Tomb of Dracula’s appearance in market watch is likely due to the team’s reappearance in Nightstalkers, part of the Midnight Sons line. I loved Nightstalkers so I developed an interest in the older Tomb of Dracula myself. In a public interview, Todd McFarlane said Tomb of Dracula would be his choice if he were stuck on an island with a run of a particular comic.
This wizard issue was right around when I got my first 4 comic books with my dad, which kicked off a 1-2 year run at comic book collecting. My first four books were: Venom # 1, Amazing Spider Man #375, Punisher 2099 #1, and I forget the fourth.

The main thing I remember about the Milestone-Ania beef was Dwayne McDuffie's final arc on Deathlok being one big symbolic attack on Ania, to the point of his putting direct quotes from Ania's publisher in Moses Magnum's mouth...

In regards to Wizard's coverage of the Death of Superman, they did a Death of Superman special that I enjoyed quite a bit. I wonder if that is why the main magazine featured surprisingly little coverage.

Great stuff. Like to listen/watch when I'm able to it at work. Brings up old memories and super informative at the same time. On point with art analysis and review's and good flowing conversation. Engaging stuff. I have no idea why this popped into my feed though. I don't read comics anymore. The intelligent and engaging approach got me. Other channels should take note. Thanks

I grew up in WV . I had an African American friend who moved to my town in Junior high around 1995 and brought a stack of the Ania comics and it was unlike anything I'd seen. My community and comics were white AF till then. Thanks for reminding me of that time !

Highlight of my week lads! Was reading Akira Vol 1 tonight, something I've been meaning to read for 30 years! Otomo's art is fantastic and the way he conveys speed and kinetic energy is unsurpassed. His motorcycle scenes are spot on- anybody know if he was/is a rider?

All this coverage of Faust is making my mouth water. Any tips for finding issues/collected editions that won't cost me an arm and a leg?

Well, we've each probably only paid a maximum of a dollar for the ones we didn't get at cover price. They're out there.

Its funny the Megaverse announcement there...my favorite piece of which was the crossover with Marvel that led to the creation of a 7th Infinity Stone, which has been completely forgotten in the MU it seems.

I was never a fan of Elfquest - I find it really hard to get into - the style is so specific that you are either a fan right or not it seems. With that said I still have my copy of Fantasy Quarterly #1. ;)

Kind of sad to hear Kabuki get lumped in with the Bad Girl nonsense. Shi or Lady Rawhide would be way more accurate.
I was/am a huge mark for Dragon, so I picked up that Wildstar mini. Dragon's in #3-4. Ties in a little with the start of Dragon's ongoing...he has a mustache in the issues.
I remember Todd dodging the Miracleman thing but still using his own version of the character. Man of Miracles appears in the Image Comics hardcover from 2005. The hardcover also has Dragon's origin and an Image timeline put together by Jim Valentino.
Weird to see the Superman funeral stuff not sell as high. My store had a line from the door to the counter of people (about 30 heads) coming in just to buy them.

DC definitely felt like an afterthought in most of the Wizard issues I read. If I remember correctly, the Wizard knockoff Hero magazine focused a bit more on DC

It's crazy to see how wrestling and comics at the same time where using bad gimmicks to get people to pay attention but in the long run also hurt them both.
