When it comes to matching the latest technology with world-class turntablism skills to produce next-level routines, Miami's DJ Craze is the ultimate choice.
In this video, the 5x DMC World Champion showcases the power of the new TRAKTOR SCRATCH generation by creating a live dubstep remix, controlled by his golden Technics turntables and two controllers.
KONTROL X1 is used to play a live beat using one-shot drum samples in TRAKTOR's new Sample Decks, while Craze also triggers various other samples and cue points with his custom white MASCHINE controller. A beat juggling section in the middle leads to the finale where Craze combines fast cue-point juggles and vocal samples with the integrated TRAKTOR effects.
All things combined, this latest Turntable Tricknology routine effectively highlights the vastly expanded creative potential of the new TRAKTOR generation. For more videos and detailed product information, please see: www.native-inst...

In 1906 the Disc Jockey was born out of Stockton CA. Records were played back to back and most were not recorded by the DJ playing them. What they "should" do is up for debate. But do not think that if you are not doing anything crazy with the music that you are still not a DJ. Artists and Disc Jockeys should never be compared. Do you feel owned? Aww im sorry...

It takes zero skills to be a DJ compared to a producer.
Seriously, DJs don't do jackshit, anyone can play bunch of tracks in a row and call it a set.
Or to take a build up of one track and put a drop of another track after it.
DJs just take other people's work and put their name on it... Yet they get much more recognition and respect.. That's sad..

He is using two Technic 1200 Turntables with a Pioneer 909 mixer and Traktor Scratch Pro 2. All you need is your turntables, a (digital) mixer, and the Traktor Box (Traktor Audio 2.4,6,8 etc.) and special control vinyls that traktor sells. Then you hook up your turntables and mixers to the box via RCA, then the box is gonna have a USB cable that you hook up into your computer via USB, After hooking everything up, run Traktor and configure the settings for Timecode and youre all set! :)

You get so used to seeing really talent-less DJ's muck about with this equipment its nice to be reminded what somebody with real "musicianship", skill and years and years and years of experience can achieve. Definitely keeping the art form alive
    (did I say "years" enough?)
