My theory is that the concept of "tracks" is going to be totally changed. I think that there will be 8 "Maps", each with 4 "tracks" on them, explaining the fenced off sections of MB Circuit, with more maps being added over time.
As long as everyone understands it would take me like a solid week to put something solid together, I'm very excited to make those future analyses from full trailers!
18:40 Maybe the bag is a collectable? You can get more Kart parts by finding all of the "Gear Bags" or something. It could just be one of a few on the track. The rest could be hidden, encouraging exploration in these courses. I don't know. Just a fun idea I had. Great video!
N64 and GameCube each had their own art style for characters. Ever since the Wii the characters have been pretty much the same until now with no major changes. I'd be 100% down for a new artstyle for the Mario games on Switch 2. it will be VERY refreshing. I think Mario Wonder was a glimpse at a new start for Mario going forward.
This is easily the best analysis of this footage I've seen! Seemingly nobody else has even noticed the anti-grav section in the background. The scale of these tracks looks way bigger than anything we've seen before. I think being able to see large distances away is going to be a big feature of this game. Just imagine how far you can see when you're on the anti-grav section. One thing that has me curious is the big spotlights right in front of the starting line. I don't think they'd be that prominent if they weren't going to be used, could there be time of day stuff?
18:40 The bag is very intriguing indeed. Maybe there are special items to collect in the tracks similar to the keys in Diddy Kong Racing. That is assuming we get some sort of Diddy Kong Racing adventure mode. 🤔
I love these analysis videos. You always pick up on details the dozen other analysis youtubers miss. Little things like the karts tipping and suggesting potential mechanics like kart jostling as an attack, from such small, blink and you'll miss it moments. As for that bag item outside yoshis diner maybe it is just a track collectible. Maybe it's tied to missions or achievements "Deliever one yoshi burrito to koopa troopa in fire flower gas station while coming first this race", although ive mainly only seen that kind of thing in f2p / live service games. Maybe it's a special track item, double dash had character items maybe this has track specific power ups. The fact it looks like a food bag suggests it is specific to this locale, unless other tracks have yoshi diners lol. Also there's a pink yoshi in the delivery window waving at the drivers. That's cute.
if the little front skis are part of the wheel customization, the kart itself looks like it can use other wheels too, don't give up hope yet on the customization!
Given how big this track looks I'm wondering if maybe they're going to feature several environments with different courses in them. Similar to how the SNES had Mario Circut 1, 2 and 3. Either that or it's more of that three laps but none are the same lap thing. Still, wouldn't be surprised at all if they took what they learned in Tour and The Booster Course Pack and realized that in a lot of cases they were using mostly textures and a few specific models here and there, so it made sense to just build out a much bigger playground with all those assets that can be reused without anyone noticing. Because this course definitely feels bigger than the tracks in 8. Definitely excited for this game.
Yeah it definitely feels really likely that we could see the "1, 2, 3" versions of tracks set in the same environment like SNES and Tour. Something about Mario Bros. Circuit just doesn't feel like it'll change each lap to me. But hey, maybe I'm wrong!
Great analysis video ! However, I still wonder, why do the drivers are racing in a single line in the final clip ? It striked when watching the first time, but I don't see this element mentioned in the conversation...
It will NEVER happen but something I would love to see in a new Mario Kart is a mode like Double Dash. Since 24 players can be on screen they can do a mode where it's 2 players in one vehicle but 12 karts.
I hope we get some new mechanic in this Mario Kart game and i hope it has 0 retro tracks given that MK8DX mostly focuses on retro tracks and outside of Mario Kart live home curcit we haven't had a single Mario Kart game that focused on Nitro courses, plus 24 player battle mode will be pure chaos.

But like that would be horrible because that means way less unique themes 😀
0:04 Cool Mario kart Jacket Tris 😎
Man if from just 5 second teaser you can get so much. I cant imagine how the analysis will be when a full trailer releases. Great video!

Boy... Has it been a long Journey playing Mario Kart 8. After nearly 11 years FINALLY a new Mario Kart!

I've never hit thumbs up so fast.

it might be the biggest curiosity from this reveal trailer at the moment!
Tris always does the BEST analysis videos. Great job!
Great points! Theres a few small ones I actually didn’t notice! Freaking awesome stuff. I’m
So keen
A new Mario kart can't believe we are finally done with Mario kart 8
Love that intro with the jacket!
That opening was shnazzy
Amazing analysis and coverage! Looking forward to future analyses for the Nintendo Direct in April :D

Always had the best analysis! Gamexplain could never :p

Yeah this Mario Kart does look very different now from before
Judging by the shape of the sign, the game could be MK9, or it could be MK°n (MK ON), or it could be MKR

I was about to go to bed. Ok 20 more minutes.
Have you noticed the lack coins in track because there doesn't seem to any.
It's possible they may just be turned off! But yeah, no coins in sight is interesting
@@ToonTristhere are coins in the road past Yoshi’s diner, just past the next set of boost panels. Looks like 4 coins, two on each side of the road
I love the content you make.
Tris, you're my go-to for all things Mario Kart!
It's Forza Horizon meets Mario Kart.
The trailer is clearly showing a cross-country race.

LETSSSS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
If I'm being honest, I'm not liking it! It looks like the artstyle from Wonder came back and I hate that artstyle so much!
That artstyle is fantastic and really charming. The hell are you smoking?
