I've had to watch this 3 times in a row!! Just to catch all the action. Holy sheeit. Going through those wooded areas with ya'll. Intense. I could only imagine the amount of adrenaline and rush it was to do it in person
Mike Nielsen We have startet with a XC hardtail long time ago ;) When you are looking for a new bike look for an All-Mountain/Enduro/Trail Bike (150 - 106 mm travel - can be less if the wheels are bigger (650b or 29er). You can do almost everything with these kinds of bikes.
Callum Hildaclanm, for some reason I cannot reply to your post - I assume another error of RUclips with Google+... Yes, I did loose the elbow pad. It's hard to find elbow pads which do not slip. Maybe this is why I prefer enduro/trail riding where I do no wear elbow pads ;) But I don't want to crash in the rocky sections and hit stones with my unprotected elbow when riding pretty fast (compared to my skills) on the downhill bike.
nederbassie When we started 20 years ago we just took our XC bikes and tried to ride down as fast as possible. If you have a bike park in your area you could start by renting a bike. I would also recommend a coaching (private or small group) to get the basics. If you prefer singletrails or if there is no bike park in your area you could buy a trail/all-mountain/enduro bike and start with this.
I am sure you took the trickiest lines through those berms, nearly everything in that trail had my heart in my mouth! Your bike EATS up the nasties!! Your riding is awesome! What a trail! I have ridden some of the best trails in the UK but most of them involve hours of uphill punishment for a downhill run less than half of that.. Beautiful!
Haha! The jump is actually an example of many bad built jumps here in Austria (or at jumps which are very difficult to jump them well or have fun when jumping). But I wanted to ride like the race track was some weeks before.
Insane riding. Good job... not only at keeping pace, but also at not having a single stop on a whole run like this, even to just alliviate your forearms. Kudos!
Many action sports video look not as fast or not as steep as it really is. With the camera mounted on the chest and with its wide angle lense it looks quite fast. It also depends on the size of the video window and what you have watched before. So sometimes the video looks pretty fast, the next time slower. Although this track is everything else but easy, you can keep a relative high pace. If you have the skills it feels really flowy. I know this track for some years now. A month before I made this video I had already ridden the track about 8 times in 2 days. And I assume it was the third run at this one day. All in all I know every corner, every jump and every step. And almost every importand stone and root. Sometimes I even say to myself: In reality it feels not that fast. I think that's because when riding you are only concentrated on the track. You don't see anything next to your line. In the video you also see a lot of landscape, trees or other riders next to the track. I totally ignore that when riding fast. If anyone asks: The video is not speeded up! If you speed up a video just a few percentages it can be clearly heard in the audio.
wow i really admire your skills on the trail. I am a whitewater kayakist and am no stranger to fast paced but this is a whole new game. Makes the trails where I live look flat :) great video!!!
Jim Barton Thanks! It was surely one of my best runs ever. In Austrian races I'm usually in average position (of all participants). The friend in front of me was almost 10% faster at the national championships (but here I was not that much behind). He was about 5 to 10% slower than the austrian champion. And the fastest world cup racer are of course even faster.
Actually this ramp is badly shaped. Don't like it. A few weeks ago a race took place on this track and I wanted to ride exactly the same line as the track was flagged for this race to compare my time.
Man I ride too, but this set of trails is just mindblowing. Great run and what a beat! You shoulders gotta be destroyed at the end os such a run! Superb job and magnificent landscape. Cheers from Portugal
Niiice run!! =) And I reaaaally enjoy that you let the sound of bicycles and respirations from the camera... in spite of bad house / club music as we see everywhere! :-P thanks
one of the O.Gs, the first ever official youtuber that i discovered who was doing this MTB POV RUclips thing is Downhill Rangers. I remember watching him way back in 2015 way before I started doing mine in mid 2017
Can't believe,I come here every day to watch this run...It's almost meditative just watching, can't wait to visit Saalbach and this track. bike is on the way,Saalbach is close to Croatia \m/
Cool. If you are going to buy a downhill bike you should also look to the Bikepark Leogang which is in the next valley. If it's an all mountain/enduro bike you can even ride over the mountain (with cable car support) to Leogang.
Respekt.
My legs are quite strong - so no problem. Usually my forearms give up first and make braking hard. But I had a really good day this day so I had no problem almost till the bottom. The V10 is really quiet in comparison to my old bike. I assume the Carbocage chain guide and the Frame Wrap chain stay protection help a lot.
Bloomin' 'eck! I'm tired just from watching! Brilliant fun to watch though, thank-you for posting. Great camera angle too. I have been wearing mine on my helmet but don't get the same "feel" for the trail as with this camera angle :)
My carbon hardtail snapped when I watched this... and it's on another continent! Amazing riding!
Unfassbar, wie ihr da runter immer abgeht!! Meinen allergrößten Respekt dafür! Danke für die wilde Fahrt! :)
I've had to watch this 3 times in a row!! Just to catch all the action. Holy sheeit. Going through those wooded areas with ya'll. Intense. I could only imagine the amount of adrenaline and rush it was to do it in person
Since 2012 I've a Santa Cruz V10. Yes, especially the first wood is so rad.
haha I bet. I've got a hard tail redline. I doubt could handle those bumps as well as your equipment. But I wish I could try.lol

Riding that fast that long takes soooo much stamina! Awesome Video!
This is one of the nicest trails I've seen!
And the rider was booking it!
Amazing. This is the third time that I see this video and I think I'll see it again. Is like a wind of freedom. Great ride.
Amazing! So fit. Epic riding! Awesome trail! Bike skills galore.
I ride simple xc here in England, your video takes my breath away, you are truly a master of your universe!
that was incredible.
my head was tilting and bobbing with you at every corner and bump for 12 minutes.
great video.

nederbassie

Wow...those two are some real MASTERS, no joke. Well done bikers! Nashule, what could we ever desire better than that?

Tadeo Garcia Europe -> Austria -> Salzburg -> Saalbach -> Schattberg
This is a really great video. I do not think I have seen DH footage in such clear definition. Loved it. Cheers
@3:43 showing off to the laids huh... hahahahha, no shame, i would have done it too
Haha! The jump is actually an example of many bad built jumps here in Austria (or at jumps which are very difficult to jump them well or have fun when jumping). But I wanted to ride like the race track was some weeks before.

HOW DOES YOUR BRAIN COMPUTE THAT FAST

My Goodness !!!! and I thought I could ride a bike all these years. Respect to you guys. I'm not crazy enough to ride like that yet.
had to hit up that one little jump after you passed those girls. fuckin savage yo
Heftiger Downhill. Respekt !!!

Incredible! Love the first person angle. I can't believe how fast you go through the tree and rock sections. Thank God for full suspension :D
3:43 *sees the girls* He says to him self: "oh theres a ramp" *lets do it for the girls* xD
Actually this ramp is badly shaped. Don't like it. A few weeks ago a race took place on this track and I wanted to ride exactly the same line as the track was flagged for this race to compare my time.
Downhill Rangers Oh ok. Still nice try to get the girls ;D haha Thaks for reply, I subbed! :D
Terrific stuff, watch the whole video and loved it. Special thanks for not adding music, it was great to hear the sounds of the ride.

one of the O.Gs, the first ever official youtuber that i discovered who was doing this MTB POV RUclips thing is Downhill Rangers. I remember watching him way back in 2015 way before I started doing mine in mid 2017
It didn't look so fast till they got to the woods. The trees give you real perspective of speed.
I got my adrenaline high just by watching.

Insane riding! Proper hitting it!
There are some teeth rattlin' rocks on this trail. Great video.
Respekt.
Super fast run! Your hands and thighs must have been pretty baked by the time you got down! Bike ran smooth and quiet too.
My legs are quite strong - so no problem. Usually my forearms give up first and make braking hard. But I had a really good day this day so I had no problem almost till the bottom. The second part looks to be more fun after 4 min. Nice track and video!!
Great video, thanks for sharing.
It looked like a lot of fun!

Amazing Trail! Dangerous but Fun! Great Ride Bro. Your Bike is Strong like you! Tnx for posting. Have a safe trip!
Bloomin' 'eck! I'm tired just from watching! Brilliant fun to watch though, thank-you for posting. Great camera angle too. I have been wearing mine on my helmet but don't get the same "feel" for the trail as with this camera angle :)

Cara, incrível. Eu mal consegui acompanhar a trilha com meus olhos aqui sentado! Muito radical!
I wish i could do this so bad, but i live in Florida so there is pure sand..... Keep this up its amazing!
Epic trail. My hands would be sore at the end - from riding the brakes.
INTENSE!!! In So Cal we don't have many trees on our downhill runs.
This is an awesome video!! Your friend is a real good rider
