He didn't choose to be placed at the national cathedral. His second and final wife was a Episcopalian and the national cathedral is the seat of the head of Episcopalian Church. Wilson was him self a Presbyterian. His wife wanted to be buried in a Episcopalian church. Because presbyterian and Episcopalian beliefs are extremely similar their was no religious issue with him being placed their. Also Wilson is the only president buried in the cathedral but not the only person. There are several form bishops, executive department secretaries, and diplomats buried there along with grants granddaughter, admiral dewey, a fighter pilot from Lafayette Escadrille, a bank philanthropist, the founder of the YMCA. Wilsons tomb isn't even very extravagant when compared to other presidents. I doesn't look like Wilson was placed at the cathedral for attention at all.
Fun fact: there was originally a hole in the ceiling of the crypt, so that visitors in the rotunda could look down and see Washington's tomb (not unlike Napoleon's tomb at the Panthéon in Paris).

Interesting that President Woodrow Wilson, a lifelong Presbyterian, is entombed in Washington National Cathedral, which is the Cathedral for the Episcopal Diocese of Washington, and the seat of the Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church in the USA. This is due to his second wife, Edith Bolling Galt Wilson, being a lifelong Episcopalian. Wonder if he knew where she intended to inter him for all eternity?
I wouldn't necessarily assume that he wouldn't have wanted that just because of his denomination. She was trying to secure his legacy despite all the issues with his presidency.

A couple of years ago I was at Mount Vernon, taking the tour. When we came to Washington's bedroom, I asked a guide if this was the room he died in. A woman in the group gasped as if I had revealed something horrible. It was where he died. To smooth things over, I related the story of Washington's last words. "Does Jefferson still live?" I think he was of the opinion that so long as one of them was alive, America would be okay. And Jefferson still lived. He outlasted General Washington by two hours.
I've never been there but I feel like I have a pretty good idea of how it is going to Arkansas state capitol a lot it's pretty much an exact replica of the Capitol building
Of course woodrow wilson would try and steal the glory of a burial like this

You mean The Hôtel Des Invalides, the Panthéon is in Greece.

Took me a second to remember that Kennedy served when you mentioned he was buried at Arlington.
Taft, however, didn't. He was the secretary of war but never in the military himself.

I have lived in the DMV area for over 30 years and I always learn something new from your videos. Keep them coming 😊❤✌️
Happy to hear it!
So the Emperor is buried on Coruscant
WW? Well, that's no shock
The floor is in fact as weird as it looks
I go to DC in 3 days so this account is awesome

Taft is at Arlington?
Because he was a Chief Justice of SCOTUS after he was President
Warren G Harding has a cool burial memorial
I was there
Ooh I’ve been here before
Kennedy's stone or marker is at Arlington, but his body was interd at sea. 😎
Doesn't matter were you are buried, you're still dead...
Yeah but the story they left is what makes creators in the Earth for us to see.
Just taking up valuable real estate that within 1 generation will be abandoned and forgotten.
LESSSSS GO I GOT TO GO THERE
Lincoln?
Wilson was Canadian. Couldn't really be buried at home.
Forgot about Lincon I guess
President Abraham Lincoln is buried in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield, Illinois.
Lincoln's Memorial is in Washington D.C. But he was buried in Illinois.
Dude!
