I think if you went to Scotland next time you might have a better experience with the scotch egg, as we have many places that have different takes on it. Giving a greater variety of options with different flavours. I’m glad your having an over all great experience on your trip and your videos are amazing! All the best on your future travels. 😊
The thing I always tell people about Brits is that here it is polite not to bother strangers. It’s polite to just kind of pretend other people don’t exist unless you have a reason to speak with them, which can come across as unfriendly, but it’s just us minding our own business. If you do need to interact just an “excuse me, can you tell me where the Tube station is?” or similar question will bring a friendly answer.
Cold Egg freaks me out so well done with the Scotch Egg George haha!I've had a warm Black Pudding Scotch Egg with a runny Egg yolk before and that was amazing! Also you need to come up North when you next visit the UK we are super friendly and have a lot of culture and Liverpool is just across the water!☺
I had a scotch egg at a wedding once, it was hot and the yolk was runny. And it was sooo good! 😋 I agree that a cold one would be underwhelming compared to that
Scotch eggs taste the best when they are freshly fried! So yeah you can eat them warm. And I totally trust your review on that cold one you had: it didn't look good, and was way too expensive (£5!!)!
9:20 did this guy just call *scotch* eggs English? George, don't be tricked, they're Scottish and always will be! You need to come to scotland to get actually good ones, best thing is that they're £2 instead of £5 here. Haha, love your videos from scotland
I think mustard goes better with Scotch eggs than ketchup but I’m of course not a local and just tried one one time at a gastropub in the USA. Dijon or brown mustard seems best.
The problem tends to be that the most widely known and readily available stuff in Britain is not terribly interesting, but there are definitely there if you're willing to foot the cost... or if you're not in London (maybe next time consider Manchester? It's colder, sure, but the costs are bound to be lower, so you might get better options). With regards to the Scotch Egg, you're right about it needing to be warm. You *can* eat it cold, but I wouldn't advise it. The warmth really brings out the flavour of the meat and the spices. Ideally, if you can get it right when it's made (near enough just out of the oven) then it's much better. Oh, given your visit to Greggs recently, if you get the chance, there's better stuff there than the over-rated sausage roll. If you don't like dry, bland food, the Bakes are probably a better option - any time I go into Greggs, I'll always go for a Steak or a Chicken Bake. There's even a 'Festive' version they do during the Winter (chicken, bacon, sage & onion stuffing, cranberry sauce). If you're ever here around that time, look out for that one, it's like a roast dinner in a pastry pocket 😁 Overall, don't be put off coming back to Britain again, there's a lot more to show, it's not all 'Grey London'. Heck, I'd even say you've not seen some of the better parts of London! Oh, and make sure you visit Ireland at some point (I'd suggest Cork, bit biased since I'm from there, lol!). While we have some similarities with the UK, we've a lot of differences too! You just mightn't find them if you stick to the East side due to how long Irish history has been fused with the UK's, and the fact that that side is the most industrialised.
If anyone is wondering what that woman was doing at the start nah she wasn't being nice and offering flowers. She was offering flowers and then asking for money after 💀
When ever people say certain foods are bland it makes me think someone could make so much money from making a better version of it and selling it lol. But it's probably more some of it is old people like it and its tradition.
George, I couldn't find this video at my youtube feed or at your channel. I watched because I saw the link on your instagram's story. Maybe you have to unblock the video, here appears: "unlisted". So sad that your time in London ended!!! Ready to see you in Belgium!
Ahhh the legendary British breakfast 🤤🤤🤤 Big Ben is so impressive to see, in camera it's difficult to realize but I saw it with my own eyes and it's amazing !! Nver tried this big "metaball with egg inside" I am curious now ^^. Thanks for the video George !!
Proper breakfast! Yeah that scotch egg looked a bit dry - the outer part shoud be sausage meat and made with pepper to taste a bit better. Big Ben is actually the name given to the bell in the clock tower but everyone thinks the tower is big ben :) Glad you had a good time in London, but the UK is a lot more than just that :) Safe onward journeys!
Poor Georgie! I could have told you Scotch Eggs are not great, but... COLD!!!! BLECCCH!!! I have never, would never eat one cold! Last time I had one I was in uni, and it was hot and even more bearable because I had 'dead horse' with it, Aussie (originally Cockney) for tomato sauce. But, don't worry, PLENTY of T Sauce in Oz! ☺
Hi George! I’m really enjoying your comments about food and the Brits. I made fun of James (my British BF) and he was upset but he recognizes that the food really “is sad, gray and unrecognizable”… 😂 about the behavior he says “we are reserved and you Japanese are like that too”…So you go to Belgium, I even smell chocolate 😋 see ya 👋
I traveled to London for the first time last month. The scotch eggs are terrible if I am completely honest. I tried it at this exact place last month. UK is not that great when it comes to food….
7:04 - Big Ben's time was showing 10:17 AM, my local time was 5:17 AM, since you are in the UK, George - You are like 5 hours ahead of me! I'm in the US anyway lol. 😂
6:08 “I love Brits, I love Brits…I think sometimes they might get a bit of a bad reputation, being a bit grumpy or not very friendly…” The stereotype of Brits-that they’re “proper” and “reserved”-seems like it’s a century out of date. Decades ago, when I was in the UK, I found the Brits to be, well, hilarious - just about _everything_ they said was funny. The husband of a couple I was traveling with had gotten to the top level of a double-decker bus; the wife, at the bus entrance, was blocked by the conductress from going in because the bus was too full. She protested, “But my husband is up there!” to which the conductress replied tartly, “Well, you’ll just have to get a divorce, lovey!” (SPOILER: The wife didn’t and the conductress, in fact, let her on.) Have a fun time in Belgium! Obviously, the top things to have there are fries, waffles and chocolate. Maybe try the _Frikadellen met Krieken_ [Meatballs with Cherries] or _Konijn met Pruimen_ [Rabbit with Prunes], if you can find them-they’re probably a bit better than the meatballs with cherries or the rabbit with prunes back home in Japan.
I’ve lived on this island for 40 years and I’ve never tasted a scotch egg. Makes me sick just thinking about it. Poor you Mr George Japan, sir! Enjoy Belgium - chips and chocolate and monks beer! (Nothing like ruining a good-ish meal with baked beans! Argh. 🙀😸😹)
That breakfast looked exactly like what my host family’s dad would eat on the weekend (I stayed with a host family in Ireland, did a month long exchange). Those things are massive. I know it’s probably good, but I really hate those beans in ketchup - I think that a lot of Brazilians would have a hard time with sweet sauce on beans. The scotch egg looked dry, cold and sad 😂😂😂 Thanks for the great video! I think I’d love to go on the London Eye (the ferris wheel) for a ride, but I bet it’s super expensive…
That's me! 🙋♀Hope you loved the breakfast George, London will miss you ☺
Hi Luisa! I really loved the breakfast :) I’ll miss you and London too!🇬🇧 Hope to see you in Japan next time 🇯🇵
George being Honest about British cuisine I love it
I’m super honest

Yes I’ll definitely go to Scotland after 2024! Thank you 😊

This British breakfast is seen as lunch here in Brazil. 😂
Nice video, George!!
Yeah that’s true😂 Thank you for watching! :)
Wow! What a breakfast, kinda looks like what we have here in Brazil for lunch 🤣
Excited for your new adventures! ❤️
Yeah it’s pretty similar but missing some rice!!

😋 I agree that a cold one would be underwhelming compared to that
Oh I want to try the one you had!!
Scotch eggs taste the best when they are freshly fried! So yeah you can eat them warm. And I totally trust your review on that cold one you had: it didn't look good, and was way too expensive (£5!!)!
Oh that was a tourist price!💀
@@GeorgeJapan Yes definitely
Should have been taken to Camden Market... much better options... legendary Biegel Shop
I’ll go there next time!
Another cool fact: George is like me, not a morning person. I go to bed late
In the morning 💀
At night 😆
That breakfast looked like my everyday lunchs in Brazil, just missed the rice to be exactly like them!
Right! I needed some rice!
Scotch eggs should be eaten hot! With a slightly runny yolk in the middle

English breakfast is elite with hp sauce

Oh with mustard sounds good!
Or maybe Löwensenf scharf....🤘👍 Or Hela Curryketchup...
Glad you enjoyed your time in London, George!
I had a very good time there!😊🇬🇧
A couple of things I have in common with George: not being a morning person at all and (2:25) a strong tendency to use 本音 over 建前.
Hahaha I prefer using 本音
