Mule Power or Horse Power? Mule Day 2024 in Columbia, TN did not disappoint!

This was the 50th Anniversary of the Mule Day in Columbia, TN. They start out the week with a Wagon Train that arrives at Maury County Park. I agree..you can tell what mules have been worked regularly and what mules just get pulled out of a pasture for this event

I watched a mule pull once at a county fair. The mules out-pulled the heavy draft horses of the day before. I still remember one pair coming up, looking the boat over, looking at each other and nodding. I think they were saying, we can do this. And they did.

That’s a lot of weight for them little cotton mules. That’s what we use to call mule’s under a 1000 lbs in Georgia!
