I wanted to tell you how much this video has meant to us. My husband learned how to make these so well! He shows them off to guest who come to visit all the time and they love them! My brother in law has cancer and on his last days. We went to see him for the last time and talked about these potatoes and he wanted to taste them so bad, we made them for him. He could hardly eat them but he tried his best and he loved them! He had not eaten anything for days but he ate that potato. It was a good memory for all of us. We told him about your video and how we learned to make them and I promised I would make a comment and tell the story. Thanks for the memories from our dear brother in law and his brother.

As for the potatoes, holy smokes man. Best Taters I've ever had. Right after I take mine out of the oven and cut the X and open them up, I add a hunk of butter and then a couple of scoops of some pre-mixed sour cream with shredded cheddar cheese, scallions, bacon pieces/bits and chopped cilantro if I'm feeling crazy, all mixed together as a spread and boy I'm in hog heaven. Thanks so much for sharing your recipe(s). Everything you show us how to make is Deelish. God Bless and keep the recipes coming ! SemperFiGuy, West Central Florida.

I have been on a quest on how to make "crispy" baked potatoes!!

Yummy, gonna have to try these two ways. My wife loves to cut golden potatoes into small triangular cuts, bastes them in oil and seasoning. She roasts them in the oven, delicious. We have been eating on those all week.

When I first saw Hassleback potatoes, they were a mess and still raw when I baked by the recipe. I've haven't fixed them since. Now I know the proper way to do them. Love the fluffy and crispy baked patois as well. God. Bless.

when I was a kid in the 50's, we had all kinds of baked and broiled potatoes each week..today folks hardly use them at all other than for French Fries..I have no idea why..

I tend to just eat nothing but meat and hot sauce, or tacos for dinner. I kinda like potatoes, and pasta, and whatnot, but I have a hard time digesting them. Always feel like shit the next day if I have more than a few bites. I think that's kinda common.
