Echo… you have to stop listening to others in terms of letting them completely change your mind 😂. Removing your bottled hope is a terrible idea. Maw and Seeping I can get behind. But having BH, BSJ and Roiling Consequence are worth it, even at rank 4. You won’t have the gem power to replace these with rank 10 (fully awoken) 2* gems. This was the flaw in ‘Why Try’s” logic. He may have that gem power, but almost everyone else doesn’t. So replacing those 5* gems and effects/CR/Resonance boosts with party levelled 2* gems will leave you underwhelmed. Don’t believe me? Try it and see for yourself.
And that beserkers eye is going to give him more damage in the long run over a subjugation. And it's flat damage, not conditional.
Berserker will give u 16% instant increase damage.
@@SaintPolix-qt9lp Yeah for sure. If we’re being fair though, we also have to mention that it increases damage taken, but that’s beside the point. The point is that yes, there are perks to awakening 1 & 2* gems that are just as powerful as mid-ranked 5* gems. The argument is far more complex than that, though. Like how much gem power do you have at your disposal, or what gems are you referring too, or are you referring to the 1 or 2 stars in general? You can’t sit there and tell me that taking out a mid ranked 5* Blood Soaked Jade, Bottled Hope or Roiling consequence is worthwhile in almost every single scenario.
As someone with 4k ATI runes this is hilarious to see him flip flop on gems.
He's just doing this for content creation. Anyone who plays this game from day one should know what is important to them base on their budget and gaming play style (ie. 100% pvp/pve or 50% pvp and pve or 70% pve and 30% pvp etc) Further more, he is a content creator that is supposed to be teaching his viewers how best to play the game. Can you imagine if everyone who keeps on following his recommendations ends up wasting their resources over and over again? It's not exactly cost efficient right?
Echo, slowing someone is not loss of control, they can still move around and use skills. It needs to be a stun or a knock back, knock up etc or something that prevents someone from doing anything, slowing movement speed won’t do it. Also, can we talk about shadow war? I am so sick of clans signing up for war and not showing up. It is so rare to actually get a good shadow war matchup. As a diablo partner I love if you could talk to the developers about this issue and come up with a better solution for shadow war.
Fear is also a loss of control.
Wrong. Basically anything that affects movement is loss of control. Total loss of control is different for stuns, freezes, blinds etc.

Instead of focusing on awaking your mother lament to rank 10, pain clasp to rank 10 and viper bite to rank 10, you completely change your gem setup with some questionable 1* gems and removing bottled hope :DDDDD. Hilarious. You should consider upgrading all your normal gems to rank 7 at least instead of spending platinum on legendary gems. Everyone knows that normal gems > reso. Right now people with rank 7-8 normal gems and 2k-2.5k reso are owning whales with 4-5k reso. Focus on updating your normal gems.
Facts
Rank 10 Pain of Subjugation only gives 16% more damage to those suffering loss of control. I used to use that in my necro back first 6 mos of the game, but took it out for other gems. It didn't seem the conditional 16% was all that amazing, even with awakening. Maybe you will think differently
Welcome back to the Light side, Echo! Don't listen to the whiners fixated on Reso, it makes sense to build your gems around your character's skills. Very interested to see where you go with this!
From seeping bile to sleeping bile lol
I’ve been posting that here for quite awhile now, but I’m just a 34650cr 3K low spender and by low spender I mean $4.99 for battle pass and the cost for orbs to awaken 5 slots. Gems that work percent of the time forget them get gems that work based on time. Get gems that specifically work for your character so pick one and build it quit hopping around. I ate my bile and blessing of the worthy to take five one stars to ten awakened filled the slots behind them then figured out which 2 stars I was going to use and ONE AT TIME built them to replace the one stars eating them when all the duplicates were ready. Currently have 4 awakened 2 stars 1 awakened 1 star that will be replaced my currently rank 5 two star Hunger is ready. I have a rank 5 four star hope that I will eventually rank to 6 and a 4 star rank six hellfire fragment for close in combat and 3 star rank five frozen heart for defense.
If you aren’t playing PvP the 5 stars are wasting away especially if they aren’t ranked up. You could gaining the benefit of awakening 1 & 2 stars that absolutely rock PVE. Once you’ve gotten a few try PvP you’ll be surprised. Since going this direction last season finished in battle ground legend and currently move to silver 5 yesterday. All you need to do is figure out which character works best for you. I played demon hunter the first month I played the game then switched to crusader and haven’t changed since. All my builds are centered around support, in battle grounds every uses kill as a successful metric I use assists. A 30+ assist match is a good game for me and an ever better game is a win. So pick a character plot the build focus at get it done. You can do this if you just quit playing hopscotch.😊

Do you think it would be smart for a F2P player to stay away from 5 star gems as well? Right now I’m just keeping BSJ for the movement speed and bottle hope for the reduced cool time?
Some 5 star gems are great, bottled hope, BSJ, roiling, void all of those are worth having. You get a couple 2 outta 5s hold on to em until you get the 3 out of 5 and start uogrsding as you go. Some 2 stars are amazing, even 1 star beserker but not enough in my opinion to make all 5 stars negligible for f2p. A balance is best in my opinion.
When I read some these comments there is something I forgot how to do . But remember now . When I stopped playing this game to compete with others amd started playing to have fun , I actually started to enjoy the game again . I don't have to be in a rush to get things done that happen organically. And I can get excited for the new content coming and take my time .
I nolonger have to spend money to keep up. I only spend money if I want to . $ 15 battle pass for cosmetic in the last 8 months after I changed classes . And I am so much happier with the game . Just play it for what it is and how you want to . Same for echo.. Have fun .

Hey new to the game, wondering what's the best PVE gem build for a Necro focusing on minions DPS?
The mothers lament are cheap because of the new gem, roiling consequence, which is pretty much a buffer version of lament, and many people are replacing lament with it

Some gems may do well. Some may not. Figuring that out is a huge part of the fun.
An unceasing search for a "Holy Meta" is a boring proposition: That's because there cannot be such a thing.
There are just too many variables.

Im a f2p and when asked I always recommend r10 clasp, r10 lament,r10 viper,r10 torment,r10 pebble,r5 bsj as focus gems that work on every class and build
This leaves you 2 gems for class choices pebble is good choice to helps lengthen buffs

Your current Gems set up is already good. Don't focus much in your LegGems. As low spender, you should focus on your secondary stats progress.

Nice journey indeed I would say echo! My mother's lament is rank 8. Just obtained a roiling cons new leg gem momentarily ago. Blessed pebble max rank 10, awakened.
This hurt a little to watch, but only because I’m probably not getting all of the logic here. My thoughts are get your misery and blessed up to 10, move into the awakened slots, for the bonuses, and you need to spend nothing or little to finish them up (total of 6 copies of the 1 stars which includes the first one) and you have gem power already there form the bile extract. Then focus on the pain clap (you need 10 more copies which will cost you about 40-50k plat based on a glance of your server economy and awaken your next slot. Your reso won’t be great, but the effects are solid and cover lost ground from the reso drop. This is coming from a 9.6k reso player with 26k in secondaries at max stats, but I play at 7.6k with viper and misery because they are so strong. People don’t appreciate the power of these lower gems and just focus on reso.

@Wandal012982 this is 100% correct. A) my guess is that his viewers are mostly f2p or low spenders. This hits that target. B) gotta keep content fresh
@@Wandal012982 I totally see that, I just can’t turn the min/max part of my brain off after playing the last almost 2 years at the bleeding edge of shifting meta. That’s why I think his best play is to focus on min maxing what he has access to now or in the immediate future. The power of two stars and the newest 1 star is insanely undervalued (able to square off and take down maxed-out high-skilled players with 2k less reso **playing as a monk** because the gems and set synergies are so strong), which why I was saying even having access to all the top gems at r10 5/5, I choose certain 2 star and right now the new 1 star gem because they are so effective. When I’m building my roe rosters on the immortal side, I will purposefully set aside certain 2-4k players to be pivotal in hold off 5-6k teams because they are so powerful despite their lower resonances. This is because they know how to min-max within their resources available. People like Rilakumma, Fanfan, Babs, Keroro, etc. these are the pinnacle of f2p and low-spend players on NA west. Absolute game changers who know the mission and execute with elite precision. IYKYK
Speaking of crest runs , I ran 50 externals in a row and did not get a 5 star drop , I have the logs to prove it , beware !
I just started doing this and have 1 slot I don’t know what to use. Got a Bloody Reach, Pain Clasp, Mothers, Vipers, Freedom and Devotion, Berserkers eye, and BSJ. Can Y’all help me what to use for my Summon Necro

Yep, ranking 2 star gem to 10 is worth it. Got 2 so far. Working on another. Have mothers lament and pain clasp lvl 10. Working on vipers bite right now. So hard to make 5 star gems worth it.

Hey Echo do you think it's wise to do your gems over when you're going to be trying out the new class that comes out in June? You mentioned that it will take you a while to get the gems where you want them which it will if you're going to be awakening and gemming the awakened gem for the bonuses. 2 star gems require 1 rank 1 and 2 rank 2 gems. Just getting the dupes for those a lone will take a while.
I don't think it's a good idea to swap out Bottled Hope for Blessed Pebble. Blessed pebble has way lower benefits than BH even at rank 10. It doesn't have additional damage too compared to BH. I get the idea that you wanted awakening bonus but I would rather get 2stars awakened and a lone 5 star than having 1 star gems in my set. Save BH, Roiling and BSJ. They are op even at lower ranks. You also need to consider BG / PVE efficiency on almost all gems available so as a low spender, you don't waste platinum and money.
Slowing someone is not a loss of control! It needs to be a stun or fear, something that prevents someone from doing anything.

I have 2 sets of gems fully awaken PVP build 1 and 2* now using my 5* for progression pvm builds
I see nothing wrong with, being where you are in the game, looking for ways to tweak your build with a bit of trial and error. Keeps things fresh and interesting trying new things, i.e, class change, new build, etc. It will be interesting and informative to see how these changes go for you
Again you have to know and do ur research before upgrading and purchasing gems especially if ur avg low spending. Wasting plat n money is very very costly.

@@VaDeRbLaDecant put gems you craft on market. Pets is also a good eay to make money. Sell your pets on the market. Another way is to buy orbs with real money and use them to farm legendary gems in elder rifts and those you can sell.
But I don't have the crest to play elder rift without that I can't get those drops right?

4% chance to proc on seeping bile as a 5 star gem was never effective in any form of combat.
Agreed it’s one saving was that it used to interrupt healing but now that that has been nerfed its pretty useless.

Lol seeping bile is still good in pve. The loss in magic find is abysmal. Definitely wrong move. If you can awaken the two star why bother.

I agree the amount of plat he spent on that 4 star bile. That was a solid investment. Now he has flip flopped again. And will lose out in the long run as a low spender this will take ages to build up to a decent lvl.

Think you need to decide on a gem strategy. Then stick to it. All the swapping of gems. Is just destroying your account t. All the while you flip then flop. You will not get anywhere.
Low spender yeah sure, all this indecision is costing you time as well as money. Stick the best gems in with the highest ceiling and grind them up. Slow and steady wins the race in these games.

Elixir goes to 24% buddy at r10. Been testing the lance helm that slows mobs with abiding and ermm ns.
I have 5 star gems but i am still not a big spender at all. But if you are a free to play or only buy the battle pass. Yeah go with 2 star gems. =O)

When you began to rank up that Pain of Sub, you said lets clean up some of the clutter gems before using the gem power you got from Seeping bile. I feel that clean-up OCD desire but, I also cringed a lil bit because, once you r10 that 1* (of in which you have way more than enough GP to do so at the moment and only need 5 more dupes), you might could've used some of those as insert gems afterwards. Unless you know for a fact that any *food 1* " gem isn't going to be needed once you r10 a goal-set 1*, same could be for goal-set 2*s that you may be close to r10-ing, then I wouldn't crush them if you have other food means, like extra GP to spare. That's just my opinion of how I try to manage & handle excess gems in my bag.
Instead of swapping lege gems, better focus on left side gems.. after 2 years of playing, even as a f2p, having lvl 5-6s plain gems is a laugh..

For pve its rly doesn't matter. Just CR and some reso. Sure awakening is good but 3-4 slots its enought. I think Crusader must have:

-5star Seeping Bile
-5star BSJ (but like You said its only for speed, so its support gem) but good to have / if not u can choose Starfire also Maw good option but 90% its gem for pvp.. so no

and again pvp gem The Abiding Curse 100% for pvp. You dont need this in pve.. Sure you can use it for now. Upgrade for rank 5 and put inside Pain Claps after awaking.
