    The problem I found in Yang style was they the way showed applications was the same as it's done in the hand form should be performed in the same way as in the hand form, I found in the wu style a better understanding of applications as in the hand form applications are hidden.

    Thank you for these practical application videos! :D
    The quick & vicious demos are especially valuable, because they give a preliminary glimpse of what to expect when applying the move in a serious fight (assuming the one applying it has the appropriate control & power)

    Any sort of martial arts training is aimed to enhance your natural fighting skill. Tai chi focuses more on breath control and posture, like qi gong. Any practitioner can be defeated if you rely on forms.

    Boxing used head weave bob weave while taichi slide parry and both still use same timing.
    Slide parry can possibly end the the fight more quicker while bob & weave like boxing still take time even peekabo sty like mike tyson. By The way this move from taichi still ilegal in boxing due to head pushing wasnt allow but taichi punch to the body is ok.

    I find it bizarre that people talk about “ disrespect” in regards to form application. Most people that talk about this and insist on”Taiji” principle read the classics written by the Wu clan and than try to virtue signal,usually they have not read Taiji literature widely and have not studied traditional fighting application of their style in CMA.

  • @taicenova

    I don't want to be rude, but I see too many mistakes and disrespect for basic fighting strategy and disrespect for classic Taijiquan texts. 1 Stepping out of the attacker's direct power is fine, but the direction of the foot of the right foot is not aimed at the center of the attacker, "my center of power does not control his center" this is a major mistake. 2. if the defender's left hand reaches the attacker's head, it should be immediately followed by a blow to the head with this hand if it is within reach. a blow to the temple or a stab to the eyes is offered 3. stepping between the attacker's legs, his knee is aimed at the inner knee of the defender, this is a gross mistake, (acupuncture point spleen 10 is completely exposed) we always want to get behind the opponent's back and control his limbs and not on the contrary. 4. pressing the attacker's head with the defender's left hand is a misunderstanding of Taijiquan fighting strategy and Taijiquan principles. Why close the door where I can enter? The defender's right fist can immediately hit the attacker's left free ribs, (Liver and Spleen tract, Gallbladder) immediately! Why does pressure on the head of the defender close the door on this shot and fill the space? 5 A right hand strike to the attacker's back causes only minor damage. The whole application seems to be effective, but it is not practical and increases the time of the attack, which leads to a potential error.

      never make a philosophy out of your fighting style. fights aren't going to go how you want them to. you have to adapt quickly and that means not sticking to arbitrary principles.

    • @taicenova
      @taicenova Год назад +3

      @@yamiyomizuki This is not about philosophy, this is about martial arts and that has the main goal, to eliminate the opponent, quickly, safely, with minimal loss of health of the defender. The principles of Taijiquan that I mention help to win. They are not a dogma but a guide to victory. And as a tool to adapt and perceive strength, we use tuishu exercises. ( I feel Bruce Lee and his philosophy. )

    • @yamiyomizuki
      @yamiyomizuki Год назад +7

      @@taicenova okay, 1 don't cite bruce lee, he's not an authority on anything. 2 principles are nice and all, but at the end of the day you aren't going to be in a fight were you get to decide how you want to use your techniques and have it work, you are going to have to use what you know as best you can as the fight happens, and that means not worrying about weather or not your application follows ideal principles but rather weather it's going to work in the moment.

      A little knowledge is dangerous. There are no applications in Tai Chi and thus all charlatans invent them to bolster their popularity and gain naive students who develop a false sense of confidence. Pity the poor followers of such masters who are massacred in a street melee due to their ignorance. Maybe the master should test his amateur theatricals in a real scenario with a no holds barred MMA exponent. PS. Please book an ambulance in advance before the trial. No offence intended, just friendly advice to all would be theorists. The best defence is always practise awareness and avoid all confrontations if humanely possible. Peace be upon you.

      No amount of training will actually prepare for mistakes in life situations where people have to defend themselves.... anything can and will happen.... So dont knock this "DEMO" of possible ideas.... it's only ideas .... and to demonstrate these ideas you go step by step... that is all.... creativity is the point... this move won't look exactly the same as done in the demo above in a split second defence situation... of course not... yet the idea is there and concept is there to be practiced in any posture ....
      break this up into evade control and finish... simple... this is the idea of this video.. And if done at speed in a tiny narrow stance, not big open stance... which is normally what happens in defence outside of sport , this idea can certainly work if you get it right...
