Candy is amazing. So real, so talented, so beautiful. What a great meeting with Maceo, who is truly a living legend. If you ever needed evidence of Candy's status in the world of music, think "Van Morrison." He holds her in special regard, and Van does not tolerate mediocrity.

does anyone mind that i think Prince don't belong in that list, a terrible singer an average guitar player, a mediocre composer he dreamed of funk but he never reached it a poser i think is the best word to describe him, a pop start at best. And candy you're now other, younger peoples hero , you learned from the best; Hans King Curtis Maceo Parker, and all great jazz musicians in the world, now you're the best
You're certainly entitled to your opinion but though not particularly a Prince fan he was undoubtedly a very talented musician and I don't think Maceo Parker would have called him a genius otherwise.
I was never a Prince fan. I knew thats he was an ingenious showman, but that was it until I watched a video of him doing a cover of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" with a boatload of other superstar guitarists. If you Google it, I think you will agree that he belongs in that group.

We like what we like but what I find to be true with artist/ performers, entertainers, actors etc..., is what we see or what they show us is rarely the full scope or depth of their talent. I'd be blown away that an actor on a crapy sitcom or sifi program can dance and or have a beautiful singing voice or may have been a powerful stage actor or musician.
