I wanted to tell you how much this video has meant to us. My husband learned how to make these so well! He shows them off to guest who come to visit all the time and they love them! My brother in law has cancer and on his last days. We went to see him for the last time and talked about these potatoes and he wanted to taste them so bad, we made them for him. He could hardly eat them but he tried his best and he loved them! He had not eaten anything for days but he ate that potato. It was a good memory for all of us. We told him about your video and how we learned to make them and I promised I would make a comment and tell the story. Thanks for the memories from our dear brother in law and his brother.
When making the Hasselback potatoes, I sit a wooden spoon handle on both sides of the potato when I go to slicing them. That is an easier way to make certain I don't cut all the way down by accident!
Kent, As a form United States Marine, (1967-1973), I just wanted to thank you for remember Vets and Active Duty Members of the Armed Forces. We aren't often remembered anymore. It means a lot. I just finished baking the potatoes and I have to say that they live up to their name. Despite not having any of the seasonings that you added they still taste lovely. This channel has been a God send for this quarantine, please keep uploading more potato recipes!
Mom just washed them, poked them with a fork and rubbed them with Crisco. Sprinkled them with kosher salt, wrapped them in foil and baked them at 375 for 45 minutes to an hour. Crispy skin and fluffy... Easy peasy.

Mindy! You got to try this! Before the last 10 minutes in the oven, I put pepperoni slices that I cut in half in each slit. Then I sprinkled on crushed red pepper flakes. After the last ten minutes in the oven, I put more red flakes on and parmesan cheese. Delicious!

I'm going to have to do something about the Quarantine 15 we're all packing on. After making these potatoes of course :) Thanks for another great video and I hope you and your family are all staying safe and healthy.

A tip on the Hasselbeck potatoes if you last a chop stick on each side then slice down until your knife touches the chop stick then they are cut exactly the same depth and you can slice quickly with no chance of going to far down. Just a tip and everyone may know this one already just that it may help someone. Love you Kent been watching you forever you're great!!
