Id like to consider whether EDay goes the melee/shooting hybrid like Space Marine 2 or if they keep it the standard GoW playstyle. The trailer suggested that a hand to hand style may be coming...worked well in Space Marine 2 but I know the Locust are much different than swarms of Terminids. Additionally, dynamic melee combat *could* get really bad like in Callisto Protocol (still a fun game IMO) so im really curious to see what they're cooking, playstyle wise. Given the tech theyre working with they have the chance to really play around with different game affordances. Im concerened the OG gunplay might not market well outside of the core fanbase...too many fun innovations out there right now.

Yeah, it definitely sounds like they were creatively bankrupted if they were considering space for the sixth game . @@wickdaline8668 . yeah, I think I kind of see that happening too. Unless gears of war crossovers with the dead space universe. I would love to see Marcus fenix chop up Necromorphs with a chainsaw lancer.
Man, that plan to go into space would really suck, at that point, just make a Halo spin off, I feel that what really made gears of war gears, was how similar the war was to modern conflict in real life, just that bloody ground war that can decide the difference between life and death, the whole space thing would just throw a lot of that identity away and be more like Halo
I’m glad they didn’t go down that road and it shows the new games didn’t have a real plan. TC were willing to go out in a really dumb way. Seeing we got E-Day instead shows some members of TC want to save this franchise and go back.
In space? What are they gonna do in space!? THE LOCUST DIDN'T EVEN GET THERE SINCE E-DAY!! And if there was locust in space , they'd probably destroy HOD and do space invasion, which speed up the process of taking the humans out😅
You say that now, yet when Gears 5 was coming out EVERYONE wanted that, you shouldn't act like there's nothing that can be done in space and still feel like Gears.
So you people will never want a change, right? Just stuck frozen forever in one place... This franchise will die if you keep wanting things to not change.

Have you seen the lore of those game??? I hope you haven't, because it's a nightmare, and I don't want Gears to have the same happen to it.
@@daranaqelforastero319 i stated going to space would be a mistake and you take it as i dont want any change? theres a difference between necessary changes and too much change. Gears is better grounded on sera and not some multi-planetary super sci fi franchise
@rel3ntless_433 the idea of “necessary changes comes from the mentality of someone who's happy where they are, yet being happy where you are won't assure you that a videogame franchise will be able to survive for long without having to change, Gears never stopped being Gears, despite what everyone claims, we still get strong protagonists, action and strategic gameplay, beautiful set designs and gore, those are the things that are Gears and have remained since day one, Gears never was about masculinity, or testosterone, or brotherhood, it was a always a gory action/strategy game, and even in space it's still Gears with all those elements.
I think we need a game on the Locust. 😅 Imagine playing as the Locust, fighting the lambent to defend our queen. Then, transition to E-day and we fight the humans. Maybe the UIR to show how strong we as the Locust are! And ending it with us either fighting on Azura or to keep our spices alive. And maybe something that will show it leading to gears 4 as the swarm. Or just one whole game about the lambent and destroying the UIR. *species
Taking it to space would decimate the franchise from having something uniquely intelligent to say which is that war is awful and destroys everything and everyone it touches. This was compelling and thoughtful back in the early 2000s when other games were saying the exact opposite or only mildly insinuating what Marcus clearly signals over and over again. Gears 6 should find an intelligent way to end the war which, in my reading of the game's overall tone and architecture, would have to come by Sera's complete obliteration. If devs wanna show some cajones, they need to take the 'war sucks' all the way to the extreme end. They've already ruined Bleszinski's vision with all this Swarm stuff so the merciful thing to do would regain the 'Mad World' motif and show people what happens if you let the Gears of War turn in perpetuity (Cheese metaphor but it works). If they leave Sera the franchise is dead and all that came before is wasted. If anything, do it for Dom...end it.
The whole point of almost all of the games is to defend sera and to save the world so I’m so glad they didn’t go to space because that would screw up the premise of the whole series
I'm so excited for E-Day, I just hope it doesn't flop. Since this is most of humanity's first encounter with the Locust, I wonder what they will call them? The geist? That'd be ironic I do hope we see new/revived enemies too, like a Locust dragon, I was so sad to find it existed at one point but was cut, such a missed opportunity
Hopefully the Coalition has been playing Space Marine 2. If they do something like that (make Co-Op great again!) It could make EDay fly right off the shelves.
Thank you for never losing interest in Gears of War even with its dip in quality. Your uploads don't have to be frequent they just have to be engaging topics about the franchise. Wish I discovered your channel sooner.
They'll probably make us fight hostile creatures on one of the moons. They'll make something up just like they made up the swarm to continue the franchise.
Either something to do with the hammer of dawn or to migrate to another planet as a way of rebooting the franchise. The first imo is acceptable the second not so much
@@longlivetheblackmamba2-8-24 Yeah on second thought they did launch the satellites. But to put the franchise in space because they are so creatively bankrupt and for the sake of sales is an embarrassment. Although I suppose they can excuse it by saying Sera is too hostile to live in due to the Swarm/Locust but we only saw glimpses of what the swarm can do late Gow 5.
Crazy idea; Off the back of E-Day they reboot the series. Take it back to Gears 1 and take us down an alternate timeline with the original cast but different story. The backstory would all be the same, but from Marcus getting out of prison and onwards we could have a gradually diverging plot where new solutions are given for new (and old) problems. As much as I loved the original trilogy, the plot and events closed the series off too much from having an expansive future, which is in part how we ended up with a lot of the nonsense in 4 and 5. Retelling the story could revisit and alter events so the world and the series are open to more stories in a somewhat more prolonged war for the planet. Like not killing the locust off entirely, which to me seemed like a really bad move. Maybe I'm talking crazy here, and I think too many people would see it as walking over the original trilogy (not the intention). But, food for thought.
"As much as I loved the original trilogy, the plot and events closed the series off too much from having an expansive future" Because it was Supposed to END. for how Decent the newer games are (even if narratively weaker) This is the definition of Milking dry at this point it was a tight compact story with comics as a tie in. they either should have kept it in the Locust era with the Myriad of other Side stories of other gears (Kinda like what they are about to do with E-day another prequel like Judgement) or just have let it end.
@@zacharyweaver276I absolutely hate shooting robots and I think the majority of gears fan would agree that the deebees sucked. Swarm was ok but mishandled story wise imo
@@longlivetheblackmamba2-8-24 care to elaborate on your differences of bad writing and poor execution? They’re one in the same to me, if it is written then it is so…if not? Well just throw shit at the wall and see what sticks that’s gears 5. I’m a die hard fan I wanted so badly to love that game and speaking from a mechanical standpoint, there were things to like but I don’t just want a game to play well or look cool. I need it to tell an intriguing story and that game was slop. Just to find out we were going to go to space? That tells me everything about the writing, they didn’t know what to do. I’ll argue gears 4 had a better, if not somewhat tired but classic style story.
@ execution meaning the designs, the fear factor , etc. I genuinely don’t get how none of y’all got the story. In gears 4 we’re learn the locust never died but evolved and they took humans and turned them into swarm soldiers. In the end we learned Reyna was treated differently from the rest. In gears 5 it’s explained the origin of the locust, the importance of a Queen for their guidance and the structure, and kait and her story was just a plot device to introduce the new Queen. Honestly I’m not sure where the space thing came from. Outside of going there to potentially do something to the hammer of dawn satellites for a mission or two I don’t see the point or reason to go to space. But that’s beyond the point
It’s funny Rod said “if you paid attention you’d see we were going to space” (paraphrased) because right around the time Gears 5 came out I was posting that the Scions should launch their own Locust space program and drive the COG underground for an epic Gears 6. Imagine a Swarm satellite with a giant imulsion crystal, which is constantly throwing meteors full of Swarm at the planet. Then 5’s DLC showed that Venom gas is extremely toxic to all life on Sera, but if the COG doesn’t use it then the Swarm will terraform the planet. So now the arms race is who can survive changing the atmosphere of Sera. I don’t think Rod would’ve ever pushed it that far, but if you’re going to space there needs to be a reason. And it would turn Sera into a reclaimed environment down the road, without going 100% Ragnarok.
The only valid way I could see them headed to space is that if there was a satellite weapon orbiting Sera that could destroy the Swarm once and for all. A mix of the Hammer of Dawn and Immulsion Countermeasure. Something like that.
I just hope they don't retcon anything. Won't hold my breath. Edit: Done right, this might be the last good gears of war game since 3 unfortunately. Once they get back to Kait, I'm jumping ship and playing the OG trilogy...again.
What if in gears 6 kait actually becomes the new locust queen and we play as jd only. That'll be a nice plot twist imo. We get to kill kait to not see her again in the rest of the games.
Kait had one game and it was done to set up the new Queen. There’s no indication she was gonna fully take over the franchise that’s like assuming Baird was going to after judgement came out. If anything it’s implied based on the reaction of Marcus on both endings he would be back in the forefront.
What they done to JD Fenix in Gears 5 was downright criminal, they gave Marcus Fenix a Son with a ton of potential. He was Marketed as the new face of the new gears of war trilogy and then in gears 5 they proceeded to massacre his design and have him constantly shit on throughout the story for making tough decisions. It certainly has flaws but I personally love gears of war 4 and it’s probably my favourite alongside Gears ultimate edition, they made a solid beginning and then completely drove the new trilogy into the ground with Gears 5 🤦🏻♂️
I would rather prefer them going down the path of Marcus and jd after losing his friend. This would make sense to the fans but they have to do well on this part of the storyline add more death to some new characters and maybe not kill any of the og characters at least killing all of the swarm. I don’t know how they’re going to do it. E-day has to go well exactly good to give hope for the future. Remake the games already
E-Day, Pendulum War, and Lambent War should have all been not only considered but actually made long before 4 and 5. Judgment, which came out after 3, is near the events of E-Day. While it wasn't as good as the trilogy, it made sense. A story of Baird demotion is a better concept of a story than Marcus's son and Myrrah's daughter. They could focus on young Macus or new characters. 4 and 5 are mistakes. 6 in space would be the last Gears of War game I would play. That would kill the series.
Man i would love to see if they live up to E-Day i would love to be surprised and what weapons that had during that time. Im even more curious about the Hollow Lambent Wars Thank you King Abz! You're videos never stop to catch my attention. New Videos is like Coalition News for me 😄
I always liked the ideas of the newer games more than the execution, so I would like to see an ending to the story set up in those games, but I am happy for them to make a couple spin offs too, I'm hoping E-Day is the project that pushes the team to closer match the feeling of the original games
I would still really like Gears 6 eventually. It would bother me so much if the story is just left unfinished. Then after they finish it? More locust stuff after E-Day please! Or pendulum wars! Id definitely love all that more, but I do personally NEED an ending before going fully into all those other sponoffs and such.
While I didn’t like the story of Gears 5 I still want them to finish the trilogy. It was so irritating the 343 never gave us Halo 6 and all the story was offscreen in books and comics I’ve played through the story of Halo Infinite twice and I still can’t remember what happened to Cortana and the created but I can give you a beat for beat retelling of the original trilogy. I don’t want Gears to end up the same way with no proper resolution to the story no matter how bad it was it should still be finished. It’s almost worse being left hanging than being disappointed.
I know this is an insane take but what if they brought Cliff back and gave him no restrictions other than 'end it.' I dont know the business that well but I think it would be a bold move to bring him back and let him cook. If anything id bring in Glen Schofield too and let him go ham in making the horror elements pop. Could you imagine a 'superdeveloper' type with no BS corporate suits weighing in all the time? I wish I had Elon money....first thing id buy is the Gears IP and then make a final love letter to all the Doms and Anyas out there. Oh, and Id patch Gears 5 and scrap that 'Save JD or Del' scene...so pointless.
I remember having a dream about gears in space. It had the swarm winning the war and in one act of mercy decided to give the serans one chance to leave the planet. that would have started the unreal tournament story. pretty strange coincidence im gonna be honest
Rod: "Imagine chainsawing not-grubs in zero gravity." Writer: "Cool idea. But it's not so good for a cover shooter. Let's stick to JD's war crime story for now." Rod: "Kaits story." Writer: "What?" Rod: "Kait's story. Make her a space marine. And make her gay."
I've been playing Space Marine 2 & Helldivers 2 at the moment, but I'm hyped for whatever is next for Gears. Gears 6 had an interesting idea, I prefer E-Day's direction
Gears 6 should focus on fighting the new swarm who are probably trying to rebuild the old locust empire. You could go running all over Tyran fighting them and even into the hollow earth as the Swarm rally around some new leader and try to dig up old war machines and weapons for the war potentially even searching for imulsion
I'm not a very... serious(?) gamer, I don't keep an ear on game studios and stuff like that. Therefore, I just naturally assumed there wasn't any of the original GoW devs left in the Coalition. It's disheartening to find out that someone who worked on the early games was also the same person responsible for 4 and 5, considering my dislike for them. Yeah, the whole space idea is very off-putting for me. That would imply either the swarm is space fairing or there would be some new alien opponents. Both ideas are very ugh in my opinion. Yeah, I am excited for where they're taking the series now. The various ways they could explore the GoW world is very appealing. Maybe we could get a pure COG v UIR dlc someday! Or, a lot more niche of an idea, but maybe we could see some COG marines someday like I always harp on about. Lol
People are really overreacting right now. The in space type stuff was pretty bad but people acting like gears 4 and 5 was the worst games in existance. It really wasnt that bad and the idea of the locust not being completely killed when the imulsion was zapped from their bodies makes sense, and the idea that DeeBees would exist makes perfect sense considering nobody wants to sacrafice the lives of the few existing humans and they already was making robot technology.
Feel like what you said makes sense and a space exploration gears wouldnt make sense to me at least, yet. If Gears 6 happens and Sera is no longer salvagable and the human population moved somewhere else it would make more sense as a new trilogy or as a followup game, DLC, maybe. But all together sounds like scrapping it outright was the best choice.
Don’t care if Rod was there since the beginning. The whole going into space thing is simply ridiculous for a series like GoW. Damn shame the coalition put him in charge for 4&5, then he just left 😂
i view gears of war in space the same as i view the sci-fi Call of duties, the fans HATED them....and then began complaining that the following CODS were basically the same game with only slightly different coats of paint i'm not saying don't be critical your favorite franchise and accept everything they give you, but if there not allowed to try new things the only logical outcome is replicative fading (when you try to clone and copy something so much if basically degrades to nothing)
Just hoping that the gears of war franchise is back on the rise again and the last 8 years is considered "the dark ages" of the franchise. Hope we can all just look back at gears 4 and 5 and think "glad that's over"
I’m gonna go down the underdog path and say more than likey, the plan was to kill the swarm off for good leading to planet sera being uninhabitable and going to another planet where they can reboot the series and start it over again with a new enemy and a new planet. If THIS was the plan while I prefer they not do that (perhaps just make a new IP in the same universe as gears on one of the other planets in that solar system if they really wanted to do that) but it could’ve been worse. If they were going to space to “fix” the hammer of dawn and that was it, honestly that would have been cool. I guess what I’m saying is obviously he didn’t tell the full details so it’s hard to TRUTHFULLY judge what he meant imo.
Im worried because they have alot more blue hair's trying to pussify the series as they have done with Gears 5. Thankfully Cliffy B is still fighting hard to bring the harsh masculine broshooter back that the series became notorious for. That, and the horror elements that have seem to dissapeared over the course of the last three games similar to how Dead Space became an action game by the third installment.
Gears of War 6 taking place in space would just end up being an Alien rip off. I pray they scrap the space concept and have a gears 2/4 style game where we attack the Swarms Nexus/Hive equivalent. Hivebusters was actually a lot of fun. The classes/perks, maps, modifiers and even the campaign was highly relaplayable. I got my group of friends to try it and they had a blast. The dialogue was a bit lacking for the campaign but the mission went hella hard. It felt more like a gears campaign than 5's honestly! I hope E-Day's development is going well, and management isn't lobotomized. We all saw the atrocious, infamous, franchise ender Halo Infinite and pray its failure and leadership isn't contagious. I also hope the DEI influence is kept to a minimum. Hope all is well Abz! 💪❤
I would just have the locust/swarm win in the end since no matter what the humans do the locust/swarm just come back. I don’t like the idea of them leaving the planet. Doesn’t fit in my opinion. Maybe u can have them try to escape in the story mode but ultimately the locust/swarm destroy whatever plans they had so it leads to humanity’s final moments fighting the swarm which I would make the basis of the multiplayer aspect. Every mode n match in multiplayer is humanity’s final moment against the locust/swarm
Gears 6 needs to be made after E-day, i get they wanted to do a game about E-day, and im massively looking forward to it, anything to make this world and the lore bigger, but they need to finish the second trilogy and i know they will as when they announced E-day there were fans concerned about gears 6 and they said they haven't moved on from the story they were telling, they just wanted to tell this E-day story first I personally loved both gears 4 and 5, i loved it as a continuation of the original trilogy and Judgement Side note, E-day will add to judgement in a way you cant imagine yet but yeah they will come back and do gears 6, it make more sense to do e-day first as doing E-day after 6 would feel wired, its a reason judgement suffered as when Judgement released people wanted to see a main 4th game, not a prequel, but yeah once E-day is done, we will go back to 6 and finish the second trilogies story Then after that yeah im sure we will get more spin-offs, i could very much see us getting a pendulum war or locust war game, or maybe even another game set during the locust war, after judgement but before gears 1, it was a 17 year long war after all
I just read the article last night I’m hoping they don’t go to this direction. Gears of war is one of the shooters that should be grounded, starting with E-Day is the right thing then if they end up doing a prequel series it’ll put gears back on the map & make fans new or old revisit the original trilogy
I mean yeah but they still gotta get their shit together with the modern story. They can’t keep living off nostalgia forever. At some point they need to make a good modern gears story
You can only do so much on the the main story, at some point you have to turn a different direction. Exploring E-day is an amazing thing to do and I hope it's done right and I HOPE THEY SHOW US HOW HAIL ended up happening.
Wasn't going into space one of those scrapped ideas from the original trilogy ? I've never been a fan of the idea either way. I get it from a narrative perspective like Sera is a pretty wrecked planet, but abondining it feels like something our characters would never do. That said, if it was written well, there's alot of story potential there. Like leaving Sera to the swarm and what would happen to them, would they just live peacfully ? Would the cog regroup in space and plan an invasion to retake the planet years later ? Almost like a reverse e day ? Humanity attacking from the sky like how the locust attacked from underground.
I sometimes made troll comments in twitch chats saying that gears 6 will have jetpacks or wall running... honestly if they did go to space that troll 'idea' from me might have been a reality 😅😂
Personally i was fine with Gears 4 and 5, but... i understand completely if we are being civilized here, not near the story as the OG games or at least good enough universally in small group talks individually and large discussions in the franchise fanbase. (AND i guess not near the expectations for being its own thing, but then again its Gears of War, the universe, feeling, the game man) So i hope it gets well for us. "Nah Gears of War is trash now/never been the same since (insert gears title here" is something ill see. But personally kait role could've been main character extra like Anya in Gears 3, then maybe people will like her more aside from natural haters or people who actually have valid points for not liking her, which is fine. Her use was wasted in a way, same JD being mid in Gears 5 and killing off random niece of Carmine in Gears 5. (rip Gary too) Ignoring the real possibility of failure of launch/handling in the future for the game. Focusing on the bright side here hoping JUST hoping Gears of War E Day surprises well in story, multiplayer and feeling of fanbase mostly thinking its alright or heck, awesome perhaps. Idk, just speculation right? We'll see. But ill definitely be there in launch if theres any physical pre order bonus. Highly anticipated game for me aside from GTA6.
Love Rod but I wish we could just scrap gears 4 and 5 😂 the graphics were great and the mechanics were so much better than judgement but I didn’t care for any new characters or enemies. The space direction would have felt out of place tbh
Gears of War is, and always was, about fighting for survival. Transitioning into a space-themed game just ruins it all. Personally I've been quiet about this for too long, but the direction that they're heading, they're leading Gears to the dogs if they go ahead with that little chestnut. 😑 Either the humans fight to take back Sera, or let the grubs have it. Going to space will be weird since the Locust are only indigenous to Sera - nothing close, in the GEARS universe, will come that close to scary, underground-dwelling humanoid monsters! Space travel will just dim the culture of the game even more.
Exactly why they need to do something no other franchise has the stones to do...end the war in the only way Sera knows how to. Its bleak but I dont think anyone plays Gears of War for its uplifting sentiment.
The series really lost its touch when Cliffy B and the old epic crew left the Gears of war stage. They couldve done much better ideas for story and multiplayer with the sequel trilogy if they put off the series longer and came back to show new and old audiences something intruiging like GOW E day.
Yea ngl, i’m REALLY glad they didn’t do this and i’m even more thankful that Rod is no longer there. This sounds absolutely horrendous. I’m praying E-Day is good cause this is their last shot, and i hope afterwards we turn down the path of other prequels or remasters, literally anything that isn’t back to 4/5.
Not sure how I feel about going to a different planet direction. Potential to get too heavy in the sci-fi aspects and lose some of the OG gears grittiness
I gotta be honest with you guys. I'm very glad they did not go with that story. This is why he hated the stupid. The locust evolved and adapted thing because if they can just do that, then the gears gang can never win.
I think we can all agree rod is the reason why 4 and 5 aren’t good and when 5 went under water after his mistakes he left so that everyone else can deal with the fallout and get blamed for it edit : after thinking on this I think the space thing could work but only as a ending it would be a sad ending but also a ending of looking towards tomorrow and leaving yesterday in the past humans get to live and start a new but the swarm still wins in the end if we’re being honest here both sides win I know a lot of people wouldn’t like this because to them it’s copying halo which is why I said it works as a ending to gears of war sure you can say humans try and get earth back 100 years later or so but I think they should do this I think they should just leave the series there
Crazy scenario how long do yall think the gears and UIR can hold the line against the covenant in just a ground war. I'm just gonna leave out the space and naval combat

Ya, theres a reason Call of Duty Infinite Warfare sucked...if I want robot wars and spaceships id happily throw in TitanFall 2 (the BEST).
I agree I'd rather see a game centered around being in the hollow and exploring there than going into space
It depends what they would’ve done in space tbh.
What and have 343 and their army of gun fearing blue hairs soil the series with their mental illness? No thanks 😂
It really isn't, because Gears has an identity, no matter where you place it
I’m glad they didn’t go down that road and it shows the new games didn’t have a real plan. TC were willing to go out in a really dumb way. Seeing we got E-Day instead shows some members of TC want to save this franchise and go back.
I'd play the shit out of a Pendulum Wars game. My dream game though is a gears rts, but then I just like rts games.
rts gears would be JUICY
😮@@KingAbzTV
I've wanted a gears rts since Halo wars, in my mind I've always called it Gears of war wars
In space? What are they gonna do in space!? THE LOCUST DIDN'T EVEN GET THERE SINCE E-DAY!!
And if there was locust in space , they'd probably destroy HOD and do space invasion, which speed up the process of taking the humans out😅
I kinda like that they didn't go into space. Would feel weird if they tried bringing the swarm there or have a new enemy faction to deal with
If e day gets messed up then I'm done with tears of war😭
Tears of War 💀
A Lambent War game where you play as the Locust would actually be a cool idea

Imagine playing as the Locust, fighting the lambent to defend our queen.

Gears 6 in space? I'm done if they mess up E-day
Taking it to space would decimate the franchise from having something uniquely intelligent to say which is that war is awful and destroys everything and everyone it touches.
Right what if the start of gears 2 they just left for the moon … lol 😂
I'm so excited for E-Day, I just hope it doesn't flop. Since this is most of humanity's first encounter with the Locust, I wonder what they will call them? The geist? That'd be ironic
I do hope we see new/revived enemies too, like a Locust dragon, I was so sad to find it existed at one point but was cut, such a missed opportunity
Hopefully the Coalition has been playing Space Marine 2. If they do something like that (make Co-Op great again!) It could make EDay fly right off the shelves.
@@FranksCastle702 True!
Thank you for never losing interest in Gears of War even with its dip in quality. Your uploads don't have to be frequent they just have to be engaging topics about the franchise. Wish I discovered your channel sooner.
My pleasure, I’ll always do what I can for the franchise. Still a lot of important topics to discuss!
Hoping for the best 🙌
Man I hope they've scrapped that idea to go to space in Gow 6. What a joke, like what is even up there that makes sense narratively to do so? 😭
Crazy idea;
Off the back of E-Day they reboot the series.
So just world build
"As much as I loved the original trilogy, the plot and events closed the series off too much from having an expansive future"
Because it was Supposed to END. for how Decent the newer games are (even if narratively weaker) This is the definition of Milking dry at this point it was a tight compact story with comics as a tie in. they either should have kept it in the Locust era with the Myriad of other Side stories of other gears (Kinda like what they are about to do with E-day another prequel like Judgement) or just have let it end.
@@repstyle8518 Then you think we should say good-bye to the Gears universe?
I think they need to rewrite the new gears of war games entirely from the swarm and deebees to the well planned out locust gargoyles
I personally liked the Deebees as enemies but it felt a little convenient that the swarm could hijack them so easily
@@zacharyweaver276I absolutely hate shooting robots and I think the majority of gears fan would agree that the deebees sucked. Swarm was ok but mishandled story wise imo
The writing from the swarm is pretty good tho. It’s execution they need to work on
@@longlivetheblackmamba2-8-24 care to elaborate on your differences of bad writing and poor execution?
I think go into Space is a bit odd for Gears of War, a lot of possibility but not looking like a mix of ww1 and ww2 like we got rn
“This isn’t about you, ITS ABOUT ME!!” Yeah I agree, gears 5 was the worst
Kait had one game and it was done to set up the new Queen. There’s no indication she was gonna fully take over the franchise that’s like assuming Baird was going to after judgement came out. If anything it’s implied based on the reaction of Marcus on both endings he would be back in the forefront.
@@NikosM112 only in our dreams 😔
Yeah always thought they should of made kait the new queen
Im even more curious about the Hollow Lambent Wars
Thank you King Abz! You're videos never stop to catch my attention. New Videos is like Coalition News for me 😄

@KingAbzTV Always have been on 😁
I always liked the ideas of the newer games more than the execution, so I would like to see an ending to the story set up in those games, but I am happy for them to make a couple spin offs too, I'm hoping E-Day is the project that pushes the team to closer match the feeling of the original games
Good to hear from you again, Abz! I hope you and your family are doing well! Congratulations on the arrival of your newborn Prince, by the way!
Thank you my friend! All are well and I hope you and your family are doing well also!
The Coalition is going to milk the Eday era for as long as possible.
I remember having a dream about gears in space. It had the swarm winning the war and in one act of mercy decided to give the serans one chance to leave the planet. that would have started the unreal tournament story. pretty strange coincidence im gonna be honest
Rod: "Imagine chainsawing not-grubs in zero gravity."
Writer: "Cool idea. But it's not so good for a cover shooter. Let's stick to JD's war crime story for now."
Rod: "Kaits story."
Writer: "What?"
Rod: "Kait's story. Make her a space marine. And make her gay."
I've been playing Space Marine 2 & Helldivers 2 at the moment, but I'm hyped for whatever is next for Gears. Gears 6 had an interesting idea, I prefer E-Day's direction
I may be the only one but playing as the locust instead....that would be great.
Lol
The King has returned
People are really overreacting right now. The in space type stuff was pretty bad but people acting like gears 4 and 5 was the worst games in existance. It really wasnt that bad and the idea of the locust not being completely killed when the imulsion was zapped from their bodies makes sense, and the idea that DeeBees would exist makes perfect sense considering nobody wants to sacrafice the lives of the few existing humans and they already was making robot technology.
Agreed. I definitely did not expect a space mission for 6 but we don’t know the full extent of that. I think 6 has a lot potential imo.
good to see Abz back
I hope we still get the Marcus Fenix collection before Gears of War 6 comes out... Using Unreal engine 5. What have you heard?
Literally kept up to date on the books lore I’m totally ready
shit yeah
I say make 4 and 5 non cannon do a new story that starts right after 3 that wouldn’t hurt mine or the community feelings I think.
I like the idea of leaving sera and going to a new planet, essentially that could create a whole new gears franchise alone.. if done correctly
Don’t care if Rod was there since the beginning. The whole going into space thing is simply ridiculous for a series like GoW. Damn shame the coalition put him in charge for 4&5, then he just left 😂
i view gears of war in space the same as i view the sci-fi Call of duties, the fans HATED them....and then began complaining that the following CODS were basically the same game with only slightly different coats of paint
i'm not saying don't be critical your favorite franchise and accept everything they give you, but if there not allowed to try new things the only logical outcome is replicative fading (when you try to clone and copy something so much if basically degrades to nothing)
This!!!!
Just hoping that the gears of war franchise is back on the rise again and the last 8 years is considered "the dark ages" of the franchise. Hope we can all just look back at gears 4 and 5 and think "glad that's over"
We shoulda gotten with the other original plan for gears 6 instead of some space odyssey
all i know a lot of damage control is ahead of us
I’m gonna go down the underdog path and say more than likey, the plan was to kill the swarm off for good leading to planet sera being uninhabitable and going to another planet where they can reboot the series and start it over again with a new enemy and a new planet.
King Abz! 💌🤟
Gears 6 needs to be made after E-day, i get they wanted to do a game about E-day, and im massively looking forward to it, anything to make this world and the lore bigger, but they need to finish the second trilogy and i know they will as when they announced E-day there were fans concerned about gears 6 and they said they haven't moved on from the story they were telling, they just wanted to tell this E-day story first
I personally loved both gears 4 and 5, i loved it as a continuation of the original trilogy and Judgement
Side note, E-day will add to judgement in a way you cant imagine yet
but yeah they will come back and do gears 6, it make more sense to do e-day first as doing E-day after 6 would feel wired, its a reason judgement suffered as when Judgement released people wanted to see a main 4th game, not a prequel, but yeah once E-day is done, we will go back to 6 and finish the second trilogies story
Then after that yeah im sure we will get more spin-offs, i could very much see us getting a pendulum war or locust war game, or maybe even another game set during the locust war, after judgement but before gears 1, it was a 17 year long war after all
I'm trying to figure out why the dude is being web interview by Chun-Li, a cheeseburger, and a building surveyor...
I loved the old and new ones both are fun and loved the campaign for both games but I don't think Sera is done for
I just read the article last night I’m hoping they don’t go to this direction. Gears of war is one of the shooters that should be grounded, starting with E-Day is the right thing then if they end up doing a prequel series it’ll put gears back on the map & make fans new or old revisit the original trilogy
Your right but At some point they gotta do something different. The same thing over and over gets old
It would be cool if we got a whole E-Day trilogy with the ending being Marcus goes to prison leading up to the events of Gears Of War 1.
yeahh that would be interesting but that would include a lot of timeskips
I mean yeah but they still gotta get their shit together with the modern story. They can’t keep living off nostalgia forever. At some point they need to make a good modern gears story
You can only do so much on the the main story, at some point you have to turn a different direction. Exploring E-day is an amazing thing to do and I hope it's done right and I HOPE THEY SHOW US HOW HAIL ended up happening.
Hail? Razor hail or wdym
@XXAnthonyCarmineXx Yeah the map hail.
What about the original plot of gears 6 if they went or go through with it this would’ve been the death of the series
Can you do Resistance 3? And it's good to have you back
Let’s hope when they make a real gears of war 6 we get his idea and not something entirely new because he’s the treyarch/bungie of gears of war
"Going into space"? 💀 BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAH 😂
No wonder this guy got kicked out the back door.
What a disgrace.
💀💀💀
Gears of War is, and always was, about fighting for survival. Transitioning into a space-themed game just ruins it all.
Personally I've been quiet about this for too long, but the direction that they're heading, they're leading Gears to the dogs if they go ahead with that little chestnut. 😑
Either the humans fight to take back Sera, or let the grubs have it. Going to space will be weird since the Locust are only indigenous to Sera - nothing close, in the GEARS universe, will come that close to scary, underground-dwelling humanoid monsters!
Space travel will just dim the culture of the game even more.
plus i do agree with you tht Rob F shouldn’t of written the script for Gears 4 an 5.
Honestly it could've went to space eventually but they've turned it into a circus instead.
ima be honest i'm glad we didnt get gears 6 if this was his idea
SIIIIIIIIII!!!, Rejoice primos!! GEARS GAS!!
I mean Sera is pretty uninhabitable, so much destruction.
You already know gears 6 would be the franchise's fate, war in space?? Cmon now...
Cool, so Rod is to blame for 4 and 5.
Good to know.
Glad Gears 6 under him never happened.
Honestly they need to rewrite kaita story after e day. Like maybe a time skip and make the swarm more terrifying and shit
Personally I'd like to see Gears 6 take on a different character all together
Not sure how I feel about going to a different planet direction. Potential to get too heavy in the sci-fi aspects and lose some of the OG gears grittiness
Dom did not die for this 😭
Glad he left, he was a huge part of the problem with Gears losing it’s way
I gotta be honest with you guys. I'm very glad they did not go with that story. This is why he hated the stupid. The locust evolved and adapted thing because if they can just do that, then the gears gang can never win.
I think we can all agree rod is the reason why 4 and 5 aren’t good and when 5 went under water after his mistakes he left so that everyone else can deal with the fallout and get blamed for it
edit : after thinking on this I think the space thing could work but only as a ending it would be a sad ending but also a ending of looking towards tomorrow and leaving yesterday in the past humans get to live and start a new but the swarm still wins in the end if we’re being honest here both sides win I know a lot of people wouldn’t like this because to them it’s copying halo which is why I said it works as a ending to gears of war sure you can say humans try and get earth back 100 years later or so but I think they should do this I think they should just leave the series there
Crazy scenario how long do yall think the gears and UIR can hold the line against the covenant in just a ground war. I'm just gonna leave out the space and naval combat
as much as i want to give xboxfans this game as an exclusive. the old gearsfan in me really wants to see this series come to playstation. after the 360 never really wanted an xbox anymore and remained on ps. and seeing how many games are going multiplatform that isn't gonna change in the future.
yeah i really wonder what will happen with all that
When PlayStation start giving Xbox fans they games then we can talk. I don’t think it’s fair should go to PlayStation just cuz you don’t want to buy an xbox
@@longlivetheblackmamba2-8-24 why so vexed? 😂 did you even fully read what i wrote lmao
@@kizaruthegreat I’m vexed cuz you want gears to go to PlayStation and I disagree? 😂😂😂 yeah ok
@@longlivetheblackmamba2-8-24 yeah bro big diff in how i said my thing and how you said yours. I said i would love to see it happen and you make it as if i said it needs to happen. Big difference.
who was that chun li at 0:37 ?
GoW isn't Halo. Stay away from the space travel.
Wsp abz

Hi Abz, have they decided to put you in the new game yet with your own story mode.
