    It seems like you keep your training pretty straightforward and simple compared to some of the other powerlifters I've watched. For example I don't think I've ever seen you use chains on bench. Or any of the other variations like that. Have you tried that stuff? What do you think about those sorts of things.

    Do you get muscle imbalances using the same mixed grip all the time? If I used mixed grip, I switch between sets.

    Do you always bench with that relatively narrow, tip-toe kind of foot and leg position? Very similar to how I bench. So many top benchers are all about the wide and flat feet, and I spent a while attempting but it never felt right and costs me power. I feel vindicated seeing you do this haha.

    Hey John, I was wondering what you do for recovery. Do you get massages/physical therapy/dry needling/other occasionaly to stay healthy? Keep it up!

      I get regular deep tissue work done. I try for every 3-4 weeks during a peak. That, along with nutrition and sleep are the major things I do for recovery

      2300 is the main goal. I want the squat record at 198, to say I have all the single lift records along with the total. If everything keeps moving like it is, I may try and reach a bit above 2300.

    Just out of curiosity: I've noticed you use the word "we" to talk about who is hitting your lifts as opposed to "I." An example is "we're about to do our top set." Are you referring to a coach or a training partner?

      @@noelle-marie just referring to myself and the voices in my head. I’m joking. I coach myself, but I feel a bit awkward talking about myself sometimes. Using “we” feels a little easier.

    It's not even worth it to post my deadlift numbers anymore because they are bigger than what anyone can conceive.
    I'd use the weight you used on this very slow deadlift to maybe warm up my rotator cuffs.
