Maceo is my cousin and we PARKER'S are all from somewhere in NORTH CAROLINA!!! He hails from KINSTON and I'm from DURHAM NORTH CAROLINA THE BULL CITY!!!! Anyway he's blowing with everything he got!! MACEO is still the man!!!!
+WILLIAM PARKER Wow - big honour to get my clip commented by one of the funky family members ! you are musician as well ? I mean so much talent .. I saw Kellis Parker with Maceo in the 90ies playin' rhythom like Jimmy Nolan, Melvin's son drumming like his father.....more to come ? :)
First time I heard the Great JB singing "There was a time", I was 17. 60 years on, I still live to his songs and Maceo's sax. Man, this pair is unbeatable. By any standards!
This Amazing show was Broadcasted on 19 January 1990 ...So yeah it could be recorded in 1990 or somewhere in 1989 , ive never figured this out..Love this show
sure ? The drummer is Tony Thomas and I thought he started PFAS in 1990. That sho was in Bobigny and afaik it was also performed in 1990 and not only broadcasted. But maybe you are right...so long ago. Anyway - exited already 2 see you again 04.05.2013 in Munich - great great great you find the way back to Muffathalle...
I litterally thought I was listening to the first generation of french hiphop when I listened to this the first time... Early NTM has Maceo all over the place.
Never noticed in the past but I Like the variations on the chorus Papa come in quick, Bring me that licking stick Mama come in quick, Bring me that liquid shit. Any funkier they would need a diaper...oh wait.
...this show was just awesome..It was boadcasted by French Tv Arte at the time...Terrific solo by BlackByrd at some point also....great show by Boogie... We got funked up that night, again...
funky Skeet was already bombing the funk at those times Wooten wastn't famous. And Wooten ist funky - they can all do fast splapping today - but Skeet was one of those originals which gave funk the face of P-Funk. Can't be rated high enough... check out stuff from the early P-Funk 80ies - lineup with Skeet & Dennis Chambers - bass&drums at its best. or check out Maceo & WDR BigBand just some years ago where they had Skeet&Chambers again for the Funky Party of the show - one of a kind both !
@@dutchsoulman haha post the rest my man I been waiting 7 years! lol just kidding love ya for posting in the first place. But this gotta be 1988 or 1989
yeah must of been hard for Maceo especially since he never did drugs and made a promise to himself when he was young that he was never going to use drugs.
Skeet is the sheeeeeeeeeeet. The best bass player of all the p-funk players.
Maceo is a BEAST on Sax!!! Did you all see George Clinton catch the Flava Flav spirit?? I just love this video. Thanks.

"Wooten isn't Funky" - OK LOL! ; ) In my opinion the Baddest funk bassist to play with Maceo is Jerome Preston...Love Skeet on the 5 string also,,,,

Maceo il n'y a pas de qualificatif pour décrire ton talent !
Actually, Maceo didn't felt well in the P-Funk family (as he wrote in his book 98% funky)...
yeah must of been hard for Maceo especially since he never did drugs and made a promise to himself when he was young that he was never going to use drugs.
