Guys, he wasn't trying to help, the card order was messed up. He had 16 with 8, ace so he switched them to be in the order it scanned out of the boot. He wasn't trying to finesse the system, he was trying to not get fired by having to reset the game by dealer error which is usually an auto win for the player.

Usually if the dealer makes a mistake then the player would typically win if it messes everything up. By not stopping play and calling it in, he's trying to prevent being fired, not trying to help the player. It's impossible for the dealer to help the player when everything is scanned already and is automated. The only way to get around this would be by looking at the card before it's scanned, which is very hard to do without moving the shoe, as the only way to get the card out of the shoe is by pushing it down and over the scanner. So no, the dealer didn't have BJ, as that's not what he scanned. He just passed the cards out wrong and decided to fix it by himself instead of calling a supervisor.

The cards are automatically scanned when they come out the deck thing so what actually is happening here is that there’s most likely a screen showing him where the cards are supposed to be and he fucked up at some point and laid them in the wrong spots and noticed…. For anyone confused, the dealer wasn’t cheating on purpose, he would lose his job. Instead, he simply messed up the cards when dealing, and put them in the wrong spots. He should have pressed the button to have support fix it by giving bets back and starting a new hand, but instead he half-assed it by switching them himself to where the cards were supposed to be. This was wrong because both of the dealers card were shown to the table.
Finally someone else who has played blackjack understands what happened... I honestly didn't even think that he was trying to cheat until everyone else brought it up
To clarify (as someone who worked for the same company): Cards get scanned as soon as you take them out of the shoe, that's how the progress and the result of the game gets recorded. While dealing the cards, one of them must have not get scanned so the cards that are on the table and the ones that are shown on his monitor are different. In that case, he needs to inform the higher ups and they will cancel the game and start a new one and it would count as the dealers mistake. Thing is, your base salary is complete garbage and you rely on performance bonus (speed of your dealing + your average % evaluation from floor managers + having no mistakes) to get a better salary. I guess he decided he didn't want to get a mistake and lower his salary so he changed the cards so they match what was registrated on the screen which is dumb of course. Anyone who saw this would report it and he 100% got fired.
I work in an actual casino and we make all our money from tips. So these virtual BJ dealers get bonuses from gow fast and proficient they are? Shit I should do this instead I can deal like lightening when the players want it
I can't say for all online casinos but if you see "powered by evolution gaming" which is a company casinos pay money to for providing the streaming service and everything that goes with it (dealers, tables, decoration), then yes, I don't remember that well but I think for me it was like 40-50% base salary and the remaining 50% was for the best bonus and then there were 2 levels beneath it. Evolution Gaming casinos didn't (and I imagine still don't) have the option to tip the dealer. If they did, I imagine I would look back at it as a fantastic place to have worked at :D Being only paid from tips sounds scummy to me though, it's on the same level as restaurant workers in US heavily relying on tips for their salary.
