Adrian Belew lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Terry Bozzio on drums, Patrick O'Hearn on bass, Zappa lead guitar and backing vocals, Ed Mann percusssions, Peter Wolf and Tommy Mars on keys. Recorded live in 1978 in London UK but lots of overdubs on the final Yerbouti released in 1979

Adrian Belew! Thanks for the reminder. For a 45 year old 'live' recording, yes, it does sound quite polished. Bozzio is outstanding, along with everyone noted in your comment. Thanks for watching!

Check out the live version of this song available on RUclips where you can actually see Terry Bozzio doing his thing along with the very talented Adrian Belew and of course the rest of the band. Frank has a righteous solo and then the two guitars mirror each other with great effect. Excellent song Excellent band!

I will do that. These people are super talented and created their own genre. Thanks for watching.

In that same video, Adrien Belew is rocking the vocals of city of tiny lights. Also, check out a video of the song cosmic debris live. It will be eight minutes and seven seconds long and Frank will be wearing a pair of plaid pants. The musicianship, and the solos captured in that video are absolutely thrilling. Ian Underwood on base clarinet, George Duke on keyboards and then, of course, Franks solo is righteous!

You're spot on. It was Belew. Looked it up after the video, and did a forehead slap, because I remembered as soon as I saw the credits. Thanks for watching.

I was at Vanderbilt University here in Nashville the night Frank played and later went to a small club called Cantrell's and discovered Adrian Belew. I had seen Adrian's band Sweetheart play there earlier that year. A couple of Years after that I saw Adrian playing lead guitar for David Bowie at Nashville's Municipal Auditorium. And then later saw him many times with King Crimson here.

If you like Zappa, you may want to react to the very underrated Gentle Giant. Here in RUclips they have some live performances, which are even more impressive than their (very good) studio albums.
And, being a drummer, do yourself a favor and check, also here in RUclips, a young japanese drummer called "Junna". You're welcome :P
    Thanks for the reaction!

My bad. One of my biggest blunders considering I was very aware of Adrian Belew being the lead vocals decades ago. 🤦‍♂️getting old I guess.
