I have a Citizen 'Orca' divers watch with a scratch on the crystal and I looked at a lot of video clips to see how best to remove this scratch. This video has made the most sense to me - simple, non technical - non advertorial specific, (promoting a singular market item) and starts with a simple truth - you won't get marks out of crystal, but you can make it look much better by blending in the surrounding area, and what effect this has on the depth of the surface in the area - a cunning art of camouflage! Thank you so much for making this video which , for me, explains the truth about scratches with no ulterior motive, and its given me the confidence to have a go, which is why good video's inspire, well done!

Isn't it better if we moist up the buffing tools to get the paste sticky and reduce heat?

    Thanks for this.
I have a very beat up rebadged version of a DPW Z 1000m divers watch the has been in everyday use for 20 odd years.
The crystal is 6mm thick and currently made out of unobtainium, so the next best cunning plan is to polish it, fortunately it is flat not domed.
Thanks for the info and timely video

Are there any affordable micrometers out there? In other words, who makes the best inexpensive ones?

Those numbers on the diamond paste syringes are actually micron not grit. So the .5 micron is about 30,000 grit and the 14 is around 900 grit depending on what scale they used. Check out the techdiamondtools diamond pastes on amazon. They are incredible. A million times better than the ones you have which I've had as well. The techdiamond one actually have low, medium, and high diamond dust options. The high is 50% diamond powder and it works incredible. I use them to strop my knives or polish out scratches on them. I am actually about to use them to fix a watch face and why I watched your video. They are really deep scratches so we will see. I'm going to start out with my dremel using the flexible sanding discs and work my way up. The tech diamond pastes go by grit too so are easier to figure out. They go as high as 200,000 grit and low as 200 grit. And even better you can get the diamond powder alone and just make a little paste yourself with water or oil or whatever and make it last much longer. And use your felt wheels. Thanks for the video, wish me luck. Check out those diamond pastes. You will be amazed

Lara, Thank you for your feedback. I appreciate exactly where you are coming from. I created these videos with the expectation that most people have never done anything like this and probably don't have the correct tools or supplies. I also realize others may want to "cut to the chase" as you say. I find myself thinking the same thing when watching some YT videos. However, whats great about YT, is you can simply click anywhere in the timeline to get to what you want to see. Perhaps in future videos, I will state right up front the exact minute and second to where you can go to for the meat of the video. Thanks again for your input.
