It was such a good Episode. And hey guys don’t judge Iris to hard. She was known as the strongest fighter in the continent. And then a bunch of terrorists shows up and destroys her world image and even the normal members of the shadow garden(in her POV) are stronger than her. It is normal for a person to try to deny it.
She also got super pissed cuz Shadow messed up her plan of winning the tournament to bring more knights into her order
But betrix didn't let it get to her, she knew there could be stronger people.
As for Iris she is confused about the situation anyway, the terriost grow was there before Shadow was, and it was shadows group that defeated it.
That the only reason she went after shadow was because he didn't want to submit to the government
Iris is a child and she was correctly humbled.
The problem with Iris is that she's been in denial for too long. She saw Alpha killing Milia with ease when she had so much trouble. Alexia clearly stated that she saw Shadow created the humongous crater on the ground, but she insisted that she was delirious. And now she thinks that she can beat Shadow with a stupid artifact.
Yep, while she is seriously trying to serve her country some guy who just wants to play edgy comes around and ruins everything in front of her eyes with a snap. No wonder she reacted that way.

A case can be made for other mcs. Ones who don't show off their power. If they were so trash, why didn't the villain or villains kill them. Because even with holding back, they are stronger than the villain. lol Plus in general it still depends on the story. I've even read some revenge stories. Some where the mc takes his time with their revenge. Which people complain about when that happens. Or ones who get their revenge fast in the story. So there's many ways, to do various themes in stories.
