Brooke Sheilds was my favorite on this panel. She has grown from her experiences even though the media was always attacking her and her mom in the 1970's. I was too young to see her movies at the time but now see that what she did was truely needed at that time when those subjects weren't discussed. It's still true today. That's why she is still relevant to this day. Most of these women were real trailblazers but for the life of me I can't understand why whiny woman with a title top billing? Were they trying to discourage women to watch? Debbie Downer might be a favorite on SNL but even she wasn't all about playing the victim. Maybe Meghan Markle could stop coming up in my news feed every freakin' day if she feels bullied because I'm just seeing complaining.

I think that Meghan forgets that the whole of the UK celebrated her addition to the Royal family until the antics began within a few short months after she had bagged her Prince. Shortly after the untimely departure to Canada, and then on to the USA ,which had been her intent from the getgo, she had the Oprah Winfrey interview. She disparaged the Royal family and offered up insinuations of racism that the couple took years to disavow, and she told a number of untruths that became glaringly apparent in the months to come. Then, she made money with a docuseries that further trashed the family. The Royal family has covered her reputation by not disclosing the results of an inquiry in to bullying allegations during her short time there with staff, most of whom were women! Meghan Markle is a bully, which makes her attendance at this event rather ironic, to say the least.

Brooke is still amazing, Intelligent and absolutely a genuine person who cares about other people. I found Meghan Markle's contributions to this panel lacking in specificity, shallow, and, at times, nonsensical. The other panelists spoke anecdotally...they came prepared with personal stories, data, humor, and opinions. They made Meghan look unprepared, weak, and unfit to be a part of this panel.

Nancy Wang Yuen states that mothers on US TV shows are often portrayes as staying at home "everything's fine".... I am european and have completely opposit impression from US TV series (and books). They often show pregnant women working until last minute the baby is due and been keen to return to work just couple of weeks after the delivery. It is often showed not as a critic of lack of pay leave (and other supports we have in Europe), but as a kind of "heroic ideal"....

Nothing wrong being thin, young and white. I'm a brown-skinned latina and I think it's beautiful to be thin, young, and white. And beautiful to be tan, brown, healthy, thin, not thin (but not obese, that's unhealthy). And nothing wrong with being a stay-at-home mom. Its great. To stay home and keep the household running. And nothing wrong with career women. Or women like me, who are not ambitious but work 8-4, sometimes to 6pm. So we can bring in extra money to help the family. Brooke Sheilds was my favorite on this panel. She has grown from her experiences even though the media was always attacking her and her mom in the 1970's. I was too young to see her movies at the time but now see that what she did was truely needed at that time when those subjects weren't discussed. It's still true today. That's why she is still relevant to this day.
Most of these women were real trailblazers but for the life of me I can't understand why whiny woman with a title top billing? Were they trying to discourage women to watch? Debbie Downer might be a favorite on SNL but even she wasn't all about playing the victim. They often show pregnant women working until last minute the baby is due and been keen to return to work just couple of weeks after the delivery. It is often showed not as a critic of lack of pay leave (and other supports we have in Europe), but as a kind of "heroic ideal"....
