    It's so amazing to see Conan in this forum. He's highly intelligent, well spoken, knows his facts and lets his guest answer his questions to his fullest ability without cutting him off. Conan needs to do more of these interviews, it's nice to see him step out of his comedic bubble. Well done, Conan, you are the man!

    I actually never really thought about it, but if you look at the three late night hosts' backgrounds, it makes sense. Conan came up as a writer, so it makes sense that he has a more academic interest. Letterman came up through broadcasting, so it would make sense that he is interested in media production. Leno got his start as a stand-up comedian, so it stands to reason that his interests would be more "blue collar."

    Watched half of it now and gonna watch the other half tomorrow. Although I'm not American and so the topic doesn't directly concern me, I really enjoy watching Conan showing his serious jibber-jabber -side and showing that he can do much more than just be funny. His talk-show is always a joy to watch but because the show is so frequent sometimes I feel that the same jokes are recycled over and over again, and therefore it's definitely refreshing to watch him in a different environment.

    I tend to get around Manhattan by bicycle (hey, don't knock it: so did George Plimpton). One day, I was crossing midtown en route to interviewing some nationally known graphic designer or art director or photographer...and on either 49th St. or 50th St. between Fifth and Sixth avenues, standing outside NBC's studios in that neighborhood, stood Conan.
    And he looked completely, totally, existentially depressed. Or, as an executive producer of several national talk shows once told Tucker Carlson: "Do you know what my job is? Do you know what it really is? It is a very real and daily battle to keep a few multi-millionaires (that is, his talk show hosts) from committing suicide."
    Fact: Conan looked like he wanted to throw himself in front of oncoming traffic. And that's no joke.

    • @INRamos13
      @INRamos13 4 месяца назад

      It has, actually, you're just too attached to the present to realize it. In a decade or two, you'll look back and realize you were foolish.

    • @johngogo17
      @johngogo17 4 месяца назад

      @INRamos13 I fail to see how the Trump presidency reflects that. Trade wars and disengaging from the Nato nations, which directly hurt American interest for years to come, seems pretty ill-tempered and anti-diplomatic. If you don't agree with that, then we can agree to disagree. I won't call your statement foolish. However, that wouldn't be diplomatic. It would be presidential, though, if you're going by 45's standards. I fail to imagine any argument which could convince me that the most powerful man, in the highest office in the world, getting himself into petty Twitter feuds and fueling the most politically divided American populace in history (perhaps excluding the Civil War) while the country and world descended into chaos is "well-tempered" or "diplomatic".
      Outside of Trump, though, I do agree with Mr. Morris. Including the one who encouraged a crowd to storm a government building resulting in the death of government employees, there I disagree with the universality of his statement.
      To sum up, I never said his statement WON'T age well, I said it hadn't at the time. Making a present observation doesn't make you a fool in the future. Given Trumps recent rhetoric of "dictator for a day," there's a chance for him to prove my point again come November.
