Tuna Madness // Our First Southern Bluefin Tuna // Waihau Bay July 2024

An amazing weather window arrived in Waihau so we packed the Senator 620 and boosted down from Auckland to have a crack at a Southern Bluefin Tuna.
We learnt so much during this trip and had so much fun. Lots of Albys were caught and even a small SBT!
Unfortunately, I didn't have the lighting set up well on this first night jigging so the footage isn't the best when we landed our SBT.
A big thanks to the boys at Yeehaa for helping set up our riggers and guiding us with all the different tips and tricks of the trade.
Another big thanks to the lads at Reel Catch. Their customer service and support in getting us their top of the line catch bag on time for this trip was outstanding. A great product which we will continue to use for future missions.
