Using live bait is probably the cruelest thing you can do in the name of fishing. I mean, why not have a clean conscience and use a fly, lure or dead bait instead? Or, choose to be haunted for a long time to come...you are doing wrong.

I really don't know what kind of satisfaction or achievement they get from torturing a fish so cruelly just to catch another - I'll always be an avid angler myself, but only use barbless flies, bait such as bread paste, and lures depending on the species. Outwitting a fish ethically is a challenge - and to my mind that's a big part of what fishing is all about.
Not sure, because we fish in a small pond where the pike are always about the same size. We've never seen any much bigger, so we can't tell if they would target dead fish more.

LIVEBAIT is not ok!!!! I know in many country is allowed. But here the fish doesn't even have a hook anywhere and it's all about having fun at the expense of the animal's suffering. Nobody should support channels like this!

I only use extra large dead bait. It works well to filter out the small pike.

This video evidence confirms the long held view that in general livebaits catch jacks whereas deadbaits sort out the better (larger females) fish.
