I got the jotul 601 with herring fish scale design. It came from a boat at Alesund when the town burned down. This stove only has two bolts in its base to secure the two side plates, one bolt per plate !

What is diameter of drill and tap size ? Is the gold coloured drill iron nitride or special alloy to allow cast iron to be drilled ?thanks, great video.

That cast iron is not heavy duty difficult to drill in. I use 5,5 mm ordinary steel bor on the marked and use M6 screws. Easy drilling ! Thx ! :-)

Great job! What are you using to clean up the excess stove/gasket cement? Currently rebuilding a Jotul 118 (Green, 1975)

    What paint did you use

    • @motordiverse1276

Hi ! It is not paint....but polish ! Stove polish. Many types out there to buy...and the one i used was super good...from www.biltema.no. But unfortunatly they stopped to sell that type and replased it with one that has old recipe and is more dull...but it works. This one gave a very shiny surface and made it better to sell the stove...as it looked astonishing good ! :-)
