- Welcome to my video! In this one, we're doing an all-day wear test/ 12 hour wear test of the new Hourglass Ambient Soft Glow Foundation in the shade 8. This new Hourglass soft glow foundation recently launched and is supposed to be the newest addition to the Hourglass Ambient line. This soft glow foundation claims to give 16 hours of wear, transfer proof and blur and perfect the skin with a natural, soft and airbrushed finish.
For some background, I have combo/oily skin and my foundation shades are usually in the medium, medium/tan category. This Hourglass foundation was a tricky one to shade match - It took 4 different shades to find out which was my perfect match! I share with you my first application of this new ambient soft glow foundation, my first impression, as well as several check-ins throughout the day ending at hour 12.

MY SHADES:
Typically I'm in the medium shade range with neutral undertones. These are the shades I've used in the past, but they may vary since I do get very tan in the summer and lose a lot of color in the colder months. It just depends on when I've tried them!

It's so difficult with this line lol. But now that I have, I've worn it several times and love it!
it’s always difficult with Hourglass for us brown skinned people 😅 it’s something about the undertones they don’t get 100%
I thought we were the same shade but i got 10.5 … now I’m wondering if i should have gotten shade 8….

I’m not sure if you’ve tried the NARS light reflecting foundation, but if you have, how would this compare?
I’ve only tried it once and it was when my MUA used it on me my wedding day! I think that one gives a beautiful airbrush finish. But from what I experienced, it’s just a touch more matte

Btw dis one and nars light reflecting reflect which one is better in coverage and longwear test

Would you recommend this for a wedding day? Do you think it could withstand tears?
That's a great question! I think in combination with a good concealer and powder, it would wear nicely through a wedding. I personally didn't do my own wedding makeup and I had an MUA day-of so I can't say for sure. She used the NARS light reflecting foundation on me, which had a bit more glow but still lasted through my entire day because of prep and layers. So I think good prep and setting would make this a good option for a wedding day!
This was sadly a no for me. I tried it over four times and it wore so terribly on my oily face. And shade matching was also hard for me. I got 7.5 but it was definitely too light. I’m medium/tan :-(
Aw I’m sorry to hear that. After using it for a few weeks I feel like this is one of those love it or hate it type of foundation!
Hey hunni this was a No no for me it didnt even last 3 hours on my oily skin i have tried myltiple primers and givenchy settinf powder.
Please try the New reformulted all hours foundation
I’m olive skinned and I can’t decide between 8 or 9. What would you say the difference between these two shades was? I don’t want too much pink in it or it to look orange ❤️
8 is more neutral while 9 is a little bit yellow!
@@ByKristinaStudio we wear a lot of similar shades in foundation, just worried 9 will be too yellow. I can’t see swatches or the shades in Aus 🥺
@@1989Channy i feel like you could go with either! Because I debated on both bc I think with concealer and my other face makeup, I could’ve made either work!
@@ByKristinaStudio Thankyou so much, they have proper arm swatches now on the HG website, but the 9 looks very warm/orangey in those compared to 8. So it keeps confusing me 😪
@@1989ChannyI know this was a while ago but I had the same dilemma. 8 was a spot on match for me but I went for 9 instead. The reason? 8 was too neutral and made me look dead… 9 made me look alive. It’s much warmer but not a bad thing in summer and after concealer it just works

Weird. You look darker than me in this vid and I tried shade 10 in this foundation and it seemed too light. 😑

Well maybe you’re just darker than you thought. Lighting has a big impact on what skin color you appear to be.
Too expensive! I can put gas in my car and drive it for 2 weeks for this amount!
