I'm coming to this video pretty late here, but I think this sold me (and even some of my friends!) on Armada. I've always been interested in a tactical ship-based skirmish game, and it's hard to argue with Mantic's success so far. Thanks for the content, looks like I'm going to plan a bit ahead on the next paycheck.
Glad you enjoyed it. Mantic are adding more and more ships to their printing vault too if anyone in your group has a printer that's by far the easiest way now 🙂
I know it has been a year, but it is still fun to watch the report! Especially when I'm painting my Basileans from the starter set. I'm thinking of the Empire of Dust as a second fleet as well!
Interesting game. I like Mantic as a company but I heavily prefer Dystopian Wars to this rules wise. Great models and wonderful work on the video, clear presentation, solid audio, and very entertaining. Thanks for your hard work.
Mantic Games and Warlord Games actually worked together on this game. It's based on their Black Sails rule set with a fantasy twist. You can even get rules to use Warlord Games fleet models in Armada.
@@TomsTabletopBunker oh I stand corrected. I have sails of glory n oak. I don't have b sails because no don't do sprews but how would but rank all 4 games. Going by rules not ships cause oak has cheap ships and I thought sails had the best outta the box
Man, your rolls were on fire at some points! Excellent game. Just got my starter set and I'm pumped.
Awesome stuff. This game is great we love it

That terrain is awesome and the paint jobs are lovely!
Thankyou 🙂 There are tons more Armada videos on my channel with island making and painting for the orcs 👍
Love it! Rules seem similar to a game I'm already familiar with. You sir have inspired me to look into this game
Thankyou.
We play tons of this on the channel.
Absolutely love it

Thanks for the kind words 🙂
Great battle report! When you mention playing on the full sized table, do you mean as opposed to the paper mat that comes in the starter box?
Glad you enjoyed it. Yes absolutely that. So the mat from Mantic is 4x4 which is the normal table size. Changes the game quite a lot
Really cool report and great looking ships. I want to get Empire now.
Also...Bonuses for Raking fire is only possible via broadside in this game
Thanks for the comment.
Yeah I love the EOD such cool looking models.
Yep raking fire is only from broadsides which we missed here 🙂
Finally, Hammerfist gets some proper action
SMASH!!!!!
This was excellent. Where did the Skull Island come from?
It's an eBay lizard tank ornament 👍🙂
@@TomsTabletopBunker That is hilarious, and now I'm off to the local pet store.
STOP moving the indirect fire dice before evaluating them. The misses are going in the WRONG direction!!!
Other than that it is nice to watch.
Ha yeah they are a bit ambiguous aren't they.
More armada soon....

Thanks for the comments.
I played DW way back when but haven't since it came out again.
One day 🙂
@@TomsTabletopBunker I’ve only played the new rules once but they stayed true to the original game. Still very fun. Highly recommend it.
Orc fleet simply owned by undeads.
Orcs start off stronger than they have before but these undead take some sinking
Kings of war rips off oak n iron? Ships r impressive

@@holysmoke8439 I must admit I've never played oak n iron but have heard great stuff about it
@@TomsTabletopBunker best seamap n terrain of all them...the 6 ships r ok but I used them to round bout my glory fleet.
