I really appreciate your humor, your sincerety as well as your calming and reassuring know how. Thank you truly, once again for a relaxing and enjoyable episode. May God bless you brother.
Dude... you pull me in with "Ribbed for your pleasure", you push me away with the corn "rinse and repeat" and then pull be back in with bacon!! Your videos are a rollercoaster of humor, disgust, entertainment, and information. Thank you!
Shawn, I've been watching your videos for some time now. I'm a 71 year old widow lady and last week went on my first camping trip in quite a few years. I atook the advice from all the fear mongers and the well meaning officials to put at least six feet between me and others -- wel , you couldn't see from out site to the next. So I velieve I was safe. The trip was a cross between "glamping" and "primitive". Erected a tarp shelter in a state park with just a picnic table and fire ring. The glamping part was that I took a cot with me. The weather was great and I felt comfortable with only one wall and a roof. Thanks so much for the tips and info. This will not be the last trip
You make camping look so fun and easy. I am a 59 year old fancy girly-girl woman with a truly rugged and passionate desire to go camping, but I just don’ know where and what to start with.. Your videos are so so so inspirational.. They make me think “ I can do this!” Thank you Corporal..
You remind me so much of my Bestest Bud Bill, he passed a year ago last month. He was a Marine, and I served in the Army-SF. We were at each other all the time about who was the best. You are and act just like he did. I really enjoy your videos, and always reflect back on Bill. Hope you don't mind the comparison of you two, I guess his old saying of "Once a Marine. always a Marine. Thanks for helping me reflect back on the good times of my life!
Was a C-🐝. For those that are unable to decipher that code, it equals Seabees. 1968-1975. Fortunate to have the chance to train with the marines and army special forces. A real kick in the pants. Lol
Hilarious about the reuse of corn, deadpan humour and ribbed pleasure !!. we need that funny stuff to keep us from going nuts. love what you do, greetings from Ontario Canada
I've noted before, when is the CCCC "corporals corner coronary cookbook" coming out? The lower title can be "i'm here for a good time, not a long time"
Love that you give real, applicable, and thorough advice in a serious manner while still maintaining a sense of humor with all of your content. Just super enjoyable to watch through and through!
No need for a coffee press. Just the beans and a piece of cloth is more than enough. Or if you got time to prepare, tea bag with coffee grounds in it. You may need to let it steep longer than usual, though. Or what I do is toss the tea bag while the water's building up a boil. After boiling, I let it steep there for a minute or two.
craziest rain storm, ever. Back in the '70's, my kids n I hitch hiked to the beach (60 miles). On the way, we always seemed to find some plastic sheeting and some clothesline or rope. On arrival, we found a high n dry fallen tree righ up against a standing one. These trees were about 3' diameter. I pitched a lean to, the pine needles were deep. It rained so hard for 2 days, no one even needed a pee break. We talked and laughed and told stories. We had some bread and peanut butter. We had a good time!
This video was outstanding AF. I really like the fact that, since you didn't have to build a shelter, we got more of you. I also think that the name of the coffee should be Corporal's Outstanding AF Brand Coffee. Please keep up with what you are doing. It is so superb. Mad props to you my friend
Y'all nailed it again ! I agree with you, the only thing I would change with that tent, would be the color. Keep up the videos because you are helping viewers, all over the world, to forget, for a while, the BS of the world and spend the night with you, in the woods. Y'all can't put a price on that ! Many will never get to spend the night in the woods except with you. So when y'all are out there building that fire, you are not alone. So, pat yourself on the back because y'all have friends from all over the world camping with you.
On vacation us 4 kids sleep in cotton sleeping bags, and when it rained we got under the station wagon to stay dry. Best times when you are out there you are winning. 🙂
Great advice about the colors for the tent. You need to develop your own line of instant coffee. You have sampled so many and your statement about it all tasting the same is true.
Those are great watches. It took me 30 years to wear the first one I had out. I was happy to see that Casio still makes the same exact model as the one I got back in 1989. 👍🏻
How come every time I see one of your videos I feel like going off grid. I have literally been watching yur videos for like 2 days straight. Really.. I've been on vacation and just been sitting here watching and listening and learning.
LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT YOUR VIDEOS. YOU ARE OUTSTANDING DUDE!! LOVE YOUR ATTITUDE YOUR HUMOR YOUR COOKING YOUR CAMPFIRES ETC ETC ETC!! A PLEASURE TO WATCH!!
I used to carry a 50 lbs pack as a kid when we went backpacking. I don't remember how long we went for but it was probably around a week. I was fine with that as like a 10-year-old because I have always had a strong back and strong legs.
Thanks for the honest review on that kit. If I want to carry crap I don’t need, I’ll just put rocks in my pockets- it cheaper. Besides, there’s a lot more satisfaction carrying stuff you made or gathered up yourself.
I love the videos and the attitude. I did notice the “extra” gear dual purpose spatula of doom. That think will take out a couple zombies as well as flip the dippers.
On the topic of food, nearly all MREs, Mountain House, and others are completely sold out with no back-ordering. It's crazy! Love the video, keep up the great work
I have plenty of experience "camping" in the rain at Lejeune and Quantico. Pretty skilled in poncho hooches. Civilian camping along the North Coast of California has made me distrustful of all tent rain flys. Tote along a tarp to cover your tent AND it's own rain fly. If the tarp is a bit larger than your tent you have a sheltered place to cook, read, and sip your whiskey. I use the 10 x 10 Noah's tarp by Kelty for my tent. The weight isn't bad and can serve as a sun shield too. Good bacon idea.
Most people don't know you can just pour hot water directly onto regular ground coffee in a cup and stir. It will settle to the bottom and stay there, maybe a few grains stick to the rim.
Excellent and passionate vlogs, So refreshing in a world gone mad, nature heals the soul and the spirit, working on my kit while in lockdown, excellent presentation,
Jen Horne yeah I saw it on Facebook like a year ago, I always see weird crazy bacon things on there lol and this one I’ve actually really wanted to try since I saw it!! Glad I got to see someone actually try it though, because some things sound good in theory but...
Can't wait to tryout those dippers!😎. Right up my 🥓 🥰 gotta do list. Just showed this tip to my husband - he's already whining for them! Camping overnighter next weekend & those are on the menu - Corporal D's. Yep🥰
"Ribbed, for my pleasure" … OMG, I hit the floor laughing … just short of tears rolling down my face from laughter - my GF is British and has that same type of "dry wit" (that is beyond "too funny") … FYI; I downloaded at least 4 of your vids that I hadn't seen til this morning. Your approach is exactly why I signed up as a follower when you took that camping trip to "secret lake" back in March
Being a recent R-BTK Amputee I'll soon be relearning how to carry my 45 to 50 pound back pack through the woods again. It will not be easy. But I will do it if it kills me trying. I will fall. But I shall once again rise, and continue forward one step at a time. When you stated that a 5 day pack should weigh about 30 pounds, I thought you were kidding me/us, but then having asked around I find that I might have been over packing ie. non required items, so I now have to reevaluate my choices. Maybe it just comes down to what each person feels that they require. And yes, that color on the tent: "Hell to the no".
The tent design is great but I agree on the color...glow in the dark green, whoa! Rakaia certainly likes bright colors. I like the chevrons on the sleeping bag...cool look. Rakaia should know that in this day and age with what's going on, the increasing lack of dispersal camping areas many of us want or need to stealth camp. These colors would be my last choice in a shelter. I have camped in a tent that was orange and white, however, I covered it with a camouflage netting plus used natural resources to "hide" the tent. Those pancake dippers looked awesome...gotta try them.
I enjoyed this video tremendously, and even purchased the tent. While the tent itself is not bad (note that anyone over 6' will barely fit length-wise), this company (Rakaia) is going out of business. They also have a lot of complaints lodged against them with the BBB. If you go on their FB page, people are complaining about unfulfilled orders, etc. None of this obviously is anything Corporal Kelly has anything to do with, but just thought people should know.
Seriously LOVE your vids... I’ve been prepping for bugout like crazy recently and your vids are SUPER HELPFUL!!! AND UR SHIRT IN THIS VID IS MY FAAAAAAVORITE!!!! (Ripely was my idol as a kid)...thank you for your service and thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Stumbled onto you and loving your work very informative and made me remember how much I loved field craft from my infantry days. I’m working through your vids every night
Corporal, how about getting a LCpl. intern, he carries the coffee press. Also, normally that precooked bacon is just piled up on pallets at Sam's Club, but with the current panic, sold as fast as the tp.
You might of already done this but you should try and make a Corporal’s Corner Coffee blend with Black Rifle Coffee Company or Blackout Coffee Company.
Proper Prior Planning and Preparation Prevents Poor Performance and Panic! vs... The "eyes rolling back" syndrome and then panicking!! As an "old" Army Ranger, I prefer subdued green and/or camo as well Shawn, if I want a signal there are plenty of options, otherwise I prefer being more covert!!

Just wanted to know , do you ever camp in areas that have dangerous animals such as bears and do you carry a gun/weapon just for that. Thanks Rowdy Thomas
I carry a pistol with me regardless. It's like the condom rule better to have it and not need it then need it and not have it. I live in Pennsylvania and we have bear and other critters to be weary of..
Reminds me of when I was in the California conservation corps, in the Sierra. Water leaked through my tent got a bad ass fever the next day. Good times
I love your videos, they are informative and occasionally humorous. This video made me laugh twice! "Ribbed for my pleasure" and the can of corn "eat it, drop a deuce, rinse, eat it again"! Hahahahahahahahahaha!
I like the way you always use small wood....Keep some bigger stuff for the night fire...or not...but the little stuff is easy to get and ......Magpies do the same thing..

Dude... you pull me in with "Ribbed for your pleasure", you push me away with the corn "rinse and repeat" and then pull be back in with bacon!! Your videos are a rollercoaster of humor, disgust, entertainment, and information. Thank you!
This is the way. ;)
The Corporal's Siren song is titillating yet repulsive.
Shawn, I've been watching your videos for some time now. I'm a 71 year old widow lady and last week went on my first camping trip in quite a few years. I LOVED the corn comment!!!!!!! I have been in underground construction for about 45 years....I have SEEN the corn conundrum!!!!
"Wash, rinse, repeat". I had to pause so I could laugh. Love your videos, especially the lack of BS.
My advice to anyone self isolated is to binge watch all of your videos and reap the benefits of learning something in the process!

Guy needs to make a recipe book called "Corporal's Book of Bacon" 👍
Amen.
