Thanks for the link! You should come down to San Antonio Tx. I believe that Alex Peace comes down pretty often, we could use a little more Chicago flavor!!
People keep arguing whether this guy is good or bad or any DJ in general. I got one view. Crowd Full - Good DJ Crowd Empty - Bad DJ Doesn't matter how you do it, in the end it is for the audience.
I'd be very interested in seeing you do a quick Jungle/DnB set if you had the time. overall tho, this set was very creative and I def dug it :) big ups!
man thats awesome, great transitions and song choices - can i ask, what was ur setup for the qst song UFO-jack beats rights? So you play it on both decks and just scratch with one? really must have been epic stumbling across such a good scratch and song combo that compliments so well - peace
This shit is dope af.. Bro you are off the chain wit the tables. I see shit like this and get motivated to get my skills up fashooo. Def a great dj, selection, style, music knowledge..all Grade A. You killed it fan. Any real fan of Good Music and the art of spinning knows that!! #Triple Salute
Just a question and I'm not trying to troll or anything, but i see you making tempo adjustments, but you're not wearing headphones, are you matching bpm visually on the screen? Love your skills man!
This is dope. Only thing that would've made it better is if it was all vinyl. I know I sound like I'm stuck in the past but I miss the old battles where DJs had to stack records.
Totally agree. Introducing electronics like the serato scratch live and a laptop to the turntables' set introduces disbelief and begs the question of how much of it is premixed?
Ok DMC got to a point where all the dj's were doing was standing on their heads and scratching. They weren't showing how to use the turntable as an instrument anymore. The typical routine would be juggling, some mixing, then trying to scratch with your foot. I'm come from the old school. One of the reasons Turntablism almost died out. The technology has allowed imo the turntable to be a musical instrument again, showing dope transitions, toneplay, finger drumming that was not possible before. Live edits etc.. I remember when deejays were calling other deejays fake bc they would use a bpm counter and label their records with the bpm's of the track. I think that all deejays should learn to beatmatch by ear without a doubt, bc a lot of times the software gets the wrong bpm and then it shows who's actually put on the work needed to be completely well rounded before they use sync. Bc it's an important skill to have bc sometimes you won't be able to use it. Like when mixing between different genres etc.. It's an important skill but only a small part of deejaying.
Brother you KILLED it! Honestly you should have taken first place..Heard the other "winning" set...Not as smooth on transitions and many flaws...most importantly i enjoy listening to this set. Good job man keep it up! you have my support! (background LA Hollywood Dj) Trentino
For those of you bashing this for taking advantage of technology, you need to get with the times. Even Grandmaster Flash understood that - why cant you. That's like telling him he couldn't use crayons to mark records. DJs use the tools given to them. This is a high-skill routine in my eyes - give credit where it's due. Those of you bashing - I expect to see you at Thre3style or kindly shut it.
Idk what I’m enjoying more. The set or watching the couple in the back enjoy it lol
Same too 😁
It's been like three and a half years since this video was posted, and I keep coming back to it. Gotta be one of my favorite live sets ever.

Crowd Full - Good DJ
Crowd Empty - Bad DJ
Doesn't matter how you do it, in the end it is for the audience.
An empty crowd might also be caused by the booker, if the booked a hip hop dj to a techno venue.
please comeback to thre3style....
Die Abwechslung der Lieder ist mega krass. HAMMER DJ !!!!!!!
That mix in with I'm Diffrent was dope i want to try and do that

- DJ Naveen Sharma
This is dope. Only thing that would've made it better is if it was all vinyl. I know I sound like I'm stuck in the past but I miss the old battles where DJs had to stack records.
You cant do this Tone Play or Cue Point Drumming with normal Vinyl ... ;-)
Totally agree. Introducing electronics like the serato scratch live and a laptop to the turntables' set introduces disbelief and begs the question of how much of it is premixed?
all in the name of progress and evolution my friend
So much progress that a computer could do everything he's doing by itself?
that would be a very disappointing day :(

Sick love seeing turntables being used as a instrument.
Then you might wanna look at the Turntables...... he does not use them as much as you think. He is using trigger pads A LOT.

Me he quedado flipando que destreza y habilidad a los platos tiene el Trentino este.

si has flipado con este, mirate a dj david en la final dmc de 1990 o a kentaro en la de 2002.

He fucking killed this set. Wow
Can you use you own mixer at these competitions?
Awesome! You've got very fast hands :D
that was off the chain
he got mad skills
No audio! Please fix
fix audio plz
@Truth B Told
He is using IEM's.
Definitely values his hearing
why does he lick his fingers every time when he's gonna scratch? just for grip on the vinyls?
I see people complain about vinyl v tech dj. I think of it more like, just because you can shred on guitar hero doesn't make you a guitarist.
so many licks in this vid.. i wonder how that mixer and turntable smells like,, lol
