not that I don't enjoy a good haul!!!!

Yeah, I kind of get that vibe. It's like they're coated in crystallized sugar with some orange. The opening in sharp but I really like the mid.
Great review! Fantastic explanation and breakdown of all of these fragrances! Nothing about love or love extreme intrigued me enough to purchase a full bottle however, rolling in love smells freakin fantastic!

How on earth can you distinguish notes so accurately??? Lol every single time when say you “pick up” /so and so, you nail it!
For instance, Rolling in Love- I LOVE it and almost used up all the travel spray, like the one you have, and when you mentioned the notes I’m like what?? Then I google it and sure enough, everything you mentioned comes up! I can never single out notes like that. 👏
Thanks! I don't always get them right and I miss a lot, but I just say the ones I'm pretty sure about. It helps when I'm smelling fragrances I've had a lot of time with. I also have a big set of ingredients (individual notes) that helps me train my nose a bit better.

Another great video Tara! Love has been reformulated because of IFRA regulations. The original was much better...stronger and longer lasting. Sebastian has recently done a great comparison of new and old.

I’m not familiar with these Kilian fragrances so this was extremely educational and enjoyable. The metallic green nail varnish is a great colour choice.

The love don’t be shy grew on me because I do feel like it smells like bubblegum lol but I enjoy having it. I love layering it with my lush rose jam and now I’m thinking about getting the extreme version because a reviewer said it smells similar to rose jam so I may layer these for a long lasting fragrance. I do truly love floral fragrances and I think these would be lovely to own ❤️

Kilian fan here 🙋🏻♀️ but I haven’t yet tried the Extreme, so this was very helpful, Tara. And yes to additional videos like this! I have significant overlaps in certain fragrance categories or particular lines and it would be helpful to know how different/similar a new flanker or a so-called dupe is (or characteristics that sisters in a specific line share). That’s what I look for in Fragrantica reviews too. I recently got a FB of Rolling in Love and I love this soft creamy tuberose style (another one that comes to mind is Prada La Femme. Not a dupe, just a similar style).

@@Olfactofiles 😬 Now I'm taking back my association! LOL La Femme is a soft tuberose, but doesn't have the 'milky' lactonic quality. It's no question a Floral, whereas the almond takes RIL into more of the fruity (gourmandy?) floral.
Thanks for sharing Tara! I confess I haven't smelled any of them, but I did used to eat Fruity Pebbles! ....And Flintstones vitamins, which apparently smells like Montale's new Oud Tobacco according to Ross (TLTG reviews)! 🤣 Two flintstones flashbacks in one day!

Definitely think you should do more videos like this! Very interesting especially since I'm not that familiar with killian fragrances. But I'm not the biggest fan of tuberousa on myself. On my wife tho it is fine!!!

I used to have both. I think I slightly preferred the original but can't remember much about how extreme smelled in comparison.

Such an informative video Tara! I maybe in minority but didn’t care for LDBS at all. Gave me orange soda vibes (Fanta) I couldn’t get past it. A touch cloying as well. So extreme was an easy pass. I really enjoy rolling in love 😊 love many other kilians as well

Tara, I love this style of video! I have Love from when it came in the black bottle, with about 1/6 of it left. I wore it yesterday, and my super sniffer husband told me I smelled like lemon meringue pie! Mine is pretty dark too. I wonder if the white bottle just makes it look darker, idk. Anyway, this was super helpful! 👃💖🍋🥧

My #1 Kilian ❤️ is Rolling in Love. A beautiful creamy goodness that’s not too floral.

Current scent obsessions are Apothia Velvet Rope, Zents Ore, Tsi-La Fiori d'Arancio
My favorites are Angels Share, Back to Black, and Apple Brandy, but these are nice, too.

Tara: Have you tried Creed Love In White and Love in White for Summer? Do you have a preference between the two? I was going to pick up a sample of one of them and couldn’t decide.
I've only tried love in white. It is pretty but I ended up selling my bottle as it wasn't for me.

Oh, good question...I think it might be somewhat similar, but maybe more of a pure rose layed with it would get even closer.

What do you think of Love vs. the Neroli Blanc Intense? I know Sebastian did a video comparing them. I think they are similar and I do think that the Neroli Blanc Intense is more...intense. LOL. It lasts longer on my skin than any Kilians have. Now of course, I've only have a travel spray of Love and a decant of Angel's Share and a decant of Good Girl Gone Bad, but yeah. If you do wind up selling Love, let me know! LOL!
Yeah, I agree, Rhonda. I think I am going to sell love because I prefer the new version and Neroli Blanc Intense. I definitely think they are pretty similar and the performance of Love is lacking compared to the other two.
Love don’t be shy darkens over time. I’m pretty sure it’s not reformulated. Keep most frags long enough, especially ones with vanilla and they deepen in color
That's what I thought might happen because of the vanilla but someone in one of the fragrance Facebook groups reached out to Kilian and they said it has been reformulated due to availability of specific ingredients but that when they reformulated it that is still smelled as close to the original as possible. 🤷♀️ Either way it's still lovely. Can you review Good Girl Gone Bad extreme?
I unfortunately don't have the one anymore.
I don't own Love, or the flanker for it. I do have Princess and the longevity is terrible. I adore the way it smells, however I don't think I'd purchase LDBS due to the lasting power of Killian fragrances. It's too steep of a price for poor staying power in my honest opinion.
Yeah, the performance isn't great on most. I agree about Princess. The only Kilian I own that lasts a long time is Angels' Share.
I disagree LDBS lasts 12+ hours on me and sillage is enormous.
I'm jealous! I wish it would last that long in me. I've heard older bottles are better on terms of how long they last and strong they smell, but have never had the chance to try an older version.
