That’s the magic of knowing how to combine your wardrobe. And nothing can beat the perfect Chanel style black jacket.
I have a black one of course and actually last Tuesday I was wearing a black turtleneck sweater, black skinny jeans and my black jacket paired with black moccasins. Later on I went to the mall and all I did was change the black jacket for an ivory one and then wore my ivory sneakers. A totally different style with just a change of two pieces and so on. Add one scarf and you can rock the mall!
Now you got me thinking about a black stripes breton shirt!🤣
I couldn’t choose any of your looks as my favorite because all of them are so different and chic that I have to say, all of them!

That black dress is so elegant, chic and classy - I love it! Your jacket is so versatile. I love it with the cuffs rolled up over the striped top. Perfect casual chic. I just bought my first ever tweed blazer (dark blue because I don’t suit black, and nipped in at the waist) and I am loving the different looks I can create with it. Today I followed your suggestion from your layering for winter video and wore it under my winter coat - I was the most toasty and comfortable I think I have ever been in cold, wet stormy weather! I would never have worn the two together without your suggestion, because I would be afraid of appearing too bulky, but actually they fitted nicely together. So thank you! You made my day much warmer!

Loved all the looks. Of course I feel the jacket said it all...the versatility of mixing classic pieces ie. The leather look slim pants, jeans, skirts and tops. A very easy wardrobe put to get her for even a trip to a Paris or New York. Excellent!
All lovely outfits. I like the white trousers with the black and white stripey top - very French, all it needed was a beret to top it off to complete the French stereotype look! Your black dress is lovely too, it makes you look even slimmer. Today I was wearing black trousers with a white shirt and black and white stripey jumper on top. The jumper has a thin mustard stripe on the cuffs which I love - it's that little detail that makes it different. No jacket, just my black wool double breasted coat. I'm learning from your videos! 😘

Very inspirational ! I have most of these pieces as I imagine many of us do . Jeans and black turtlenecks are my favourite uniform but for some reason my Chanel style jackets don't come out very often - I have a wine coloured version also . Thank you for reminding me to wear these jackets more !

I tend to like your more casual outfits, and especially like the leather-look black pants. Recently purchased a pair and have gotten so many compliments -- instant chic! Love the Chanel jacket but need a longer jacket to balance my shape. Like to see more accessories for the total look -- I am always unsure how much is too much 😳.

I loved everything I’m specially fond of the nude pump or loafer it really makes your legs look wonderful. I have a few Black jackets. I’m not particularly fond of Bocelli knits on me. They’re so comfortable but I find that they make me look bigger I am 5’10”or 178cm with shoulders for days so I’m always looking for jackets that less bulky with zero or minimal shoulder padding. But the same silhouette and the same higher button stance. Thank you great video

Hi Marie-Ann, I loved Outfit 13, that is so me. I’m not sure if I would be brave enough to wear leatherette trousers but good quality black trousers a definite yes.
Sadly I cannot find a pair of blue jeans that do not leave the dye on upholstery, so I have transferred to white jeans which I love. I really appreciate all of the great advice you give and the plethora of ideas.

Marie-Anne Lecoeur , Oddly I have only found one brand that actually both suits me and fits. I have a long body but short inside leg, and that is Marks & Spencer’s jeans. I thought that after a few washes the dye would fix or stop running but it doesn’t. In my youth, I used to wear Levi or Gloria Vanderbilt mainly with no problem, but I find it impossible to find the right length.
I love the look of NYDJ but I think my husband would have a fit if I bought a pair at that cost now we are pensioners. 😀
You look goodie everything, Marie-Anne! My personal favourite is with the black skinny jeans, which look absolutely amazing on you. Would prefer the boot-cut jeans with a higher heel. Also, what about adding your red flats which are peeking out of your closet? They would look great with the striped top and off-white pants. Very nautical!

I prefer it with skirts, not jeans - except the white ones. It is a versatile jacket though, but I would want my Chanel style jacket in a cheque style not plain black like yours. Unfortunately, my apple shape prohibits this style of jacket. It's too short. I never wear anything that cuts across my lower stomach area. On the right person, it has a useful function. Good video as usual.

All outfits would have been much nicer if worn not with skinny but with straight leg or bootcut jeans. I am really unhappy that the modern world has invented skinny trousers at all... The lady in skinny trousers always looks like she has forgotten her skirt at home... at least to me. Although I am still quite young but never wear skinny and hate it on others even though thay are skinny or got nice legs. Skinny is opposite of elegant to me
I meant those leather like skinny jeans were not ok to me.

I especially love the casual very rugged outfits since I live in very rugged cowboy country with freezing winters. I love the jacket. It's so perfect fot giving that edge to casual that takeds it up a notch.

Marie-Anne, all of the combos are lovely, but my favourites are the tone on tone black outfits. I love the use of different textures like your boucle jacket, silk and satin. I have a simple black Club Monaco blazer, but your Chanel-like jacket has more texture and interest. Maybe one day I will find something similar!

I think the black skirt looks well together with a printed blouse in a family party for instance.
Number 9 is my favourite, with the satin skirt and patterned blouse (love the pretty neckline). I also like the jacket with the striped shirt, with the leather trousers, or with jeans. I do love a mix of textures and styles. The nearest I have to your jacket is a plain navy blazer, which I wore today with a dark royal blue, corduroy skirt and navy tights and boots, and a plain green t shirt. I do feel the need for a few patterned blouses, shirts and tops as mine are mostly plain. I tend to favour my four biker jackets, so that blazer needs a bit more of a chance to shine; it might be ordinary (apart from the variety of different navy buttons I sewed on) but that’s what makes it so versatile. It really is quite nicely made, I've taken care of it, and I just wore it the other day. Always get compliments .In other words, you don't need the Chanel to look Chanel. OK right, I am a skinny old thing, always have been, and that's been a thing too. WHO CARES the measurements?! Darlin' , you are lovely. You absolutely must find your "Chanel" jacket. Janet, Please keep looking. With a careful eye you can find chanel style in larger sizes. In the US we call it Plus size. I am 46" in the bust, and have found chanel style 2 to 3 sizes larger than you are. I don't know what high end stores you might find it in the UK. In the US, I'd look at Nordstrom or Neiman Marcus for a higher end piece which cost hundreds, not thousands of $$$$. But even LL Bean, a good quality outdoor catalog, offered a chanel style jacket in a smooth soft fleece (in Dec) - white trimmed in navy. I bought it & love it! It elevates my dark blue jeans to a dressier casual chic, depending on top, shoes & other accessories! Now I'm watching for a higher end piece that elevates both dressy & casual as Marie-Anne's does. Even on Amazon I've even seen a piece with fringe, though I didn't care for the colors offered. Good luck in your search! Be persistent! 😊😊
Love these outfits, although I don’t think I could do the faux leather pants with my derrière lol! But I could see wearing pieces with black straight leg pants/cords. I’m always amazed, Marie-Anne, that your 20 year old blazers are still so stylish. I pulled 1 out the other day (27 years old) to see if I could dress up an outfit and it seems horribly outdated with very structured shoulder pads. Even though shoulder pads are supposedly back in style, mine still looks dated to me and I cannot see wearing it. Do you have alterations made from time to time in this respect?

this is what I always liked a very classic or classy style that does not say too much and can be worn many years down the road, I like to say that Marie-Anne Lecoeur the black outfit was very fitting and matched well, I do mean that I have seen people wear all black and yet they are off somehow, like 1 black item that has more of a blackish-blue and others are more a blackish-brown yet they look more black on their own if worn with others colors, here in America the styles or current trends are to through odd colors together for the women at times and yet the men tend to stick to a simpler pallet no matter the decade. I actually have designed a few things ( I crochet and learning to knit) and I typically use a neutral color with a more brighter (flower) color so I would use offwhite with teal or grey with peach so to find something to go with it would not be a huge task at hand. this is the same thing you implied with your chic inspiration you have shown
I can see that you have chosen your pieces carefully. It shows in the many outfits that you can make with those pieces. Loved them all and they give me ideas for my Chanel style jacket.
