- The International Criminal Court's chief prosecutor says there are reasonable grounds to believe that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu bears criminal responsibility for war crimes and crimes against humanity. The prosecutor is therefore seeking an arrest warrant for Netanyahu. He has also applied for arrest warrants for three Hamas leaders. Hamas carried out the October 7 terror attacks in Israel and is designated as a terrorist organization by many countries.

Germany and most other European countries will have to arrest him once Netanyahu sets one foot inside their countries, as most European countries are signators of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court. He practically won't be able to enter half of the world's countries just like Putin who couldn't visit South Africa for the BRICS meeting.

In theory they have to arrest him if he goes to Germany. In Practice I don't think Germany will arrest him.
He’s also issued a warning about article 70 of the Rome Statute - that he will not tolerate interference or intimidation in the administration of justice. Republican Members of Congress have already threatened the ICC and ICJ, so hopefully arrest warrants are issued for them as well.

Trump had sanctioned Karim Kan (the ICC prosecutor) and others over their intention to look into possible war-crimes of the USA in Afghanistan. Biden for all his bluster is going to follow Trump's paradigm, his administration has already said that such an indictment would not be helpful. Also note that the indictment is not yet issued, Karim Kan took the unusual step of announcing his intentions. Usually the indictment is issued first and then the ICC announces it. I think Kan did it to pre-empt any attempt by the US and the Europeans to meddle with the courts' decision.

He hasn’t just made this up, he has testimony from survivors who have left Gaza. He has satellite imagery examined by experts, and obviously the UN reports from various aid agencies operating in Gaza as well as obvious incrimination by the Israelis mentioned here.

ICC has a reputation that is important to defend. When you see your evidence all over the media, and displayed in clear terms by professional press there can be only one conclusion. And then on top of everything to defend what your doing with your religion…. Need anyone say anything else.
Two questions:
1. Does Hammas or any terrorist organization recognize the jurisdiction of the ICC, ie can terrorists be expected to do so?
2. Doesn't the crime of Netanyahu described by the prosecutor fit the definition of genocide?
I can appreciate the ICC's stance on this. Both of the leaders need to be arrested at this point because they were both wrong. Israel more so though because this excessive force is extremely unnecessary
