Jack Pearson is always playing an inexpensive guitar, in this case apparently a newer Epiphone Casino, probably with stock pickups, but he makes it sound like a million dollars!
I LOVE this. Not only two of the best players on the planet, but two of the most gracious men you can meet in the business. Tommy's fame and playing speaks for itself - many folks aren't yet familiar with Jack - Jack is out of this world personally and professionally. Great video!
@@JackSmith-ou1dg He's played with the Allman Brothers, Gregg Allman, and others. Many of the greats say no one is better. He can play any style equally as well..
Jack and Tommy are so unpretentious, yet so amazingly talented. I love their chemistry! They are so fun to listen to you would have thought that they had written Midnight Rider! Thankyou J and T!
Got to see Tommy in concert a few years ago. He's got the pickup hooked to the amp and the amp to the PA system, I was shocked at how loud he was! Didn't expect that from an acoustic, and it sounded fabulous!
The trouble with most of todays music is not what instrument it's played on (cheap or 'expensive'} but the material itself and the ability of the player.
Sometimes much less than mastery. One could say an instrument is never mastered. I think anyone who plays would understand that you never arrive since your skills are always measured by a critical self. Is knowing one genre like blues enough to be a “master”? It’s not about mastery. It’s about sharing the feeling to a crowd and making a groove that people can be free to and have fun with. If you wait til you’ve mastered the guitar you’ll never get out of your living room (which is fine too - not everyone is a performer - you know if you like the crowds).
If this groove does not knock you off your feet, than what does!? Killer groove from two true masters. These guys are insane! Love it! Thanks for sharing! Cheers DimiZ
About once a decade I get reminded that I’ll always be a noob. ;) That’s all I could come up with without saying any profanities. Love it! A couple geniuses sent here to amuse the mortals for a while.
The sound of that Casino is GOD like...great playing Jack. Great version. The original vocal melody line is just so strong, that I hate to hear any variation from it. I liked this very much...two masters jamming on a classic. Bravo!
Wow. I’d put this up against on RUclips. Two legends. Jack normally rocks a squire haha. Love that guy Guy is truly amazing player and singer. This vid rules Love this channel.

You sound like my dad when I was a kid and wanted a fancy guitar :)
Pharmer David - Absolutely!
It’s all in the hands.
its a Casino to be fair.
What?!!?
Speechless. Jack is such a monster and never ceases to touch me in a performance. The guy can play and do it all.
Jack’s a damn good singer in addition to his mastery of the guitar.
Greg Allman is smiling in heaven hearing this for sure!
So is Gregg.
@@Flavum 😂

How's it possible I only found Jack today? Is he a hermit?😅
No, he's a nice guy.. @@JackSmith-ou1dg

@@da324 That's why I can't believe I only came across him recently. So I guess he never had his own band with a big hit.
Jack Pearson is truly a damn monster. Absolutely one of the best.
Two living legends.. they’re so good they don’t even need a band..
Who else is here from Theo's Podcast with Billy Strings?
Yep
Thanks for this amazing performance... and to Rhett Shull for spotlighting it. Would never have heard about it otherwise!
Masterclass. Here because of Rhett’s video…
Jack and Tommy are so unpretentious, yet so amazingly talented. I love their chemistry! They are so fun to listen to you would have thought that they had written Midnight Rider! Thankyou J and T!
Haha, probably best version I’ve heard. Jacks vocals killin it.
It's an awesome take-off from Gregg's version on Laid Back
That’s a lot of talent in just 2 people. Quite special.
great singer
I've heard Pearson play many times but never heard him sing till this! 😮
Damn good job singing this one too by JP, real cool...
It doesn’t get much better than this! Just awesome beyond words.
The Brothers would have loved this version!
Thank jesus for the person that recorded this... stars aligned here
Don't get much better than Jack Pearson.
Note to self, When you record great guitar players, don’t spend time on their face or back….focus on the guitar. Now there’s a concept! Wow
Awesome Duo !!!! 🤘🏼🎶🎸
Awesome performance. I met Tommy after a performance in Singapore many years ago: not just a phenomenal musician but a genuinely nice guy.
Just recently discovered Jack, he’s a 👿 MONSTER.
Got to see Tommy in concert a few years ago. He's got the pickup hooked to the amp and the amp to the PA system, I was shocked at how loud he was! Didn't expect that from an acoustic, and it sounded fabulous!
Damn, that’s beautiful.
Tommy says Jack is one of the best improvisers, phrasing. Becks great in phrasing , maybe the best phraser.
Now that's a groove going on there!
Not to mention, the man has a very fine voice!! Born to music? I think so;)
Seeing Jack Pearson at 3rd and Lindsley is on my Bucket List!!! Great soulful player.
Guess the title of "greatest unknown guitarplayer" has passed down from Danny Gatton to Jack Pearson.
Rhett Shull sent me here. Just discovered JP, and I guess I have a smile the size of the Atlantic
2 of mY all time favorite guitarists - great to hear them collaborate and improvise here with a "jazzy" Midnight Rider!
That little bleed down that Jack did at 2:15 was perfecly placed.
Saw him perform with ABB in 1997. Great show!
Just two of the best gat players on the planet, and great guys to boot.
World class guitar playing. I've had the pleasure of seeing and meeting Jack many times.
WILD ! AWESOME ! WICKED ! SENSATIONAL ! TWO OF THE BEST PLAYING TOGETHER ! GREG WOULD BE SO PROUD ! LOVE IT !!!!
Tommy laying down the bass line.
Wish Tommy would play his telecaster a bit more these days though. His brother Phil could absolutely rip it up.

Can't go wrong with these two Get it boys Los Angeles
Love the guitar but wow that voice! Cool.
That's what great music is all about: a strong urge to express a feeling + mastery.

Jack may just be the coolest dude I have ever seen...Thanks Thom,...great catch!!!!!
They don't come any cooler! Thanks..
That is solid gold right there... Awesome musical talent
Brought tears to my eyes. Second time ever during a guitar solo (first time was Pink Floyd: "Comfortably numb")).

No drums, no bass but still a wonderfully rhythmic earful!
Tommy covered that :)
@danielabatabogdanov8586 pretty lady, you have a keen ear for music!
I love this, too - just perfect!
Man, that was great, thanks!
Incredible 💯
Wonderful! That´s the blues!
A dangerous groove indeed! Thank you gentlemen!
That was epic 👏 👏
He's so good that even Tommy Emmanuel can't really add to the song
Such amazing talent!
That was so enjoyable to listen to.
that was my pleasure.
Amazing feel......just so emotional..!
Damn. Love Jack. And Tommy. 🤙🤙❤️
Great quality! Thanks
Couple of badasses right here
Great Playing from both of these guitar giants!!
Two geniuses...🐞
Wish they would have micd up Emmanuel's guitar a bit more. We need to hear every lick from these 2 masters.
Saw you all at 3rd and Lindsley recently - was a steamy night both temperature and all that amazing talent!!
Beautiful vocals too!
Thanks Breshman - 2 of my guitar gurus...Love seeing Tommy playing The Brothers...with Brother Jack!
How cool is that? Wow man that was a great take on an ABB classic.

Super great!
That was nice, thanks :)
so good.
How nice it must be.
It’s one thing to play a classic your own way, but to omit the main riff.
Fantastic
