- The Gazzew U4 Boba's are one of the best tactile switches on the market currently. They feature a solid build, feel and sound (especially if you love silent switches). These will make even the most hardcore linear gang member think about switching sides.

I've had these switches for a while and they're definitely worth it, especially for the price and feel! I have a topre keyboard and it's about as close to a topre switch sound and feel as you're going to get from a normal mechanical switch imo so that's a huge plus if you're looking for that and don't want to spend the money on a topre keyboard with their unique stems.
agreed
I was just going to say these sound nearly like a Topre switch
I just bought and installed the Boba U4 Silent Tactiles you recommended and I was blown away! Wow, I love it for typing! I've always hated linears and I've always preferrred blues and tactile switches so I was surprised I loved the feel of these switches especially for typing! Wow!
I already have a board with U4's but have been itching to build with U4T's. Silent switches are just so much more practical for shared space use cases though
I bought these and I personally think these are the very best silent switches on the market at the moment and the second-best tactile switch (second only to the Gazzew Boba U4t in my personal opinion).
I second anyone that says it's totally not worth lubing or filming these at all. There's no difference in acoustics after lubing them plus the lube only makes the switches inconsistent in feel. Never had that experience before but that's my experience with the U4. The top housing tolerances are already so very well built and tight that filming them creates uneven gaps, forcing the top housing to not be able to clamp all the way down. Essentially, filming them makes the top housings MORE wobbly.
As for being better than Holy Pandas? That's a definite yes for the almost-nonexistent stem wobble, undetectable top housing wobble, and tactility.
But for those that have light springs and like to bottom out, that's gonna be totally up to preference. Brandon's description of bottoming out and feeling like the stem pole was bouncing off a thin layer of "gum" is how I would describe the bottom-out feeling as well.
These switches are the very best suited for shared workspaces, are affordable, well built, and are so damn good I currently use them on the spacebar of all my keyboards.
John Whalen Jr, do you remember what type of lube you tried? I've heard mixed reviews about lubing Boba U4s, and am trying to suss out if it's dependent on lube type. I was considering trying Trybosis 3230, but if that's what you used then I'll spend my time on something else : )
@@reachingmyworld That's what I used.
Awesome. Thanks for saving me a few hours! : )
I was also never a silent MK guy but the bobas did blow my mind. Really surprised that such extreme quietness could come with such great tactility.
I also have kailh box silent brown, silent v2 aqua and topre silent boards (HHKB, Topre low noise etc). Hands down bobas on a heavy gasket are your best choice for a silent daily driver.
these were my first tactile switches actually. they're lubed with 205g0 and they feel good. the leaf ping he mentioned was actually very noticeable for me. i then bought the kiwis and I have basically forgotten about the bobas until now
These are my favorite switches to use on my space bar. I know it “sounds” haha, silly. But it’s really nice and let’s the rest of the boards sound really come through.
The only tactile switches that I've kept around are Halo True / Clears w/ 62g springs, so it sounds like the 62g version of these switches is probably worth a try.
if you liked those you have to try u4t’s practically the same but non silent
Finally these get talked about. Had them in my main for about 6 months now. Enjoy!
why would you recommend kiwis and holy pandas as the non-silent alternatives and not U4Ts...
Absolutely love the U4Ts, though prob gonna grab these for my work keyboard!
hahah i feel you dude. He is the same guy who said nk cream sounds thoccc(with 3c) when in fact it is clack king
I've been hearing word of Gazzew linear thock switches but I haven't seen them around. Hope they get out there cuz I'd love to see Linear Gang getting in on the thoccy boba action.
Edit: Got a couple LTs for my tester. Yep, they sound like U4t but linear. Not my flavor because I just looove the tactility of U4t but they sure sound good.
I’ve had these in my nk65 for almost three months and I love them, they replaced my alpacas.
It feels like I'm in displaced time or something to see a review of Gazzew Boba switches but have no mention of the U4T switches.
4:20 fire transition
I have been linear gang for a long time, but the Bobas really converted me to be a member of both tactile and linear gang. This switch is worth it.
Yeah, the Boba U4s are my favourite silent tactile for sure, they make a great switch to use in a University/School/Office board :D
honestly, all gazzew switches are underrated.
Underrated? Nah they are valued at what they should be. The u4ts are one of the most popular switches on the market and silent switches wise, gazzew is #1
@@user-kz9rz8ui1c kind of underrated because of the fact large keyboard content creators dont have much videos regarding it 😂
@@thawzie bc there's not really a point. there's already a bunch of videos reviewing it
Been using Boba U4T switches on my Portico for a while now and they are amazing switches. Usually I have a linear preference for my switches but these sound and feel great.
Bro this background song is amazing man! Do you know what its called?
Good stuff BT! Hopefully you can try some Nixdorks or even the Linear Thocks! Keep up the great vids man ;)
I’d love to see a review on the linear thocks too !
The boba u4t are my go to switches.
I'm sure you are getting a lot of these comments, but you definitely gotta check the U4T's if we are looking for non-silent tactile go-to's.
Dope write up (so to speak). Looks like they are already selling out! Wanted to to try these on my 40%, I'll have to wait for the restock.
Are there new version of these? The ones I see have a clear top. (Gazzew U4T RGB version). Also how do they compare to the EPOMAKER Budgerigar?
Been tactile gang since forever and wanted too see what silent switches had to offer and I think this is what im getting
6:27 Respect for getting the Spectrum skins
broo the sound of those compared to the NK Blueberrys oh my. i have some NK's and i know how loud those are.. those Boba's sound very Satisfying
Hey BT, excellent review and thank you so much for that. Just FIY I think you mislabeled the stock v lubed v lube& film test. Text states HJK Keys but you seem to be pressing GHJ in the video
FINALLY, some real publicity for these switches. U4T's are more of my taste though.
I always had a bias against outemu switches after using a 30 dollar rgb gaming keyboard with outemu blues but this is a quality switch that definitely deserves a cop
K, we got BT to finally try Boba U4s, now for the Boba U4T (the non-silent thoccy version of the U4s), Everglide Dark Jades (Moyu Black), White Jades, Neopolitan Ice Creams, and every other tactile on Shoobs' inventory haha.
IS THAT A SNEAK PEAK OF THE SETUP no shot and highkey gonna buy this switch for the new build
Hi, whats that keyboard called? Was it a kit? I really like that case
POV: Bt posts video when you’re out in public and you watch it at max volume
he got the legends never die vinyl respect that
omg you noticed me even more respect for that
Try u4t version.. best switch so far for me
Good lord how many dB did you boost that U4 sound test by?
Just got mine today in the mail to go on a GMMK Pro 75, gonna be a killer combo.
"Their in Gzzew's hands, alright?" That was oddly reassuring haha
what happened to upcoming groupbuys?
Young BT in the cut
i've been rocking u4t boba's unlubed for around a month now. I really like the feel of them stock. will lubing them ruin the experience?
If you liked these, then you should try the u4t's, they are even better.
Highly subjective. I don't like the U4T because they are "too" loud in certain builds. I'd say U4 are a must for anyone looking for topre typing feel on an MX build
Boba U4T switches are still hot hot hot if you're looking for a tactile switch!
No-Lube is def the way to go! Time > lubing
shouldve pick the u4t version to get those deep sound
New to this stuff… I know I want these switches though lol.. I tried glorious panda at micro center on a switch tester and thought I wanted those. I know almost nothing about custom keyboards so are these comparable with gmmk, or what other suggestions people got for me? Not looking to spend a car payment either.
does the Gazzew U4 Boba's Switches with gmmk pro
How about this one compared against the boba u4t? Aside from sound, how does the typing experience compare? Thank you.
wow, someone's coming late to the party.
not even the cleaning crew is left at the gate.
let me live
would you prefer the boba u4t or just the boba u4 silent switch
What keyboard is this that you are using?
I've been going back and forth on getting some of these for a work board, guess I'm going to now
These are the silent variant, there’s a non-silent variant call ed the U4t (added the t)
@@matteob.6710 Yea, I was very distracted while watching this 😅 my bad for sure
Which keyboard is that ? Looks awesome
Man you got the silent one :(
Fuck just ordered an akko sponge switch this is the best tactile sound I've ever hear and I've missed it should've order this😭😭
I don’t know why but any switch over 60 grams actuation I hate using. They feel like a chore to type or game on over time.
What is a thocky feel?
Mm, stealthy. I'd give these a try if I was trying to keep quiet. But for my daily writing habit, I actually want a bit of satisfying typing sound.
Might have to cop now 😫🔥🔥🔥
Rip Juice
rip TPNE
legends never die
best 62 or 68 gramm?
I’ve had these for a long while in the office they are fantastic
Bobas are an end game switch man I’m telling you!
I know that sound tests are not the best indicator of how a switch sounds, and I'm sure these sound better in person, but holy sh*t those sound scratchy AF! My NK Blueberries sound better when they're lubed. Having said that, I'm sure that when lubed these Boba switches would sound even better than the NKBBs (for a tactile switch / linear gang 4 life) and would make a welcome addition to anyone's build that loves the feedback and sound of a well built tactile switch.
silent switches sound bad in sound tests because you're not supposed to hear the switch at all. In person you hear them a little bit but it's not bad sounding because the scratch you hear is barely audible. They really only sound bad when you turn up the volume on the video because you're getting the amplified scratch noise you won't actually hear in person unless you stick your ear directly onto the keyboard. Also boba u4s are already factory lubed and many people have stated there is no benefit to hand lubing them afterwards
@@gooberlaya that's really interesting, I don't know much about the Boba U4s and wasn't aware that washing and relubing them by hand wouldn't make a difference. Usually factory lubed switched aren't lubed that great and I always wash and relube them, but if you say otherwise I'll give these a shot! I am linear gang 4 life but I do have a soft spot for really good tactile switches and so far the NKBBs are the best ones I've used, if properly lubed. I agree about the sound tests - they can't truly replicate the sound profile that you'd hear in person - but I wasn't aware that they amplify the scratchiness of the sound profile. Good to know and thanks for the clarification!
@@F0XdIE67 yeah if you do end up getting them i think they will sound a lot better in person
probably because it mutes the other characteristics so you will be able to hear the scratch more.
I want a switch that punishes you for lubing them
i bought 200 boba u4t's and i had a few dead switches which i was shocked
What is ur fav mouse
Soo is it just me or can you hear a bit of scratch if unlubed I’m debating if i should guy these…
Edit: what plate should I use if I do wanna get these I have 1 fr4 and 1 brass.
Heared brass is better for tactility.
I hear it too.
They are not scratchy.
Most of the sound you are hearing comes mostly from the leaf.
For plate material, silent switches pair very well with stiff plates : the combination of a stiff plate and the "bouncy" nature of rubber gives an interesting typing feel. I'd say go for brass.
They definitely sound scratchy to me as well.
6:30 those wires @_@
still going linear gang with bobagums 😉
i must ask… what is that keyboard, i need it haha
Holy pandas are my fav
I already have them, they're not bad but feel kinda squishy
Anyone know how these compare to Zilent V2's?
Man use other keyboard for the sound tests that one sounds mushy af, they sound like membrane or silent switches....
YES TO TOPRE
Who gave you pink eye my boy lmao
Wow, sound great.
The only tactile switch better than a Panda is a linear.
These sound scratchy as hell though.
I feel like this videos script was made for the U4t's and he accidentally got sent U4's
I have them. They are my best switches
welp I copped instantly now
It's pretty funny since these switches made me hate tactiles, luckily i tried some others and realized i just don't like these and u4t's
juice fire
Dang
what the.. why is this man typing on a wet sponge.
Go giants👏
I knew it…
Try Holy Boba
Imo holy pandas aren’t even top 5 for me
999
imo they sound mushy and gross, idk
Sweeeeeet
NK blueberrie is poo
Silent = L
early
Ew thats gross it sounds like membrane keyboards
