    i literally don’t mind losing at all if the other team isn’t being toxic. it’s a learning experience and helps you find holes in your game

      If you don’t mind, what about opponents being toxic makes it not a learning experience?

      @ good point i just find myself getting pissed and taking less away from the game

      @boosterclubgg  25 дней назад +1

      It’s easy for me to say to not get pissed - and I can understand why that would happen. The mindset of learning from losses is great, focus on that no matter the teammate or opponent. GL out there - hope it helps

    I played a 1v1 earlier today and then he was toxic the entire game and he even lost 7-3 then the guy measaged me and kept messaging for like 10 mins after the game ended. He kept going for demos and had all the toxic quick chat.

      It's astonishing to me how much effort someone will put into something like that. It's honestly unfortunate and sad. And, cheers to you for playing through it, getting the dub, and moving on. My opinion is toxicity is a bug not a feature, and we just get to continue to work towards people being better to each other.

    I just believe that most rl players I encounter are unable to receive criticism in any way. Most just perceive it as an insult or attack against them since they have this "rl players are toxic" mindset.

    • @boosterclubgg
      @boosterclubgg  26 дней назад

      I'd like to offer a different perspective on this: this situation is tough. I'm sure you just want to be helpful. What I have found that really helps is simply asking permission first. If I were to just walk up to someone on the street (kind of like what RL is, completely random) and just offer them advice on something they would probably think I'm crazy. If you ask for permission before offering your thoughts they have a chance to say yes or no. When you just tell them something they may not want to hear or when they aren't expecting it they can get defensive.
      I didn't ask for your permission to give this - and I want to acknowledge that as well. Starting with that saves you time of typing it all out while also possibly not upsetting your teammate as much as well. Giving guidance and support is an opportunity that is earned, in my opinion. Hope this helps.

    • @benjaminnacev9387

      @@boosterclubgg Ye I agree with that but it's slighty utopian. RL is a fast paced game and taking that much time to type will just result in you being afk so it's better to not type anything in that case, just as you explained in your vid. Also I would compare the rl environment more to something like a quick hoops game in a park. You still play with randoms but the people are all there to play basketball. If someone there tells me to work on my jumpshot, I'd accept that because im literally in a place where i expect advice or maybe some occasional trashtalk. Same goes for rocket league, you go into a competitive playlist fully knowing you and all the other players in the lobby are trying to get better. That's why you should just expect some kind of advice or criticism, logically you're not forced to listen or act on it but you should at least expect it.
      If rocket league implemented the voice chat earlier, things may be a little different. We could differentiate sarcasm and pure toxicity from people that mean no harm in quick little advice and aren't there to offend you. Sadly voice chat was implemented so late that currently everybody has it set to "off" just out of habit and uses quickchats that can be misinterpreted.
      But overall I agree with you. In every competitive game you will encounter toxic players no matter what you do. Rocket league only seems to be more toxic, just because the current chat system leaves a lot of room for misinterpretation between the players.

    I think rocket league, no matter your rank or skill level, is an emotionally charged game no matter what. Especially if you get a well balanced skill matched game. Toxicity is sort of inevitable if you look at society in its entirety. I’m guilty of being on both the giving end and receiving end. However, with only being able to play for 2-4 hours per week anymore, I’m usually on the receiving end because I just want to play and have fun haha

    • @boosterclubgg
      @boosterclubgg  23 дня назад

      There are definitely emotions involved.. people want to win, I know that I do! However, I don't allow my disappointment turn into toxicity. I celebrate the game and everyone's accomplishments - and then find things that I can improve on. Sure, people will be toxic.. and for those people that care enough to think of others or consider a new perspective. I'm going to continue to encourage being uplifting and supportive than negative and trying to bring someone down!
      I think that focusing on having fun is a great mindset to have - and also not letting some negativity toxicity get in the way of that is great. It's a great game, I hate to see a few bad attitudes get in the way of that.

      @ I just can’t stand it when people are toxic and I feel like they should play the game without doing it. ( I may seem hypocritical but idk 🤷) So if they are toxic why not do it back. It’s like the golden rule almost. I didn’t watch the full video only half and I plan on watching the rest now so if you said something that contradicts what i said that was a mistake on my part.

    • @boosterclubgg
      @boosterclubgg  24 дня назад +1

      I appreciate your honest answer. I really don't understand it either... and I would say that it's a lot easier to be toxic and hateful than it is to be kind. Kindness takes confidence, compassion, and a willingness to see people. It's easy to just be toxic and say something awful and not care. The thing for me about being toxic when someone is to me is that it's not a fight that can be won. Being toxic back does not accomplish anything except making me feel bad when it isn't really going to affect the other person at all. So, it does take effort and I feel better walking away from the situation feeling some compassion for that person and not letting it get to me.. cause in the end their attitude has nothing to do with me.. that's just them and how they choose to be in this world.
      you didn't make a mistake and I don't really know that I said anything about that. In my eyes we are all just out here trying to do the best we can. It can be tough.. and some people can be really frustrating! It's a practice to let those types of things slide. I falter too. I just know that I feel better when I walk away or just let it be than when I try and fight back. You got this. Thanks again for the comment, I appreciate you!

    Rocket league players thing quick chatting is toxic. League of Legends players think getting called a slur is a game mechanic

      @@boosterclubgg man I think you’d just have better mental health if you expect people to be toxic on games. It’s not like toxicity in games is real or serious enough to be close to a real issue. You’re just setting yourself up to be disappointed and feel bad

    • @boosterclubgg
      @boosterclubgg  24 дня назад

      I appreciate that… and my mental is good! I don’t really expect people to not be toxic, I know it will probably always be there. At the same time, it doesn’t have to be and I don’t have to accept people being horrible to others as the standard. I’m not going to demand people just be fluffy and nice - and if I can show people the value in kindness and lifting others up instead of tearing them down, I’m going to do it till the day I die.
      The way the internet is isn’t the way that it has to be - and I refuse to accept it. I know there are a lot of good people out there and I also want to empower them to play through toxicity. Be able to stand through it and encourage others to do the same.
      Like you said.. in league it’s a mechanic to use slurs and be hateful to people. I don’t think that should be the standard. What will happen? I don’t know, and I’m sure gonna try to make it better.
      I’m just gonna keep working to make the internet a better place! 🤝

      It's always the person that retaliates that gets caught. Just watch any sports broadcast on TV.. it's the retaliation that gets the punishment. I would say it's not worth it to quit a game you were playing because of a bad egg... hope you choose to come back to the game and give it another chance - cause the game doesn't really have anything to do with the people that play it. Thanks for this comment - it shows me that I have more work to do.

    why so toxic? The average age or players of this game is 12-15 lol THEY DGAF about anything and strive on trolling you. They'd rather hit the ball to say they hit the ball than win. They'd rather own goal to say they hit the ball than win. They rather steal the ball from you then try and play as a team. They ball chase you and try and demo your own teammate. they'll stick with RULE 1 so much they'll take out their own teammates.

      Thanks for this comment - I realize that I didn't do the best job that I could have in providing solutions for these types of situations. Sure, there are people that suck out there. And, in my opinion, that doesn't really validate being toxic or hateful to other people.
