In the video, how to install the grip looks so easy.
However, even if a real buyer installs it in the same way, we know that it is not as easy as the video.
I don't know why.
Is the grip in the video softer than the one I bought?
Is the inner diameter of the grip I purchased shrunk?
Is my handlebar OD slightly larger?
Anyway, a lot of people are explaining the easy way to install ESI grips.
Many of them recommend the installation method using alcohol.
Others are talking about different installation methods, such as compressed air or cable ties.
However, I would like to say that the most convenient installation method among them is the installation method using water and dish detergent.
Hello! Water and Dish Soap is also a great option as long as everything evaporates and it leaves no residue 😁 These are the same grips, fresh off the package. We tell the installers in the videos to always install the bar plugs before the grips and use A LOT of liquid. We also tell them it is easier to pull the grips towards your body rather than try to push them on. Hand Sanitizer is also another great option that takes longer to evaporate than Isopropyl Alcohol!

Can dishwashing liquid do?
I will give a little tip here. Let the end of the grip be in line with the plugs outer edge. MUCH more comfortable.

Hand sanitizer works better than alcohol because it gives you a little more working time if you need it.
Surprisingly cups installed before grip. Why ?
This provides a smooth surface for the grips to glide over. With no Bar Plugs installed, the bar can scrape the inside of the grips causing unnecessary resistance. This resistance and scraping can also cause damage to your grips.
What kind of liquede?
Any evaporative liquid like window cleaner, hand sanitizer, 70% isopropyl alcohol etc.
And the bike shop will charge you a half hour of labor for that.
